Yeah. Big ouch for Kesha. The worst part is that from what I can tell, Kesha only texted Gaga with that. Gaga is the one who started going around and telling other people. So Gaga inadvertently f**ked Kesha over by not keeping her mouth shut. I have actually read that part of the text exchange included Kesha encouraging Gaga to spread the rumors. If so, Kesha is fucked legally. I still feel so bad for Katy. This puts her in such a shitty position.

Smh, just when Katy was poised for a comeback next year, she gets pulled into this mess. At this point, I don’t know how I want this to play out. After Katy “denied” being raped (in qoutations because I’m starting to doubt the source of this info), it looks bad for Kesha since she is the one who told Gaga and then Gaga went around telling others. And if that quote from Katy is true, then one of these pop girls are lying which I really don’t want to see happen. But if the quote isn’t real, then Katy really might’ve been raped by Dr Luke and that would just be horrible. At this point, they’re all in shitty positions and I really feel bad for Katy because it’s been obvious that she wants nothing to do with it. She’s been one of the Dr Luke collaborators who had been pretty silent on the whole situation.

I wouldn’t call it a “mess”. I had no idea about any of this until I visited this board after a couple days. It’s not any of my social media at all. I couldn’t even find a thread on ATRL either. Doesn’t seem like that huge of a thing.

Doesn’t seem like that huge of a thing. I kind of agree, to be honest. I had no idea about this until I saw that post, and I saw it a few days after it was a thing here. It’s still a mess for all of them personally, however as it is right now I don’t think it will affect any of them publically as it doesn’t seem anyone really knows. It didn’t even get a thread in the News & Entertainment board

hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=312288HITS also credits Variety (very well-respected entertainment industry pub) with breaking the story with the statements from Luke's team. Keeping in mind that we still don't know what was said in anyone's deposition, it seems that Gaga did corroborate Kesha on this (simply bc it would be really strange of Kesha's team to rely on that defense if Gaga directly refuted it under oath). But then the CEO denied ever saying it (possibly in depo, or possibly outside of court to Luke), and Luke conveniently is ignoring the original source/reason why Kesha was texting Gaga about it so that he can use the text against Kesha. Y'know, instead of suing the CEO for making such an outlandish statement to multiple people. Or just not raping people. There are only so many CEOs to consider... - Steve Barnett is current CEO of Capitol Records (Katy's label) - John Janick is current CEO of Interscope (Gaga's label) - Lucian Grainge is current CEO of Universal Music (Capitol and Interscope are Universal subsidiaries) - Peter Edge is current CEO of RCA (Kesha's label) - Rob Stringer is current CEO of Sony Music, but Doug Morris was the CEO in 2016, when the texts occurred (RCA is a Sony subsidiary) Odds of Gaga and Kesha having a conversation with a CEO not connected to any of the three women are low, so I'm cutting the list down to these five. I'm admittedly being petty with this list b/c it's hella f**ked up that the CEO's name is the one that continues to be guarded.

Katy really should be proud of her fans! They support her no matter what and really allow her to mature with time.

The evergreen, perennial favorite “Firework” is back in the Top 100.

Firework is statistically her biggest hit but I feel like it's relatively 'unknown' compared to I Kissed A Girl, Hot N Cold, E.T., Roar and Dark Horse. Might be because I live in Europe though.

Firework is most definitely not 'unknown' in any sense of the word, nor a far away as a song that's eight years old. After Roar, it's the song I hear most often.

Firework is by far Katy’s biggest cultural impact song.

I have to say, this has been the most disappointing album I've heard in a long time (right there with Miley's and Demi's). I was obsessed with Teenage Dream and Prism and even One of the Boys had bops but this was just... stale. Hopefully she comes back with the super produced, perfectly crafted pop hits that I expect from her. She's the queen of generic pop classics and I need her back in the studio asap. We'll peg this as her My December/Rated R and move forward.

It gave us Chained to the Rhythm tho, so for that I’m forever grateful. I can seriously put that song on repeat for hours and never get sick of it. Very, very underrated track from her, imo. It’s in my Top 3. Great video, too.

Might be because I live in Europe though. firework is, maybe debatable, her signature song. Imo practically everyone knows the song is hers. Her vocals, the video, the ever popular July 4th song is undeniable. Not her best song by far but one of my favorites.

Culturally, Firework is her biggest song. Statistically, Dark Horse is her biggest song.

I'm looking forward to her next album. While I personally feel that her albums definitely pack a good amount of filler - hell, the second half is usually made up of what I consider to be a snoozefest of bland ballads that all sound the same - I do always look forward to her records because of the gems that they do hold.
I hope she comes back strong.

That was a cute interview but 2-3 years until her next tour? She can’t afford to wait that long for her next era. Katy needs new music out by Q1 of 2019 at the latest.

She can still put out an album early next year but just delay the tour.
