When was the last time a song spent 2(+) weeks at #1 on the Hot 100 without hitting #1 on CHR? Harlem Shake, Diamonds, and Someone Like You are the most recent examples I can think of.

I like both remixes for what they are, but I still prefer the original. I like the one with Eminem a little more.

Man, I wish the Eminem remix would hit #1! That's crazy how well it is doing! I need a new Eminem CD in my life ASAP.

Any idea what his next single will be ? www.billboard.com/charts/r-and-b-songsAcquainted is doing the best of his album tracks right now, so is probably the best choice. Although you could say Dark Times is doing better because it's doing almost as well without being up for download. Also, it's possible that The Hills will get HAC support eventually? Sometimes songs take off on certain formats after their peak. I'm shocked that Love In This Club never went top 50 on HAC, although Lollipop and Whatever You Like not getting there is understandable. Off topic but do you have any idea what ushers previous hot ac history was like at the time

Im so happy hes kicking ass! I was hoping hed be the breakthrough artist of the year! Whenever I turn on the radio one of his songs is playing, I heard In The Night yesterday while driving.
Is this the official second single? I know it was released first as a buzz single, but Im wondering if it just took off or if they released it officially?

@nickidaily:
Billboard: "All versions of the [The Hills] will count for the song's singular Hot 100 rank." @nickiminaj
So Em and Nicki will get credit next week?

Off topic but do you have any idea what ushers previous hot ac history was like at the time I didn't follow the charts back in 2008 (and before), but I heard that in the 00's it was very rare for HAC to play songs by black artists apart from a few like Alicia Keys or Mariah Carey? I think even Rihanna did poorly on HAC even with songs like Unfaithful and Take a Bow. I might be wrong of course, but that's what I heard anyway. However, still, for a #1 hit I thought it might have at least got top 50. I think it would if it happened today. I think I remember Like a G6 made top 50 on Mediabase HAC of all things! It's definitely become more common in the past couple of years though, using Rihanna as an example again Stay did well on HAC in 2013, and The Weeknd has done well on HAC this year, and other examples like See You Again (although I reckon a lot of stations would've played a Charlie Puth solo version?), Happy, All Of Me, etc. Another trend I've noticed since I did start following the charts is that HAC plays more dance songs than it used to. I suspect it might be because we're now approaching a time where people who were teenagers in the 90's (when dance music was at its peak, and also R&B/hip hop was more successful than in the 80's) are now more often tuning into HAC stations.

Well I guess we know for sure that "The Hills" will be num.1 next week if all versions count as one for it's "Hot 100" chart points. It's num.2,3 and 35 on ITunes right now. Plus I'm assuming fans of each artist may stream it some as well.

I imagine neither of them will get credit on the Hot 100. The only way they would only get credit is if their version of the remix accounts for more than half of the song's chart points. The original version is still selling well and is likely accounting for a majority of the song's airplay and streaming points, ruling out the chances of of Eminem and Nicki receiving credit.

The Eminem version is still #2 on iTunes though. Maybe just Eminem will get credit.

I'm sure a lot of stations have at least played it a few times. Probably a lot of mid-west areas are playing the Eminem version now.

The Eminem version is still #2 on iTunes though. Maybe just Eminem will get credit. 2 The Weeknd - The Hills (feat. Eminem) [Remix] 0.7510 3 The Weeknd - The Hills 0.6854 69 The Weeknd - The Hills 0.1146 (0.8000 combined) The original is outselling the Eminem remix when you combine the two versions at #3 and #69. I don't think either Eminem or Nicki will get credit.

I need an extended remix with both Em's verses and Nicki's verse. They need to do it like they did with " Loyal".

I'm not crazy about either remix. They took out a really strong verse and didn't add the same appeal back in with their deliveries.

What would you guys say the topic of the song is? Sex, Drugs, and Self-Reflecting?

Why doesn't the iTunes preview of Nicki's remix showcase her addition? The Eminem one does (albeit towards the end of the preview).

My guess is Theres a formula to determine what part of the song is played during the preview . I doubt every song is indvisually decided what the preview is . It's just bad luck for remixes

There's plenty of songs that even just start from the beginning and play the first 90 seconds.

That would've been cool if the Em remix sold the most out of the 3. Would've been another 1 for Em, and a first for Nicki. They should've just mixed it together like "Loyal". I previously mentioned that.

This has to be the biggest Hot 100 hit in years to not top CHR. Maybe since Umbrella or IKAG's tragic #1 blocks on CHR? Empire State of Mind would be another one.

Few questions: - did this fail to reach #1 on pop? If so, what song blocked it and for how many spins? Has it had any HAC support? - I haven't followed the pop charts closely lately, but has The Weeknd left the pop chart at all this year? (I'm thinking Love me harder, Earned it and CFMF could've charted with no gaps in between) - the bridge of The Hills to me sounds like a reprise of Kate Bush's "Running up that hill". Has this been acknowledged or is it just a coincidence that note progression of these two 'hill' songs sound alike? [And if I only could, I'd make a deal with God, And I'd get him to swap our places, Be running up that road, Be running up that hill, Be running up that building]
