- With Hozier falling off, "Blank Space" becomes the current longest-charting song on AT40 - Maroon 5 have the biggest moving song for the second straight week - Even though she's not listed on AT40's cue sheets, I've decided to add Bebe Rexha to the featured credits for "Hey Mama" - This is third straight week with three debuts - There's also a three-way tie for this week's Biggest Dropper - And closing with the three theme, there are three songs in the final segment this week which means Seacrest has a big interview planned.

Dear Future Husband falling off the chart from #18. That seems to be one of the biggest drop offs on AT40. I know there's more, and probably plenty, but what other song(s) fell off from THAT high?

"Best Song Ever" by One Direction fell right off from #17 (its peak) in fall 2013. I think last summer "Sing" by Ed Sheeran dropped off from #16 or something? That's considering only recent hits. The all time biggest drop off AT40 was "Even the Nights Are Better" by Air Supply, which plunged from #6 to #42 in September 1982.

Even though I was expecting a quick drop from DFH…I didn't think it would be so…rapid!

And does anyone now how he gets the info before it actually plays on the radio?

Besides "Best Song Ever", several other songs have fallen off from #17 -- "Wind It Up", "I Got It From My Mama", "Not Myself Tonight", and "She Ain't You".

Another big dropper was Janet's Doesn't Really Matter which dropped off AT40 from #10 in October 2000, about the time they switched from R&R to Mediabase.

This could save King for a while, but without promo the song is destined to flop which is a pity

Was that during the time they used an off-panel that wasn't what R&R was using? For about 8 months, AT40 used something else that caused a lot of strange chart movements and high droppers (the yearend chart that year also omitted He Wasn't Man Enough). Eventually they went back to R&R, which was used through to the end of Casey's run as host.

It depends on which version you heard. The U.S. version had an interview with Ross Lynch of R5 discussing his Disney Channel movie "Teen Beach 2." The interview was missing from the international version.

There were a lot of stats this week. - With Hozier falling off, "Blank Space" becomes the current longest-charting song on AT40 - Maroon 5 have the biggest moving song for the second straight week I believe Ryan mentioned both of those, with "Blank Space" being the oldest at 31 weeks. He also mentioned: --"Ghost Town" is the 50th hit for an American Idol contestant (at least the ones shown on TV) --The video to "Photograph" is 100% home movie footage from Ed Sheeran's family --An AT40 first: "Elastic Heart" is charting AFTER "The Hanging Tree," which is a sequel in the "Hunger Games" series --Nicki Minaj's 13th Top 20 hit --"Bad Blood" hits the Top 10 in just 3 weeks - the fastest since another Taylor single "Blank Space" --2015 is the year of the soundtrack with hits from "Hunger Games," "50 Shades," "Furious 7" and likely a new one by Ellie Goulding from "Neverland" (I forget what the song is called) --Walk The Moon was named after The Police song titled "Walking On The Moon" and they played a drop of it --"See You Again" is in a 3-way tie with "Blank Space" and "Uptown Funk" for most weeks at #1 in 2015

Phil Collins comes to mind.

The interview was missing from the international version. That would explain things. Indeed. I listened to the iHeart station a.k.a. international version which was just an extra-long segment with no other bells and whistles.

Phil Collins comes to mind. I don't think that's quite right. As I recall, they had dropped the R&R chart because, for some reason, the AT40 crew weren't getting the chart from R&R fast enough to accommodate their production schedule. So they, effectively, cut out the middleman and went straight to Mediabase for charts. In 2001, R&R made some changes. Their main pop chart became 100% Mediabase. All of the non-monitored reporters were relegated to a separate Indicator panel. This meant the charts could be produced faster and team AT40 was able to obtain them on their desired schedule. Thus, they returned to using the R&R chart.

^ I don't have it anymore, but I seem to remember an e-mail discussion with them at the time where they did indicate displeasure with the stickiness of some of the songs. In particular one Phil Collins song which was on for well over a year on the AC chart.

In particular one Phil Collins song which was on for well over a year on the AC chart. That may have been the case. I don't fully recall. The temporary unpublished Mediabase chart that was used DID have a different recurrent rule that appeared to pull older songs off the chart much faster. What I said in my post was, certainly, one of the factors involved.

It was nice to hear from Kesha on AT40 today. It seems she is still writing songs, but I don't know when we will be able to hear them.

He also mentioned: --"Ghost Town" is the 50th hit for an American Idol contestant (at least the ones shown on TV) What's the count minus Clarkson and Daughtry? The only other one I can think of who had more than 1 or 2 is Jordin Sparks, and now Lambert.

The only other one I can think of who had more than 1 or 2 is Jordin Sparks, and now Lambert. I posted this back in March when Tori debuted: -- 34 (01) Tori Kelly - Nobody Love (34) While teasing this debut, Ryan mentioned that we were, now, up to 48 hits by American Idol alums. With the help of Wikipedia, I made a list: Artist - AI Season (* = Non-Finalist) (Number of Charted Singles)Kelly Clarkson - 1 (19) Kimberley Locke - 2 (1) Clay Aiken - 2 (1) Mario Vazquez - 4* (1) Bo Bice - 4 (1) Carrie Underwood - 4 (1) Chris Daughtry - 5 (8) Elliott Yamin - 5 (1) Katharine McPhee - 5 (1) Jordin Sparks - 6 (5) David Archuleta - 7 (1) David Cook - 7 (2) Adam Lambert - 8 (2) Kris Allen - 8 (1) Tori Kelly - 9* (1) Phillip Phillips - 11 (2) Total - (48)It seems likely that this total will increase to 49 in the near future as Jennifer Hudson (season 3) is featured on Iggy Azalea's current single ("Trouble"). "Trouble" was AI hit #49 and "Ghost Town" is, now, #50. Subtracting Kelly's 19 hits and Daughtry's 8, there are only 23 AI hits amongst the rest. And you're correct, Jordin and Adam are the only others who have had more than 2. I suppose the next finalist we need to be keeping an eye out for is Nick Fradiani (season 14).

It almost looks like a block of oldies on the chart with Time Of Our Life(similar title to Times of Your Life by Paul Anka), Photograph with its several incarnations, and California Gurls (California Girls by The Beach Boys and later David Lee Roth). As Ryan also noticed, we get a King and Queen back-to-back. I'm surprised that Rihanna is still on here, and even moved up a couple of spots. Ryan said that Cheerleader is number 1 on the reggae chart, which I didn't even know existed. He talked to David Duchovny about a 6 episode revival of the X Files. Speaking of reggae where has Shaggy been for about a decade? Apparently still making music but without hitting the pop chart here. Too many extras around the middle this week. 23, extra, 22, extra, 21, optional extra. And on a lesser note, they haven't been giving us a lot of jackpots lately.

Sure enough, there's a reggae digital chart and "Cheerleader" is at #1 for a 12th week (while "I Need You Love" is at #2 and "Magic" is at #3).

--Walk The Moon was named after The Police song titled "Walking On The Moon" and they played a drop of it When did they play a clip of that? It must've only been on the international version, but it was going into #3. There was an interview on the national version.
