"Until They Don't Love You"(Shane McAnally, Lori McKenna, Josh Osborne) Reba McEntireAugust 2015 BCA: 52 - 49 - 48 - 49 - 52 - 51 - 52 - 53 - 50 BCS: Ain't one the loneliest number It takes two to make it right Just three little words I should have told you Before you left last night
Sometimes you don't love somebody until they don't love you Sometimes you don't love somebody until they don't love you Oh, you're lookin' so good with your bags packed On the front steps waitin' on a yellow cab And my heart keeps screaming "come back, come back, come back"
Well, I was a-okay taking you for granted Should have make a beeline for your door If you could see all the broken pieces You would redeem my heart for sure
Sometimes you don't love somebody until they don't love you Sometimes you don't love somebody until they don't love you Oh, you're lookin' so good with your bags packed On the front steps waitin' on a yellow cab And my heart keeps screaming "come back, come back, come back"
Don't pay attention to your heart until it's bleedin' Don't know what you have until you can't keep it Don't know what you want 'til you need it Don't know that it's love until it's leavin'
Oh, when you left I should have come runnin' You were right about everything I was up to no good and you knew it And now I'm down here on my knees
Sometimes you don't love somebody until they don't love you Sometimes you don't love somebody until they don't love you Oh, you're lookin' so good with your bags packed On the front steps waitin' on a yellow cab And my heart keeps screaming "come back, come back, come back"
It's a little too late baby I know That I treated your heart like a yoyo Give me one more chance baby Don't go, don't go, don't go, no

I was hoping for a ballad from Reba since the fall season is approaching.

This is the perfect choice! Very excited about this! I loved GOLT, but I like this one perhaps just a bit more and it is another one that will sound absolutely perfect for radio. <3

Yesssssssssssss!!!! Perfect choice! I'm one of the few who would've have totally supported them releasing "Just Like Them Horses" since it's my absolute favorite song from her in twenty years, but I am all for this!! It's an incredible song and will be great to hear on the radio!!! I'm just so excited!!!!
Also, can we talk about this whole Reba and Narvel getting a divorce thing...like please someone say it's not true :(

I just hope the song doesn't go to radio soon and that be like the topic of discussion before the song plays.

This is a good choice, but with Jennifer Nettles now without a label, I can't help but wonder if Big Machine would have gone with "Enough" instead (if the Nettles news had happened a week or two ago, or if GOLT had lasted a week or two longer, thus pushing the release of Reba's 2nd single to late August instead).

Boy do I feel stupid having said just yesterday that I wasn't sure there would be any more singles from this Reba album. I guess I was just misled by the way "Going Out Like That" started to fall off the charts as soon as Ronnie Dunn came out with his Nash Icons single "Ain't No Trucks in Texas." It sort of seemed like the label was saying, "Okay, we've got Reba's album out. Now time to move on to our next artist." I was sort of getting the vibe that they were only able to focus on one act at a time. It will be interesting to see how capable the Nash Icons label is of working two artists at once, or if Valory's promo team will be given full promotion responsibilities for this.
I know others have said that "Going Out Like That" didn't seem forced on listeners or that it wouldn't be a challenge to push two Icons at the same time, but my local Nash station had "Going Out Like That" in heavy rotation for what seemed like four to five months. While I did enjoy GOLT, it felt insanely overplayed and I can see myself starting to steer clear of Cumulus stations on my radio if every Nash Icons single gets this treatment in the future, which will become especially absurd once there are three or four Icons artists pushing singles at once. I can't imagine stations that played GOLT so heavily being able to juggle a new Ronnie Dunn single in such rotation along with this new Reba single, which is why I think it'd be a great idea to give this one to Valory for promotion and not associate it with Nash Icons. This way, the iHeartMedia stations could play it and Cumulus wouldn't need to overcompensate the way they did with "Going Out Like That."
As for this single choice, I am surprised not to see "Enough" getting released since The Highway added it a while back (not sure if they ever played it, but it was reported on All Access as an add about a month ago). It's also strange considering Jennifer Nettles has just parted ways with Universal, so now would be the perfect time to release this record, and maybe even hook Nettles in to a record deal with Big Machine if she's looking to sign with another major label that might allow her more creative freedom. However, I like this well enough and am looking forward to hearing it on the radio. I actually like Reba's album surprisingly much and there were a lot of solid single choices left on the record so it was pretty tough to go wrong with the second release.

I definitely think "Enough" would have been the second single if Jennifer parted ways with Mercury a couple months ago. They tested songs out a few weeks back so I don't quite know if they would have put the kibosh on that and released "Enough" if GOLT lasted longer (which would have been tough since Cumulus moved heaven and earth to keep it going as long as they did).

This way, the iHeartMedia stations could play it and Cumulus wouldn't need to overcompensate the way they did with "Going Out Like That." Reba's contract is with Nash Icon Records, which is a joint venture between BMLG and Cumulus, so ALL of the tracks on Reba's album are associated with Nash Icon. Also...while Nash Icon is its own label (a sub-label under the BMLG umbrella), Nash Icon Records does not have a promo team. "Going Out Like That" was fully promoted by Valory. Valory has also picked up promotion for Ronnie's "Ain't No Trucks In Texas", and I expect that they'll promote "Until They Don't Love You" as well. If Scott Borchetta wanted to, he could probably assign radio promotion duties (for UTDLY) to Big Machine, Republic, or Dot. But I just want to be clear here that Nash Icon Records does not promote the singles to radio, because they don't have a radio promo team like Big Machine, Valory, Republic, and Dot do, and Nash Icon currently has no plans to hire a radio promo team.

I will admit, this is not a particularly "country" song production-wise. I could see it getting criticism from traditionalists who are not a fan of more rock-edged country, which is what this song definitely is. That being said, it is my opinion that this song HAD to be a single because it is just SO DARN GOOD!!! This is by far the most radio-friendly song on the album, and I expect it to do at least as well as GOLT, if not better. I have been rooting for this as a single since the first time I heard it, and now the date is finally here!!!

I don't think it's a huge coincidence that they announced their separation and this particular single is coming out in the same week, it is a business after all. With that out of the way, I would've preferred "Enough" but there's a whole other mess to get through to get that one out, this one would be my second choice. I like just about everything about it.

Im not sure if the third single could or would be Enough seeing as Jennifer has parted ways with her label. I think this song has a good chance to get to the same place as GOLT. I would hope it goes further but depends on Country Radio. Edit 1: Also here is the new teaser they posted to Reba's twitter. Edit 2: Didn't want to double post so here is the new single cover.

Best artwork I have seen for a singe cover in a long time. Reba really shines and we all know she has always looked great in red. Plus, I really want to see a music video released for this song. It would be interesting to see what concept they could execute around the content of the song. Something more original I hope.

Yes!! This song absolutely slays!!! Fantastic vocals and arrangement; it's such an intriguing and mysterious sounding song and I love that!
I didn't hear "Going Out Like That" much on the radio except on one station that actualy played it quite a bit. I'm really hoping they do the same with this one :)

Fantastic choice. Her singles choices this era have been spot on. I'd love to see this do something but even if it doesn't I'm just happy that she's releasing such a wonderful single.
Also, she looks stunning on the cover. She definitely doesn't look her age. The red color scheme is nice too.

Recently, I just noticed that in all the verses there are pretty neat wording, like I knew about the up, down, left, right thing, but in the first verse using 1, 2, 3, 4, and the second with A, B, C, D. That's very clever writing. I just hope you guys could decipher my poorly written comment.

I also like that this is a song sung by a female & its about the girl doing the guy wrong for a change. There are so many good & clever lyrics in the song but the 1st time I heard it & she sang,"I treated your heart like a yo-yo" I couldn't help but laugh. To me the whole song is kinda humorous & I hope that's the approach they take with the video if one is released. I guess if they wanted to go the cheap route, hopefully they will at least release her performance of the song on the CMT Special but would that mean it wouldn't air on GAC?

Perfect choice for the second single! I'm so glad that they went with this. I think that it has the biggest hit potential out of anything on the album (even "Going Out Like That"), so I'm very glad to see that they're going with it next. I'm hoping that some of the stations that were late on adding GOLT will add this one earlier, so that it doesn't stall out of momentum in the 30s. Probably a lot to ask for, but I'm hopeful.
There's an ad for this in tonight's Aircheck, which says that this is going for immediate airplay, as well as pushes Reba for Female Vocalist/Album consideration at the CMAs.

Just a reminder that she's singing this on the TONIGHT SHOW WITH JIMMY FALLON, tonight. Did this get any adds this week or does this officially not go for adds til next week?
