It's funny how some people think the #1s look weak. But to me, the fact that 45,000 people are legally buying a single album across the US is mind blowing to me lol. It seems like SO much. I can't even imagine albums that sell/sold 1 milli in a week

Well, in my city, really far away from y'all, I can't find places where to buy too, all old stores broke, and the albums I buy I import them from USA

There are Targets/Walmarts/Best Buys/Barnes & Noble everywhere.

Mostly I'm referring to NYC. For a such a giant place, the few times I was there I couldn't find a good music store. The selection at Best Buy and B&N is so minimal. Although compared to Boston, which has Newbury Comics, which typically has a pretty decent selection.

Descendants did a lot better than expected! Although SS numbers can be pretty much anything. They can find 10k extra for Taylor or 5k less for Descendants.

I know that, but it is still shocking to imagine even 45,000 people buying a single CD. thats my point

^It's shocking to you, but not for the rest of us that closely follow sales each week.
More cds are still sold each than digital albums.

I haven't even considered buying a physical album by an artist since early spring when I bought Susanne Sundfor's latest. I will probably buy the new Janet album though.
Complilations are useful when DJ'ing but I don't buy them as new.

im waiting for the first label that decides it's not world it to press CDs anymore and goes digital only. Although physicals still outsell digitals, I don't think we're terribly far off from online only releases. BeyoncΓ©, Drake, and several others have had success with online only windows, so it's not that it can't be done, but for it to work the labels will have to invest pretty heavily in changing consumer behavior

I didn't know the Descendents had a new album out. I thought for sure you would've bought the soundtrack. It is the heaviest number one album of the year.

^It's shocking to you, but not for the rest of us that closely follow sales each week. More cds are still sold each than digital albums. Well I think that was part of his point too...he was simply noting how he was at the opposite end of the spectrum when it comes to reacting to sales numbers, not trying to pass that off as everyone's reaction. Although truth be told his reaction is probably closer to that of the 'general' public, people who don't follow sales and trends that closely, than ours is. WE know 45k is crap but then you have people who are surprised anyone would ever consider paying for music again. (Of course then you have oddballs like my sister who haven't legally bought an album since 2004 but get upset when she asks how Tinashe's album did a year later and I inform her that it's certified plastic. Like, come on now, what did you think was gonna happen when so many people have the same mentality you do?)
