has Big & Rich's "Loud" gone for adds yet? i thought it might have been like Tim McGraw's "Suspicions" and automatically sent to radio, but it isnt on the 'On The Air Now' list.

I don't think it ever had an official add date, so that's why I forgot to list it in the "On The Air Now" section. Thanks for the heads up!

From the "For What It's Worth" department, Rate the Music has a Rascal Flatts survey up, and the 3 songs being tested are "Secret Smile," "Every Day" and "Here."

I just did a survey for Danielle Peck's next single. The songs included were "Lay Back Down," "This Is Not Goodbye," "Do It For Me," "That's What Angels Do," and "You Like Me Better When I'm Leavin'." I thought the first two were ok, and the last two were pretty good. However, I really think they need to release the "Do It For Me." It was by far the most powerful song included in the survey, both lyrically and vocally. I think they would be making a big mistake if they don't release this song next. Outstanding songs usually have success at country radio ("Moments" and "Startin' With Me" immediately come to mind), and I would put "Do It For Me" in that category. You can hear a live version of the song on youtube.

Lyrics for "Do It For Me" (these aren't the full lyrics, just the part that was on the survey):
Imagine me packin’ up boxes Callin’ mom and dad Tellin’ them their first born son is gone Picture me fightin’ back teardrops As we lay you in the ground I don’t want to have to be that strong But that’s what’s gonna happen if you keep on
Throwin’ your life down the drain Puttin’ that poison in your veins Can’t you see that it’s killing me And I love you too much to let you go Down with the devil on a dead end road So you gotta (not sure on the rest of this line) If you can’t do it for you Would you do it for me Do it for me
I know you’re feelin’ so lonely Like no one knows your pain And you’re wondering why God put you on this Earth Well I’d be lost without you And I’m not the only one Who doesn't want to see you get hurt

Seems like that would be the dumbest move, even if Lila's version isn't making a huge splash. I've often wondered this about their surveys, but maybe they aren't considering the next single, at least not directly, but rather just songs for the album? Like maybe they have 15 songs and can only have 12?

Not a bad theory, but in the email I got for the Danielle Peck survey (and most others too, I think) it says "your opinions today will help pick the first single of a new CD for 2008."

the first single of a new CD for 2008 does that mean they are not going to put "Bad For Me" on the album? i love that song and really wish it did better. it was one of my favorite songs from her. "Do It For Me" sounds good though. i hope she can have a comeback single next year. and i am guessing the January 15 cd release date for her cd is no good since there is no new single yet and prolly wont be for a month or two.

I think "Bad For Me" will probably be included. Labels generally tend to pretend singles that performed badly were never actually singles (Miranda's "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" anyone?).

Does anyone think that it is strange that Trisha's new single goes for adds the same day that her duet with Josh Turner goes for adds?? Wonder how they will affect each other....

Wonder how they will affect each other.... i thought that too. i dont care for either one i am disapponited with josh's choice because there are so many better choices on his album. "Everything Is Fine", "The Longer The Waiting", "So Not My Baby", "The Way He Was Raised", and "Baby I Go Crazy" are all better songs IMO

S4C, either you're hanging outside of the country forum too much or my sense of sarcasm is shot. Trisha Yearwood sadly hasn't scored a number one hit in about 10 years. She could be the only one to release a new song this year and I'm sure a good 20 or 30 recurrents would still finish ahead of her on the year-end countdown.

FEB 04Katie Armiger “Make Me Believe”(Cold River/Nine North/Quarterback) Katie is only 16. I heard the song and she is very good. Better than the current teen sensation by far.
