Gotta feel for Luke Bryan. He couldn't have a worse Impact date if they tried. His song has to compare with the likes of Carrie, Tim McGraw AND Garth.
Ouch.

According to this blog, the next Brooks & Dunn single will be "Put A Girl In It." This will make two bad choices in a row in my opinion. The blog also mentions that Brooks & Dunn will be performing "Raise The Barn" with Keith Urban on the CMT Awards.

Or Keith better have another solo number. I always skip "Raise the Barn" when I listen to Keith's album.

"Raise The Barn" is AWFUL!!! i cannot stand that song. it and "GOd Made Woman" are by far the worst songs on the album; everything else i can bare to listen to. likewise "Put A Girl In It" is also awful. it is one of my least favorites but nothing tops "God Must Be Busy"

According to allaboutcountry, James Otto's next single is going to be "Ain't Gonna Stop". I know his cd is getting ready to come out, but I don't know why they would want to take any plays away from JGSLY. AAC occasionally jumps the gun (Cowboy Town comes to mind), but they're usually pretty accurate. Anyone heard what the adds date for Ain't Gonna Stop will be? At any rate, I really like AGS and I'm really looking forward to his cd coming out.

It's one of my favorite cuts. Me, too! I'm pretty psyched that they will be performing this live. I had been hoping Keith would release this as a single and was bummed when the release of his GH set made that unlikely.

Wikipedia lists Fine Line as a single to be released for Little Big Town. I wish we could get some official word soon. That is one of my faves on the CD and was really hoping for that over Novocaine.

There are better songs on the album than that. I won't believe it until I either see a true press release or hear it on the radio. B&D have been known to say such & such will be the next single and then the label releases something else. I think "Cowgirls Don't Cry" should get out there. I love "Raise The Barn" and have always wanted to see Keith and Ronnie perform it.

JUN 09Darius Rucker "Don't Think I Don't Think About It"(Capitol) Source: Allaccess/Impacting Songs I just realized that this is probably the same song Bobby Pinson recorded for his second album. If it is, I think it will do well for Darius. I remember reading an article saying Capitol thought the single Darius wanted to release first was "too country," and I can see this song falling into that category. Here are the lyrics: I left my last pack Of cigarettes in the back Of that long black Cadillac The day that bad habit took Daddy down Spent the next year or so Emptying bottles on a lonely road Until the night that train came just close enough To straighten me out But don’t think I don’t get a whiff of smoke And need a drag so bad I could choke I still taste the Crown in my Coke I know I’m better off without it But don’t think I don’t think about it I took a wood match To a faded photograph And I watched us split in half As if that hadn’t already happened I don’t drive by her house Hoping she’ll walk out I steer clear of that part of town Hell it ain’t worth the traffic Don’t think I don’t see two people in love And wish I could swing by and pick her up I know that road no longer leads to us There’s no need to go back down it But don’t think I don’t think about it I’ve got a ghost who likes to drink and smoke And bring her home at night He still rattles his chains but I ain’t afraid Since I got my head on right Gonna go the long way around I won’t take the easy way out But don’t think I don’t think about it

Those are some good lyrics. Can you believe they came from the same guy who contributed to "She's A Hottie"?

If it is, I think it will do well for Darius. I remember reading an article saying Capitol thought the single Darius wanted to release first was "too country," and I can see this song falling into that category. Here are the lyrics: It is a brand new song. blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.ListAll&friendID=233608069Friday, September 21, 2007 Hooties and Blowfishes Current mood: excited HEy Guys! A month ago I went on the road with "Hootie and the Blowfish" and wrote with lead vocalist Darious Rucker. Just got word that Darius went into the studio and recorded one of the songs we wrote called "Don't Think I Don't Think About It". This is for his upcoming country record on Capitol Records. It was an awesome experience, writing on the bus, going to the concerts, and just hanging out and being treated like royalty ..lol. (that never happens to a songwriter!) and Darius was such a great artist to work with. I'm looking forward to unwrapping the C.D. when it comes out! Someone from the hootie fan forum saw Darius perform this song at the bluebird cafe in nashville a while back and described it like this. Upbeat and emotional. I can't speak for the studio version, but the live version showcased the emotional capabilities of Darius and his voice. This was just Darius and another guy on guitar, no band, so I'm sure the CD version will be different. However, what I heard, I loved!!! Whatever you want to call it, country, soul, pop, his voice comes through. The music and lyrics were definitely country, but his performance and voice were not "twangy" at all.

Thanks for finding that. Too bad they aren't the same song because I was looking forward to hearing Darius' version of it. Pretty big coincidence in the song titles. I've liked a lot of the songs Clay Mills has written though, so hopefully I'll like this one.
