Could this contend for the next Hot 100 #1?

Could this contend for the next Hot 100 #1? Yes. Sales are rising, streaming is great, and his airplay is booming.

This is definitely going to #1 on the Hot 100. Much deserved for Drake and what I love about it is that it'll do so without a video, without any features and without the samples used being the main reason for its success (slight Anaconda shade cause that was the last rap song I loved and got close to topping the Hot 100). It's just a fun sing-a-long bop. Nothing more nothing less. Go Aubrey!

He is unstoppable. Hopefully his actual album can launch with some awesome singles.

What the hell is wrong with his voice on this? I really want to love this but I want his normal vocals back.

WHY is it impossible to find that Charlie Puth/Kehlani remix that plays on radio anywhere on youtube? Smh. It's the original beat and pace just with Charlie and Kehlani singing over it and Drake comes in on the last verse. That sh*t is FIRE. All I can seem to find is fhe slow version.

Copyright for new Drake stuff is pretty strict on YouTube rn. It may calm down, like Cool For The Summer/Good For You, or may never, like 1989. I presume it will appear when it clams. Or, if you have an Android phone, you can use the radio app to record it when it ever comes on air

The Kehlani/Charlie version you hear on the radio is probably made by a specific radio DJ who's mashed up their cover version with the original by Drake. That's my guess anyway, I saw it get one add on urban last week iirc. I doubt it'll get onto Youtube unless someone does a radio rip and uploads it. I've had radio edits of other songs which I've never found on Youtube (or anywhere else on the Internet), for example Can't Hold Us, Starstruck and I Kissed A Girl. I was thinking it'd be cool to have a version of Hotline Bling with Drake singing all the way through, and the normal beat at the beginning, but with the production from the Disclosure/Sam Smith version during the last chorus, and maybe an instrumental section with Disclosure's production at the end. Would sound epic imo. I've heard songs do that sort of stuff before, for example The Way I Are by Timbaland.

when's the last time a Drake song climbed that high organically? (As in not a debut sprint) I guess Hold On, We're Going Home would be it. I don't recall that one debuting very high (maybe in top 40 to top 50 but it had a very steady climb from there until eventually peaking at #4).

They mentioned on the BB periscope that this is his biggest hit as a lead artist since his debut "Best I Ever Had" hit #2 six years ago.

Drake confirmed a video for this is dropping soon. So he'll get that boost. Finally he'll get his first #1 (and outpeak his dreadful debut single at last!)

I think Drake must release the music video before Ariana releases her new single (supposing Focus will debut at #1), I don't want this to get blocked at #2 like Best I Ever Had

He has had a VERY impressive run, commercially (and critically/artistically) since his debut. 4 platinum albums in this decade is no small feat and 100+ Hot 100 singles has a nice ring to it. And shows no signs of slowing. He isn't totally my cup of tea but there's no denying the quality of his better singles. I expect him to be in the decade-end Top 10.

I expect him to be in the decade-end Top 10. Me too. It would be ridiculous if he wasn't.
