I forgot this was out! Was it sent to Pop Radio? Frankly, i don't think he has any intention to promote it. They did that new album release (with new songs) but it doesn't seem he is going to pomote it either. It's no surprise, it's clearly a soundtrack song (i think it's way better than reviews make appear) and generally Bond themes are just variations of the original and radio doesn't seem interested in it (if Adele didn't went further i think nobody can do it, unless it release a more poppy song, and that's not the case here). The song did its job (it's still doing very well on UK) and that's all I think Sam will dissapear for a while till the release of his second album or maybe he appears before that with a collaboration, he said he felt a little overexpossed, and for the type of singer he is being in the background for a while will always benefit him He will actually be on Jimmy Fallon tonight. Not sure what he's promoting/doing, but Jimmy just tweeted about it.

Here's a rundown of all of the James Bond singles that have charted in the US, to date. Tracks in bold were top 40 singles. Obviously, Bond singles did well for themselves from the '60s through the '80s. Their popularity has waned, considerably, in the last 30 years.
Shirley Bassey - Goldfinger (from Goldfinger - 1964) -- #8 (Billboard) Tom Jones - Thunderball (from Thunderball - 1965) -- #25 (Billboard) Nancy Sinatra - You Only Live Twice (from You Only Live Twice - 1967) -- #44 (Billboard) Shirley Bassey - Diamonds Are Forever (from Diamonds Are Forever - 1971) -- #57 (Billboard) Paul McCartney and Wings - Live And Let Die (from Live And Let Die - 1973) -- #2 (Billboard) Carly Simon - Nobody Does It Better (from The Spy Who Loved Me - 1977) -- #2 (Billboard); #1 (R&R) Sheena Easton - For Your Eyes Only (from For Your Eyes Only - 1981) -- #4 (Billboard); #3 (R&R) Rita Coolidge - All Time High (from Octopussy - 1983) -- #36 (Billboard); #30 (R&R) Duran Duran - A View To A Kill (from A View To A Kill - 1985) -- #1 (Billboard and R&R) Tina Turner - GoldenEye (from GoldenEye - 1995) -- #102 (Bubbling Under, Billboard) Madonna - Die Another Day (from Die Another Day - 2002) -- #8 (Billboard); #4 (R&R/Mediabase) Chris Cornell - You Know My Name (from Casino Royale - 2006) -- #79 (Billboard) Jack White and Alicia Keys - Another Way To Die (from Quantum Of Solace - 2008) -- #81 (Billboard) Adele - Skyfall (from Skyfall - 2012) -- #8 (Billboard); #38 (Mediabase) Sam Smith - Writing's On The Wall (from Spectre - 2015) -- #71 (so far, Billboard)

Generally his tv performances translate in good sales (Like i can really needed a performance to took off), and with the rerelease of the album with new songs is rare he won't perform (or even release a new single to promote it)

I do like the orchestral feel of the song. But I don't care for the overuse of the high notes. If he had saved those for the most dramatic moments, then the song would do more than just sit there.
As it is, I prefer License to Kill over this. Or Muse's Supremacy.
