Any guesses which label Shinedown is on? They're on Atlantic Records. Exactly ;) Whenever possible, Hits Daily Double pretends Atlantic Records and its artists don't exist. They didn't include Rob Thomas in the initial forecast a few weeks ago, and they regularly omit Fetty Wap, Ed Sheeran, etc from their radio chart recaps.

What was Hits' reason for snubbing Atlantic? I always forget, I just know it's something stupidly petty.

This is just a "forecast." More concrete numbers will be out tomorrow or Monday based on actual sales.
Lana could come in at 75k.

125k for Lana, could be better, could be worse I feel like she's made the same album three times now. I was streaming this yesterday on Spotify and I honestly can't see how the casual fan can tell her songs apart. Plus the songs are way too long.

Lana could come in at 75k. Haha you don't believe that yourself either.. Even Born to Die has sold that much this year and it's 4 years old.

^She could come in below 100k. Lana is at #2 in the UK behind David Gilmour after the first day.

I hope Lana's number hold, or don't go below 100k. I'm not here for another 'High By The Beach' 250k mess. I feel like she's made the same album three times now. I was streaming this yesterday on Spotify and I honestly can't see how the casual fan can tell her songs apart. I do not think that Ultraviolence sounds the same as BTD and HM. BTD and HM may remember each other because the variety of instruments. But UV is instrumental HEAVY, and her vocals are so different.Anyway, to each his own.

Lana's aesthetic and brand is incredibly strong (in the top 1% of all artists) but the sonic vibes on each album have differed dramatically. Born To Die was filled with pop hooks, melodies, and traditional structure (and by far her most mainstream hence it still selling the most). Ultraviolence was very alternative sounding, due to the production by The Black Keys' Dan Auerbach. It was Born to Die with a psychedelic rock filter over it and more "experimental" production and song structure. Honeymoon couldn't be more different than UV - lots of jazz influences, almost every song is a sleepy waltz. High By The Beach is a terrible representation of the album - sounding more like a BTD reject than anything. Edit: I realized this is pretty off-topic, but sometimes you just gotta put your thoughts in writing, you know??

^She could come in below 100k. Lana is at #2 in the UK behind David Gilmour after the first day. But it's still going to sell 30-40k there and she's a lot bigger in the US. I just refuse to believe that the big fanbase and videos that get 20m+ views ww on Youtube mean under 100k selling album this week. Until proven otherwise of course.

As things stand now, Lana Del Rey will top both our sales and SPS charts next Friday. But there’s a giant X factor—Drake’s Instagram has referenced Sunday as release day for his collaborative mixtape with Future. If it’s a giveaway, as expected, the sales chart won’t be impacted. If not, all bets are off. After one day of sales, here are this week’s key debuts. Lana Del Rey (Interscope) 110-115k sales, 120-125k SPS David Gilmour (Columbia) 62-67k, 63-68k Mac Miller (Warner Bros.) 57-62k, 65-70k Shinedown (WMG) 55-60k, 60-65k Keith Richards (Republic) 24-27k, 25-28k Andy Mineo (Reach) 24-27k, 27-30k Alabama (BMG) 24-27k, 25-28k Chris Cornell (UMe) 12-15k, 13-16k ( HDD)

I say Drake gets the #1. He's red hot now, coming off his popular mixtape, and two new hit songs (Back to Back and Hotline Bling). Many will want to hear more new material from him. He's definitely a lock for #1 for SPS I say, especially when he's (together with a lot of the mainstream rappers, + J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar) a staple on streaming services (NWTS has been on the BB200 since the new rule was implemented even though it hasn't sold much since then)

Imagine if Drake ended up with 2 million selling albums in the same year...unlikely but it could happen. Has anybody ever done that before?

They took out all the iTunes banners, very impressive. I'm curious as to how it will hold up through the end of the year.
