"Hotline Bling" one more spot up next week? It should switch places with "Can't Feel My Face". I see "The Hills" and "What Do You Mean" staying put.

So I thought I'd trot out this post from the summer of 2012! With Drake and Weeknd starting to battle it out, there's a high chance we could have the longest streak of non-Americans at the top ever. "Somebody That I Used to Know" and "Call Me Maybe" eventually combined for a 17 weeks non-US streak, breaking the record. So, between Carly, Gotye and Kimbra, that's 14 weeks so far that no American has been at #1. There are three four similar 14 week strings that I know of: - In 1964, The Beatles had 14 consecutive weeks at #1 on their own between their hits.
- In 1978, between Andy Gibb and his brothers, they also managed to reach 14 straight weeks at #1.
- The summer of 1985 has the most impressive streak because it required 8 different songs by 7 different non-American artists to reach 14 weeks.
- In 1996, Macarena was #1 for 14 weeks.
The only longer streak of which I'm aware is when Elton John's CITW had a 14 week streak on it's own, and was then toppled by Savage Garden for 2 weeks. I don't know if there are any other comparable streaks. We came close earlier this year, but LMFAO's SAIKI interrupted Rihanna's chart run. I don't think Ellie has a good chance of beating Katy to #1 this week (if Ellie even ever gets to #1), but it would be interesting if it could to make that streak longer. Or Carly could hold on for more weeks.

SIA - Alive: 1.320 (+ 0.316) That's all? :( It hasn't been pushed to radio and she's not exactly a staple in airplay yet.

Looks like radio is really starting to drop a lot of older songs (Cheerleader, Can't Feel My Face, Photograph, Uma Thurman, etc.)
I can see The Hills blocking What Do You Mean, Wildest Dreams, and Hotline Bling from #1 on radio and hopefully Stitches goes Top 5 on radio/Top 10 on Hot 100.

Bieber's starting to catch up to T-Swift. It's gonna be an interesting race for the radio summit should this rate continue.

NAUGHTY BOY - Runnin (Lose It All) f/Beyonce: 2.567 (+ 0.027) Why isn't radio playing this? Is it because of Beyoncé?

Disclosure/Lorde's "Magnets" is doing pretty well as an album cut -- anybody know if this is planned to be promoted?
Personally I think "Magnets" and "Nocturnal (feat The Weeknd)" are the only 2 songs on the Disclosure album that seem like they have any single potential. "Omen" is just a little too by-the-numbers.

I get why Rudimental is pushing its songs with Ed Sheeran. Better chance to chart and all with one of the top charting musicians.
But Rumour Mill is seriously catchy.

Why isn't radio playing this? Is it because of Beyoncé? It's not a radio single. But what does that mean exactly? It's a single and radio is allowed to play it if they want to, right? Or do you mean the label has to pay to get the song played?

Naughty BOy doesn't have other songs out right now so yes I'd say Runnin' is very much a "radio single"

But what does that mean exactly? It's a single and radio is allowed to play it if they want to, right? Or do you mean the label has to pay to get the song played? It means the song is getting no push to radio. There has been no adds date and the song has not been officially sent to stations. Any airplay that it's receiving is purely off of curiosity spins. I get that it's Beyoncé, and she is a staple on radio, but it's not even a hyped up song from her. It's from a movie soundtrack, produced by a currently one hit wonder, it didn't make much of a dent on digital sales or streaming, and it just doesn't sound like anything radio would really be all for outside of Urban AC, where I'm sure a good chunk of that airplay is coming from.
