This was horrendous when it was on The Highway and it's horrendous still. I thought it disappeared. Luckily The Highway recently got slammed over the head with a traditional country epiphany and they stopped playing most of the crap like this, "Ride", and "America's Sweetheart".

That's surprising. I really like that song but it's not country at all. It's definitely an Alternative rock song, she even had a #1 on the Alternative Charts earlier this year. That being said, I'd prefer that on country radio over some other songs though.

Oh look, another male artist with a horrible lead single....how revolutionary....
It's hard to judge an artist off of one song but good Lord....
Btw, y'all make me glad that I never listen to the Highway.

I seriously don't know what came over Cold River to jump on this specific tune. I have known this song since late summer; and, gosh, was I startled when I heard it for the first time! It has got zero country instrumentation and it has nothing whatsoever to offer lyrically. Shame as Drew has a distinct singing tone. Managed to get to #94 on netCountry in August and if I'm not totally mistaken also made the Activator.
The rest of his songs are not much better. Listen below:

I've been a fan of Drew's for awhile now. I must say his first album (pictured below) I think you guys would care for moreso than this Crossing County Lines album.

In case no one didn't know, Drew is a former Shriner's Hospital patient at the St. Louis Hospital, he visited the new facility in St. Louis about a month ago. Very nice guy.

This song is awful, but at least the production stands out and is different. When i saw him live he just didn't seem to have any grasp of who he was as an artist yet. Too bad, he seems like a nice genuine guy, but this is just bad.

The impact date has been pushed back to January 4 according to Play MPE. Isn't surprising since labels like to avoid the last week of December as an add date, unless they're a big enough name.

Cold River was able to get at least 24 first week adds for "Dance With Ya." That's the most Cold River has ever gotten for one of its singles on impact day.

All this song does is make me wish we had Katie Armiger. Instead of this guy.

What are the chances this goes top 40? Slim to none, I'd say. Cold River has a lot of money and I think they could eventually break through with a flagship artist (could be Drew, could be someone else) similar to what Black River has done with Kelsea Ballerini, but this song won't be Drew's breakthrough. There's just no buzz about him or this song, so Cold River should consider the fact that they got it into the top 50 to be a pretty good success, especially considering that, in all the years that they promoted Katie Armiger singles, they only got 3 of them into the 40's on the Billboard chart.

I really hope this song is almost done. Since this song has gone for ads in January Drew has made it only to #45 on MB and I think his BB peak right now is #48. There is no buzz with this song, and with the album out (I think this Friday) "Dance With Ya" probably won't last much longer.
