When you compare Think of You and Somewhere on a Beach, they're almost equally sized hits though. Think of You has been on Mediabase for two days longer than SOAB, and they're at similar levels in terms of sales. Dierks has a slight edge in sales and streaming, but it's not a large enough advantage that suddenly makes Think of You unworthy of the #1. I agree the push last week was a little ridiculous, but the two songs have been tracking almost identically for their entire chart runs. True, I think it's these pusjes where you see a song over 200 spins in one day that's crap right there. These large inflated pushes drive me insane, like what we saw with "Love You Like That" "Dibs" "Break On Me" "We Went" and most infamously "Love Me Like You Mean It". It's labels overpushing songs when there's no need, it makes chart watching at times boring. That's why I kinda liked it when "Save It For A Rainy Day" spent a few weeks on top blocking a couple of songs. Do I think that "Think Of You" deserve a #1 yes and no. Yes since it was a big hit song and a pretty fast climber to boot. No in the sense that it was next to another hit "Somewhere On A Beach" and I'd rather see one of those songs hit #1 for a while than both having only one week.

Yeah but SOAB has topped Hot Country Songs for 3 weeks now, so I doubt Capitol is crying. And it's still possible that SOAB becomes a multi-week airplay topper. It's obviously bigger and much younger than Snapback, it may block Old Dominion. Either way, there really isn't a scenario where either of these songs shouldn't have hit #1.

If it blocks "Snapback" I'm good than. It'll be a multi week #1 more than likely and radio will properly recognize the bigger hit out of the two ("Snapback" and "Somewhere On A Beach"). Please radio get this week right please!

Wanting songs to be multi-week #1s just for the sake of saying that a song was a multi-week #1 is just as bad as everything hitting the top. I like seeing songs occasionally get more than one week on top, but this one and Dierks both absolutely deserved to get there. There are plenty of #1 hits that don't really deserve to be there, but this sure as heck ain't one of them. I don't know this with 100% certainty, but I think this is the fastest rising song of his career, and it sold quite well. This looked like a #1 from the moment it was released, and I'm thrilled it got there on both charts.

It's labels overpushing songs when there's no need, it makes chart watching at times boring. To you there might not be a "need", but if a label feels that they have an open path to #1, then why wouldn't they take it? Look, I'm with you -- I hate the revolving door at the top of the charts and I wish competing labels would battle it out more often. But this is a scenario in which both "Think Of You" and "Somewhere On A Beach" have done more than enough to warrant being #1 hits. I mean, it was plainly obvious from the start that both songs were big hits and would almost certainly go #1. Quite frankly, I would have been shocked if either Chris or Dierks missed the top spot.

They want another week at 1? It looks that way. I'm a bit surprised, too, given that "Think Of You" had to be pushed ahead of Dierks last week. I didn't think radio would keep this one at #1 for another week after really accelerating its airplay last week. Part of me still thinks Dierks will surpass Chris/Cassadee for #1 before week's end, though. But I guess we'll have to wait and see. I'm just hoping that Old Dominion and Dustin Lynch get blocked, although I'm pretty sure that Dustin at the very least will get to #1.

I guess I'm not as surprised as y'all are that this song is maintaining. I may be biased by the fact that I can't stand SOAB.

It has to do with trends at radio (which are reflected by the airplay charts). "Think Of You" increased by almost twice as much airplay as Dierks did last week, and it can be pretty difficult for a song to sustain such high airplay levels, especially if it was pushed to #1 the week before. And that's exactly the situation here -- Dierks had the open road to #1, but he just kind of sat back and let Chris and Cassadee move ahead. Dierks will still get to #1 eventually, but I do think it's rather surprising that "Think Of You" is staying level so far this week, especially since radio seemed to prefer "Somewhere On A Beach" by the slightest of margins (both songs are young and have moved up quickly, but Dierks had pulled away from Chris in recent weeks and had built a decent lead -- that is, until Chris pushed back ahead last week, of course).

"Think Of You" lost 52 spins and 400k in audience today, while "Somewhere On A Beach" gained 78 spins and nearly 800k in audience.
I think it's clear that RCA/Republic wants that second week at #1 but Capitol's efforts look to get Dierks ahead, at least on Mediabase, by week's end.

I'm hoping that this can hang on for a second week, but it's not looking all that likely at this point. Dierks has taken over on Mediabase. Chris/Cassadee would need a serious weekend rally in order to hold Dierks off (but I hope that they can do it).

sales are really terrible, #1 song not even selling 500K :/ It's the #5 selling single this week with 22,000 sold. 324,000 have been sold to date. I am certain this will reach gold during the first half of summer.

That might have something to do with "TOY" not selling 500K before it made it to #1. Plus I feel like this could be a multiple week #1 and well eventually will go platinum.

She's been performing it on tour for the last few months and you can find a few videos on Youtube. It's a generic song about summer love, nothing special really, in my opinion. As a fan, I know she can do way better. But it's radio friendly and I hope it does well enough so she can finally put some new music out. - Dang, I really wish RCA/Rep Nash had pushed this for one more week. I feel like it could have been a multi-week #1 easily if they had let SOAB top the chart first.

Sales are down across the board, a fact that's been mentioned multiple times, and there are a lot of songs that don't even sniff a gold certification at all, let alone by when they're peaking/at #1.

This one has sold quite well, and it's chart run was literally half the length of the first single's so it didn't have a lot of time to rack up those sales. This one will definitely go Gold, probably in a few months. Getting a song to Platinum is becoming difficult for country songs, so that's not really an accurate measurement of success anymore.

I actually think a more accurate measure of success for a single is how a song does on the Mongrel Chart compared to the AirPlay chart.

Hopefully the 3rd single is "Heartbeat" or"Alone Tonight". I doubt "Heartbeat" will be a single as Carrie Underwood just released a similarly titled song not too long ago and "Alone Tonight" is very reminiscent of Luke Bryan's latest #1 "Home Alone Tonight" so I have doubts about whether that will get released. Personally I'd go with "Sober Saturday Night" or "I Know A Guy".

I'm hoping "Sober Saturday Night" Watched him close out one of his shows recently performing this and all I can say is WOW! It was the highlight of the show and would only have been better had Vince been there to do his part.
