Columbia has blown away all label marketshare records with a mind-blowing 63.55% of the frontline albums market and 48.65% of the overall albums market. No records will be broken a week from now, but Columbia will almost certainly be the runaway winner in both metrics once again. At present, Adele is looking like 850-875k for week two. ( HDD)

Basically, a little more than HITS' original prediction, which was only 800k. I can see this trending closer to a million with Cyber Monday, even if it misses the mark.

Is "cyber monday" really a thing?
(I'm not from the US, that's why I ask)

Is "cyber monday" really a thing? (I'm not from the US, that's why I ask) It's really a thing. Other countries have started to adopt it as well online primarily through Amazon.

Wow, one would think Black Friday is enough. That's a thing in Finland now too.

Cyber Monday is a thing, but I'm not sure it would have a massive effect on any individual album. Black Friday helps by getting people into stores (who then see Adele's album on the shelf and buy it). With Cyber Monday, if the item isn't on sale, why would it see a significant sales gain?
Or, is it on sale at certain e-tailers?

Great sales for Adele! I hope she trends a bit higher and manages to hit the million mark again. 4 million in 2 weeks is amazing though!

No album ever has managed a million twice. The closest anyone came was N Sync when they had 800K in week two.

Justin Bieber should see a pretty soft fall this week. The standard version of his album is $6.99 on iTunes so he's currently sitting at #3 and #4

HITS underestimated her in week 1, so hopefully it happens again. An 875k total for the week would mean "only" a daily average of 125k in sales. Either way 25 will clear 4 million sold in 2 weeks. It will easily pass 5 million in sales by the end of 2015, and depending on the impact of the TV special and holiday sales in general, it could pass 6 million sold in 2015. Staggering.

I really hope they're under projecting her again. She certainly stomped everyone's initial first week projections in the dirt. I'm definitely not ruling out 1 mil this week.

Those are massive numbers. I hope they hold off on streaming (even though I'm a Spotify guy) until after Grammy's/Valentine's Day, except for releasing the second single. Like Taylor, ADELE has NOTHING to lose by doing that. One wonders what numbers Biebs would be doing if he employed, say, one-month hold, except for the two 'official' singles. It will be interesting if more artists experiment with one-week or longer holds for streaming. With rare exception, I don't think they can go more than a month.

She has her NBC special airing December 14th right? I think the week that airs is going to have some huge sales once again. Hope she'll have a promo slot or two the week of Christmas. Can imagine her sales being huge then if so.

Bieber has a young audience, I think streaming only benefits him.

I knew she would not be able to hit a million in another week. As I said all along, the sales were inflated upfront. The Black Friday/Cyber Monday is not going to draw in much more. Of course, now I will get attacked (again) for saying this. Lol The numbers are INCREDIBLE. They are mind blowing, truly amazing and legendary. I'm strictly talking about the people who told me she would do a million in the next week due to the inflation of Black Friday and shopping. I am in no way saying these numbers are poor, they are truly incredible and it is exciting she is having another week near a million!! I am really enjoying the album more and more each day :) I also am really hoping that they will trend up!

There's still 4 days left and she can trend upwards. No one's attacked you, just disagreed with your opinion and given reasons why. If someone did, they'd have got a warning/be banned. I'm hoping she'll be able to trend upwards and do 1 million+ second week, if not the numbers will still be huge.

Adele will sell enough to go north of four million after two weeks. Her average after two weeks will be more than two million. Unbelievable numbers here.

I also am really hoping that they will trend up! Suuuure, even though you just had an "I told you so" moment. :) ~875k is the 'conservative' prediction, so it could very well trend up (or down) depending on how the end of the week goes for her. Either way, these numbers are hardly anything to melt down over. Congrats, Adele.

I am in no way saying these numbers are poor, they are truly incredible and it is exciting she is having another week near a million!! I am really enjoying the album more and more each day :) I also am really hoping that they will trend up! Let's just relax. The hype is starting to get too real. I'm still not convinced it will hit 2 million let alone 3+ million lol. As the articles have said, it is still too early to use predictions for albums with this new release schedule. Also, people thinking her second week will be 1.5 million+? The drop is probably going to be much steeper even with the "holidays" How many more people do you think can buy the album right away? lol I'm not trying to be a killjoy, I'm just trying to stay grounded. Then when it does hit 3 million I will get the excitement juices flowin! :) 1.5 million is much more realistic. I can't at people thinking she is going to do well over 2 million albums in a single week. Even 1.5 million is a stretch. I think she will be slightly higher than Taylor's 1989 first week. Is there a cover on the album like her previous two? And I can't at people instantly thinking that she is going to break records and sell nearly 3 million copies of her CD in a week lol this is 2015. If artists couldn't even do that in 2000, how will they do it now? Yes, it will be huge, and probably sell over that through out the year, but it a week? That is not a done deal by any stretch of means. Taylor Swift is a MONSTER and still could not do that. Even if you double Taylors first week its barely enough. So let's calm down
