Well since it seems like her label has given up on this era and the tour being over, I don't see them pushing anymore singles. I was hoping this would be her Breakaway era but I guess the material just wasn't there for it.
On the other hand, it would've been nice if they pushed a Christmas EP after the tour. It would've been a good way to keep her name out there through the end of the year. Between her doo-wop and r&b sounds, and her gospel singing past, she could have a great collection of Christmas songs/covers

Kinda upset that Better didn't fair well And was hoping that Dance Like Yo Daddy or Champagne Problems would be a single

Hmmm. I don't think it's a bad thing this era underperformed. Only because she still got two hits out of the album after a big era with Title so I feel like it stopped her from maybe being too overexposed/ annoying people but also away from flop territory so she's just gonna have to work on better material and come back next fall or top of 2018.

Any word if there was a music video in the works for that duet?

I feel she fell victim to the Best New Artist Grammy curse, honestly. I don't see her being successful again. People look at her as a niche artist. She tried to break out of that a little and it didn't go as well so I can see her fading into obscurity. She better keep writing for others though because that will keep food on the table, at least.

The curse had nothing to do with it. Her new sound and image just didn't comment with people who bought her first album. She can easily recover.

Time will tell...she wouldn't be the first BNA artist to fade away into obscurity. Some are lucky if they get a few successful albums first.

Any news? What is she up to? "Me Too" was just certified DOUBLE PLATINUM by the RIAA on January 11th. Not bad for a #13-peaking Hot 100 single! She filmed a video for "I'm a Lady": She liked this "Better" dance video: Also, she'll be performing at the Houston Rodeo in March:

Her blonde hair is back Hopefully her next album will return to the sound of All About That Bass/Lips Are Movin', however lyrics the majority of people can enjoy (anything like Me Too will surely be destined to be met with terrible reactions)

I loathed everything from her first album so much and I actually thought that the second one was an improvement. The return of blond hair is a bad bad bad sign. Hopefully the charts are done with her... Because I won't survive another "Title" era...

As if her hair colour has anything to do with her musical output. I don't think she should go back to the sounds she was doing on 'Title', that's been done. She should keep trying to find a balance between what music she likes and what's current because I really don't think her commercial potential has been tapped out yet. The songs and the image all need to line up which I think she's capable of.

I think it's a bit tricky because Thank You could have been a continuation of her Title sound and done fine, but she broke that continuum (and momentum) so returning to the old sound will seem rather conspicuous - and considering where pop music is right now, not even guaranteed to fit anymore. That said, it was hardly the sound of Thank You that was the problem. The lyrics were too off-putting for some and she tried too hard to shift her look into that of a 'typical' pop star when she had something unique going for herself. She needs to a) stay away from the braggadocio and b) sort out what her brand is, or at least what she wants it to be; the music will flow naturally from there.
I'm still salty that Better flopped. One of the few songs from this era that I used.

I definitely, definitely think Meghan has plenty of room to maneuver from here. "No" and "Me Too" were still big, she's an amazing songwriter, super young, and has a LOT of good will among the GP.
Her first single from her next album WILL get heavily noticed. I agree that it's really just about making sure everything aligns properly.

The Target deluxe edition of her album is currently on sale for $10, plus there's a 25% off Target Cartwheel app discount.
I wonder if they're trying to push out the remaining units they have on hand?

The girl can write a pop song like no one else.

"Mom" is still on the iTunes Top 100 songs at #89 even two days after the holiday. I know it made it to #11 during the weekend, does anyone know if it went any higher at some point? Nice to see when cross-promotion helps, plus the 1 year anniversary of her album. "I'm a Lady" didn't hit big (as Smurfs 3 didn't either), but neither did her other soundtrack single "Better When I'm Dancin'" during her run of hits (and that was for a hit animated film). Meanwhile, some news: Meghan Trainor to Receive ASCAP Vanguard AwardAnd she's on the cover of Cosmopolitan:

She needs to find that balance between the image she had in Title era and the typical pop star image she tried to push for in Thank You. She's a great pop girl, and her live vocal is really nice so I hope she can have a big comeback.

I get what you're saying about a "comeback" but a gold record and 2 double platinum singles is hardly a total flop. She was never going to hit the heights she did with Title. I think Thank You did fairly well considering it was overall a pretty mediocre record

Back to blonde. Hopefully, she can go back to hits as well. I really enjoyed both her albums.
