Zebra's Top 100 - Year End Charts 2015
I can hardly believe that it's that time of the year again, but here we are! The year has really flown by. Anyways, I'm thrilled to be able to share yet another year end list with y'all.Β Personally, 2015 has been the most fulfilling year of my life so far. It has been a year of growth, change, and self discovery/appreciation. Perhaps more importantly, it has been a year of happiness. I thought that last year was great but it got even better!
Musically, 2015 was pretty similar to 2014 in that it was full of new discoveries and surprises. The turnover rate this year has been exceptionally fast compared to the past few years simply because I've fallen in love with so many songs. I had 27 number one hits, which is pretty standard, but several chart toppers had a longer than average stay. It was certainly a unique year.
Anyways, expect this to (probably) start after Christmas. I'm definitely doing a list of my 100 favorite songs and a bubbling under section (size is TBD). I might do an artist or album list, but no guarantees there. Rankings will be primarily based upon my opinion of each song, but chart peaks will also factor into the equation. Songs can be from any portion of the year, as long as they've peaked between January and now.

Bubbling Under - Section 1: 200-151 I've gotten started on my list a little early and decided that I would present the bubbling under sections in the next few days. I was originally only planning to do 50 bubbling under songs, but I'm indecisive as f**k I wanted to give more songs the opportunity to shine. For this section the commentary will be nonexistent, but most of these songs either missed out because they took off too late, were peaking at the very beginning of the year, or peaked in middling positions. Several top ten hits also get caught in this section as they had incredibly short runs and high burn rates. 200. "New Dorp, New York" - SBTRKT ft. Ezra Keonig 199. "Too Cool To Dance" - Eden xo 198. "Never Ending Circles" - CHVRCHES 197. "My Way" - Fetty Wap ft. Monty 196. "Rewind" - Kelela 195. "Wet Dreamz" - J. Cole 194. "Unstoppable" - Lianne La Havas 193. "Nostalgia" - Martin Luke Brown 192. Top 100 coming now! For the bottom 50 I'll offer brief commentary, the single artwork, the peak, weeks, and album title, as well as a link to the audio. I might do something special for the top 50, but honestly idk. It depends on how I'm feeling.

100. "Used To Love You" - Gwen Stefani Peak: 13 Weeks: 10 Album: Used To Love You - Single
Despite loving both "Baby Don't Lie" and "Spark The Fire" (which, although not up to par with previous Gwen material, got too much flack in my opinion), I was anticipating something a tad stronger from Gwen, and she definitely delivered here. It took a while to click with me, but now it's racing up the chart and will likely have a bright future in 2016. Hopefully it'll become a huge hit next year.

Peak: 08 Weeks: 17 Album: All I See - Single
This is perhaps the most random song on the list. I heard it randomly in the store one day and had to find it as soon as I got home. I really love the production and the vocal effects. It had a quick trip to the top ten but an even quicker trip down the chart. I haven't listened to it much lately, which is perhaps why it ranks so low. Still love it though!

098. "You Were Right" - RUFUS Peak: 11 Weeks: 17 Album: Bloom I checked this out due to its appearance on other people's charts, and I fell in love quickly. I love the atmosphere of it, and it helped me to get more into RUFUS's discography as a whole. It faced incredibly strong competition right when it was prime to enter the top ten and just got lost in the shuffle. Kind of wished I had let it sneak in for a week, but oh well. :)

097. "Good Thing" - Sage the Gemini ft. Nick Jonas
Peak: 05 Weeks: 15 Album: Bachelor Party I really enjoyed "Gas Pedal", but I never really charted anything by Sage until this. I wasn't expecting to enjoy it so much but Nick's chorus and the "Style"-reminiscent production made it an instant favorite. It was among a pack of songs that dominated over the summer, but it got lost in the fray and inevitably collapsed. It's burned on me a tad since it peaked, but it should've been a bigger hit.

096. "Don't Be So Hard On Yourself" - Jess Glynne
Peak: 07 Weeks: 16 Album: I Cry When I Laugh Jess Glynne is 4/4 with me, and her features are also ace. I love the uplifting theme of this one and her vocals are killer as usual. I haven't checked out her album yet but I need to. This is her lowest peaking single to date (minus "Take Me Home", which hasn't charted yet - but will), but that's not to say that I don't love it. It didn't have great longevity, but thankfully I gave it a peak in the top ten. Also props to Fancy for reminding me to chart this earlier this year!

095. "Mountain At My Gates" - Foals
Peak: 37 Weeks: 03 Album: What Went Down This is my most recent discovery to make the list. I had meant to listen to it way earlier this year due to great reviews in its thread, but I just never did for some reason lmao. I randomly heard it in a Jimmy John's the other day though and I've been smitten with it ever since. I love everything about this, but I especially love the mellow atmosphere. As usual I'm late as fuck with charting this one but it'll have a bright future chart-wise! :)

094. "Ex's & Oh's" - Elle King
Peak: 07 Weeks: 17 Album: Love Stuff I discovered this in late 2014 (s/o to Spotify and King Kurt!) and charted it yet it never actually went anywhere. This summer I started to hear it again and finally fell in love with it. It's just so fun and has a badass vibe. King's vocals make for a fun delivery and I love the play on words in the title. It didn't last very long, but I'm glad that I finally gave it a chance to shine in the top ten.

093. "Something In The Way You Move" - Ellie Goulding
Peak: 04 Weeks: 05 Album: Delirium Ellie's had one of her biggest hits yet this year with "Love Me Like You Do" (you'll see that later) and I was SO excited to hear material for her latest album. "On My Mind" was somewhat of a disappointment and I couldn't get into it (until recently at least) and was let down by the whole era. Thankfully "Something In The Way You Move" turned that around rather quickly. It's really fun and makes me want to, well, move! Definitely something to dance to! This'll do well next year, as will "On My Mind". I still need to check Delirium out!

092. "Ocean Drive" - Duke Dumont
Peak: 11 Weeks: 16 Album: BlasΓ© Boys Club Part 1 I love Duke Dumont. "Need U (100%)", "I Got U", and "Won't Look Back" are among my favorite songs of the past few years so needless to say I was excited to hear more from him. This exceeded my expectations and is easily my second favorite from him (after "I Got U"). I love love love the production. I also love that this reminds me of the 80s, specifically "In The Air Tonight", which was quite random. Like "You Were Right", I wish I had given this one a top ten peak.

Peak: 14 Weeks: 19 Album: Riva (Restart The Game) - Single I love Klingande and the use of the saxophone in their songs. This is no exception. This took a while to grow on me, but once it did I was entranced. Blissful song, and despite my lack of commentary for it I quite enjoy it.

Great start Justin!
First of all, glad to see Klingande in the Top 100. <3 At least, it made up that "Automatic" didn't make it. :( Anyway, there are so many good tracks here, like the aforementioned, "You Were Right", "Ocean Drive" and "Something In the Way You Move", among others. Oh! And I've just listened to "All I See" because it was the only track I didn't know in this batch and it's a cool one.

"Automatic" came soooo close and was one of the last songs that I cut from my rankings. Sorry boo. Glad that you like the rest though! Love your feedback, as per usual. Thanks Juan Carlos! Okay!!! Where, when, and what should I wear? I'll look extra cute for you! He's mine There's more than enough of me to go around! Be nice and share!

090. "All My Friends" - Snakehips ft. Tinashe & Chance The Rapper
Peak: 09 Weeks: 03Β Album: All My Friends - Single This is yet another recent favorite that is being affected by a split run. I love the harmonies in the chorus and I love the introspective lyrics that give a new spin to the "it's the weekend let's party" theme. It reminds me of "Here". The production helps this to be still fun, which is another plus. I initially checked this out due to both Ryan and Fancy charting it, and due to the Tinashe feature. This'll certainly have a nice run in 2016, and it's even a contender for my next number one. Definitely recommend this one. PS - Sorry about all of the wonky image sizes! I'm not the best at the technical stuff, haha.

089. "Loving You Easy" - Zac Brown Band
Peak: 17 Weeks: 15 Album: Jekyll + Hyde I've always enjoyed Zac Brown Band, but for some reason they've only hit the top twenty twice - with this and "Colder Weather". Most of their singles stall out in the 20s-30s, but regardless they have a rather strong singles discography. I love Zac's voice, and it fits perfectly with this feel-good soul meets country jam. It faced stiff competition once it hit the top twenty, and instead of it becoming a top ten hit it fizzled out. Still love it though.Β

088. "What You Don't Do" - Lianne La Havas
Peak: 09 Weeks: 19 Album: Blood I can thank King Kurt for this one too! I saw this on his chart and had to check it out. It became an instant favorite, along with "Unstoppable" (which I need to chart). I love Lianne's soulful vocals, especially the part where she sings "I know you love me I don't need proof". It had a slow run to the top ten but didn't stay long due to not getting played as much as the other songs around it. That has worked in its favor, though - it still feels fresh. Besides, it prompted me to check out the rest of her discography and I'm in love! Win-win.

087. "Bitch Better Have My Money" - Rihanna
Peak: 06 Weeks: 15 Album: Anti (?) I've seen a lot of hate for Rihanna's recent singles on this board and I just never understood it. I love all of them. This isn't my favorite, but it's a close second. I really love trap music in general, so to have a trap influenced single from Rihanna was exciting. Rihanna's pop jams are typically great, but I really love ratchet Rihanna. The line "TURN UP TO RIHANNA WHILE THE WHOLE CLUB f**kin WASTED" is quite possibly my favorite line all year, and I love the video. This is a ton of fun.
