Vocal version of "Fade", a track which was uploaded on NCS's YouTube channel back in November of last year and it has over 46 million views there. This new version is currently inside the Top 10 on iTunes and Spotify in the Nordic countries.

The song is already a hit across Europe, especially in Norway, Sweden, Finland and Austria, where it has reached atop in those countries and the Top 10 in Denmark, Belgium, the Netherlands and Switzerland so far.
Also, the track debuts at #91 in the UK, mainly because of streaming, where it climbs from #94 to #64 this week. That said, although it's not confirmed yet, looks like a proper release could happen there.

A restrung version of the track will be released tomorrow. He said the following to The Fader, which premiered the video above on its site. "I wanted to make an alternative version to highlight other aspects of the song; to present it to another audience who may like Iselins voice and the melodies, but can't stand the electronic parts of it. I'm greatly inspired by movie soundtrack producers such as Hans Zimmer, and because of this, I have always wanted to produce an orchestral version of my own. So, instead of making the typical remix, my team and I produced and arranged this version of the track."

ETA: As a side note, Iselin Solheim, who is the singer of the song, appears in the credits on the BBC Radio 1 playlist sheet.

The track reached a new peak of #18 in the UK last week and it stays at the same spot this one.
As a side note, the track has been playlisted by Capital FM as well.

I wonder why a song that was such an enormous hit across the world and for the record has over 600 million views on YouTube never took off in the US? Faded only peaked at #80 on the Hot 100 and his next single isn't doing anything there.

Because the US was never a huge market for dance music, some of them become hits but most of them fail.

But 4 out of 10 Top 10 songs right now are EDM (including current #1) on Hot 100 very us-radio friendly EDM. 10 years ago it would be considered dance-pop. Still, this is a one off, not a general rule. Should I list all the EDM flops of the year?
