This will probably be an extension of "Ride" but more suitable for country radio. Probably a good decision business-wise, likely a bad decision in regards to my ears.

I'm already getting creepy vibes from this. I just have a bad feeling this will be a little too explicit for my liking.

That quote where he's justifying making a song about sex because a lot of people have it and appreciate it is one of the most cringeworthy things I've read in awhile.

Boy, a song about sex on country radio? What originality Chase will be showing! (That he promised....)
It feels like ages since we had a Chase Rice song on the radio (and that's NOT a complaint).

Yeah, I was looking forward to the more 'real', 'authentic' and 'deeper' sound he mentioned last year. One can hope there will be other songs on the album that encompass that more so than this one does. While I made the post I'm not totally looking forward to it.

I'll reserve judgment until I hear it because Chase promised us the new music would be more his style and less him trying to appease the masses. Crossing my fingers.

Conway Twitty had some straight up songs about sex back in the day, and nobody seems to deem those disgusting or vile. I'm curious to see how the production sounds on this one since Chase has hinted of a more traditional sound for his new material. I won't have any issue with a song about sex being on the radio as long as its not something too bizarre or dumb.

I'm hoping he stays true to his word. I hope "Whisper" sounds very traditional and that the lyrics are of great quality.

I'm actually happy to hear that Chase's new "mature" music was an exaggeration. As I rather enjoy disliking him.

Nothing groundbreaking, but this is way better than his past two singles. Loved the background vocals in the chorus though!
Edit: I can't help but think this sounds like a reject Sam Hunt track or something, lol.

If he wanted to release this style of single, he just should have stuck with Ride. Production is not good, and his vocals need work.
He's been taking all this time off and this is the BEST he could come with? Ugh. He can go away anytime.

He tried making "Like a Wrecking Ball"/"Ride"part 2 and failed. I honestly don't even see this doing well on the charts. Coming off two pretty big hits you'd think he'd have picked something better for radio. (Better in general)

This is pretty awful on first listen. Don't like anything about the production, beat, or vocals... and the song doesn't flow at all. It's not even catchy; just wordy and annoying.
And who thought that single cover was a good idea? Chase is sporting his creeper face.

I like this one on first listen. The banjo is a great touch on this and the chorus is pretty catchy. I think this is going to be really big, and I'd be shocked if this isn't a huge seller. Hopefully radio won't be hesitant due to the risqué lyrics.

Chase is live with Stormy Warren right now on The Highway. He pretty much said he's growing up and he got tired of singing the same old "get in my truck" type of songs and his album is much more mature.
They wrote Whisper for his last album but it was written too late to make it on. Stormy kind of brought up how he wants to be more mature but Whisper sounds like the old him. Chase said he just wanted to "get this one out there" and "get it out of the way." He loves the chorus and wanted to get this out as a bridge to the more serious stuff on his album. Pretty sure he just thinks this will be a hit and didn't want it to go unreleased, even if it goes against the direction he's wanting to go.
You'd think he would just scrap this and release one of thoses, but I'm not surprised. He said people that judge artists on singles are ignorant. Albums tell the whole story. He defends himself a lot.

WOW the iTunes SLAYAGE!!! It's only 10am and already #1 on iTunes Country and #10 all-genre on iTunes!! Dierks Bentley needed iHeartMedia hourly airplay deals and an Ellen performance just to match Chase Rice's sales. This is absolutely incredible and I'm so happy Chase is doing so well on iTunes with a great song that his *core* fanbase absolutely loves!

The fact that Dan + Shay much better song "From The Ground Up" isn't the one slaying iTunes and it's this song makes me sad :'( . I just don't see this doing well on radio whatsoever.

Whisper is, to me, EASILY the worst song released thus far in 2016.
