I find it fascinating looking at this songs gains compared to the songs around it. These are spin gains that include songs from Raelynn to Brantley Gilbert (since the beginning of the month)
Raelynn +213 spins Runaway June +206 spins Craig Campbell +307 spins Trent Harmon +200 spins Jon Pardi +561 spins LANco +103 spins Josh Turner +265 spins Brantley Gilbert + 479 spins
LANco isn't looking great at all, I know the sales are a problem, but Runaway June also doesn't have great sales and they are doing pretty decent. I don't think the end is near for any of these songs, but I think the poor sales are really slowing this song down a lot more than I thought it would.

Not to mention I also find it odd that there is (and has been) more than one song with more audience AND more spins charting below this song (and it's not like it's really even that close).
I feel like radio is trying so hard to make this one the next generic pop song, but nobody cares right now.

Wouldn't they have already had this song in the Top 30.

I mean, hell, I even thought it was OTV at one point based on its updates. The guys are unknown, they aren't selling worth a damn, and there was very limited research. It was pretty clear to me that radio wanted to make this a hit, and now they are seeing that A) nobody is buying it and B) maybe the research is lukewarm; as a result this song hasn't done much in the past few weeks.

I guess. My theory is they just had a very successful radio tour and long so radio was really on board with this song, but this came to a halt once the sales became too little to ignore

I'm just happy to see this may not be a hit. I have nothing against them and am open to hearing future singles but this one is such a dud with me I cheer whenever I see it get a bad or weak update.

You are definitely right about weak updates. "Long Live Tonight" lost 70 spins today alone and since November 1st (3 days ago but still) has lost 110 spins. This song has been bouncing around the 30s for quite some time now so I do believe the end is definitely near.

This one is finished. "Long Live Tonight" lost 95 spins in today's Mediabase update and is down 228 spins the past eight days.

I'm amazed that this just flamed out in the 30s. Yeah the sales were garbage. But I expected this to have a slow climb theough the 30s and 20s before a flameout in the teens. I imagine the sales were very, very, bad.
On the brightside this song failure means another position up for Runaway June (they made the MB pass today)
