Arista Nashville held an event at Jay Joyce‘s East Nashville studio, Neon Cross, Thursday afternoon (Feb. 4) to give the industry its first look at the newly-signed band LANco. I was there. They were electric.

Well, the vocals aren't working for me in that live video, that's for sure... song might be okay, but I'll have to hear the studio first. I was hoping for the lead singer to be a better vocalist, though. I've never heard of LANco before...

I've never heard of LANco before... Probably because they're brand new to Country radio.

Artist: With enough on-stage energy to fill a stadium, Lancaster—alongside bandmates Tripp Howell, Eric Steedly, Jared Hampton, and Chandler Baldwin—surfaced a style that seemed to combine the moves of Luke Bryan with the cadence of Sam Hunt or Old Dominion, melded with the musical framework of Coldplay or Imagine Dragons. Sweet jesus that description sounds like the entrance music to hell. The clip actually didn't sound that bad though, sounded fairly contemporary to me. Hopefully the studio version is tastefully produced, I'm at least intrigued to hear it.

They are fantastic live, strong harmony and the singer reminds me of Adam Levine a bit (moving round at times). Jay Joyce being their mentor ensures the rock-leaning sound. St. Charles is a cool studio vibe. Amazing projects have been recorded there. This song itself has a "We Are Young" vibe and feel

This is certainly better than "Trouble Maker"...it has almost an Old Dominion type vibe to it...even reminds me a little of Mockingbird Sun (for those of you familiar with them).
I'm not sure that I "love" it...but I'm also not sure that I "hate" it...as it's another tune that, to some, may push the envelope of the genre yet, realistically, somewhat fits in with what is being played on the radio today.

Well I'm gonna say that I hate this song. I'm already dreading LaNco. Enough of "living tonight" songs. It's been said before in so little ways. Anyway I feel this song should not be a hit and that Arista wasted their time with them, but that's just my opinion.

I hate the chorus... the song totally loses me there. Ruins the whole thing for me. Too bad too, because I really liked the verse.
Does the vocal arrangement in the verse sound... familiar to anyone? It reminds me of another song and I can't for the life of me figure out what it is!

Well I guess I get what I deserve for being optimistic about this. I like the lead singer's voice, but the production is just awful on this. They're clearly trying to piggy-back on the Old Dominion success, but it feels forced and unnecessary on this song.

"We'll ask the DJ to play every song from the 90s"--Really? Really? How can they explain this travesty of a song if they supposedly listen to music from the 90s? Did it all go in one ear and right out the other?

Sony pushed the add date of "Long Live Tonight" to May. The reason was the shakeups at the Sony Nashville radio promotion department and LANco's radio tour had to be shifted and delayed, so they pushed the add date back. Billboard said in the article that the original add date was February 21st...wrong, it was March 21st. The article also claims that the new add date is May 21st but that's not a Monday, that's a Saturday. Yikes, with these typos Billboard! I don't know what to think anymore, lol. I do know the add date was pushed to May. :)

This isn't exactly about the song (actually not at all). I just have to say that these guys might have the weirdest band name I've ever seen. I wonder if the push back for the add date is to try and possibly get OTV. I mean Sony right now is basically on a roll right now with 4 of the biggest female singers in country music right now (Carrie, Miranda, Cam, Maren). They also now have Kane Brown, a viral star. Established artists Kenny Chesney and Brad Paisley. I find it hard to find many weak links in Sony's lineup and if they score OTV with LANco that will give them another star.

I wonder if the push back for the add date is to try and possibly get OTV. I just posted why the add date was pushed back... Every new artist and their label would love an OTV selection but if you're moving heaven and earth to secure it, then you're doing a disservice to your career. The promotion staff was being reorganized -- that's all.

I keep coming back to "All I Want To Do" by Sugarland, specifically the line "I got my whole life to change the world and climb the ladders"

It seems to me that the only thing objective in music is sales. I don't understand why people assume that everything is fact unless stated otherwise, it seems it ought to be the other way around.
