hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=300499Saturday, April 2, 2016 NEW RELEASES: NEXT WEEK'S RACECould we see a split chart—or even a battle for #1—on next week's chart between Def Jam's dynamic duo Twenty88 and Warner Bros.' Danish breakouts Lukas Graham? Based on these very early reads, a number of scenarios are possible. Stay tuned. Twenty88 (Def Jam) 35-40k album, 40-45k SPS Lukas Graham (Warner Bros.) 30-35k, 50-55k Weezer (Crush) 30-35k, 32-37k As of Saturday morning, Lukas remains at #1 on the iTunes singles chart with the juggernaut "7 Years," while twenty88 rule on the album side with their self-titled set, followed by Lukas and Weezer.

Can't forget about Chris Stapleton, who is receiving press on CBS Sunday Morning and will then be performing (see: stealing the show) and potentially winning awards on the ACMs Sunday night.
Also - Adele has been selling in this range as it is, so she also could challenge the newcomers from a pure sales standpoint.

Did Twenty88 do any promotion at all? Also, it's only streaming on Tidal, right?

Kanye looks like his album will make a push into the top 10, with it being put up on Spotify & Apple Music. Perhaps even challenge for #1?

I thought that was the requirement in order to chart. Otherwise, it should have charted based on its opening week TIDAL streams (would have only needed like 6 million streams to crack the Billboard 200)

^It does as long as they submit those sales to Nielsen Music.

hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=300518Although sales will likely account for a minuscule piece of his total (The Life of deleted is for sale only on his website), Kanye West may be a contender for #1 on our next Sales + Plus Streaming (SPS) chart. Since going wide to Spotify, Apple Music and other services last week, preliminary data suggests deleted (G.O.O.D./Def Jam) is on track for some 90m streams, which would put him at 60k+ SEA. This would, as far as we know, be the first time an album hit #1 SPS with virtually no sales—a benchmark for the new era. ... Controversy is said to be swirling around the question of how any sales Kanye's website generates will or won't be reported, causing some drama at the Industry Bible regarding whether the album would be eligible to chart. hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=300499Stapleton appears headed to 43-48k in album sales plus an additional 10-13k from tracks and streams, for an SPS projection of 53-61k. Here are the updated new release projections. Twenty88 (Def Jam) 39-43k album, 44-48k SPS Weezer (Crush Music) 36-40k, 38-43k Lukas Graham (Warner Bros.) 34-38k, 56-61k

As a fan and a chart-watcher, I'm pulling for Kanye to be #1.
Seems like Kanye, Stapleton and Lukas Graham are all in contention.

Wonder how much of a factor Adele will be this week. She should be a ways from the battle at the top, but smack in the vicinity of the Twenty88 and Weezer debuts.

Why won't Kanye just release this on Itunes and other digital sellers other than his site? It's available for streaming anyway

Man, it's amazing how full of shit Kanye has become in recent months. So much for TLOP being a Tidal exclusive forever. He'd make a perfect presidential candidate.

Doesn't the article state it's available for sale on his website?

The fact that it is for sale at his website will not do much for his sales total.

Doesn't the article state it's available for sale on his website? Yes, but what about the 14,000 outlets that sell cds/digital albums? HITS has a blurb saying that his website might not submit the sales or that they won't be counted.

Curious to see how eligibility works; specifically, when would Def Jam/Kanye have to "commit" to reporting the sales?
What stops them from deciding to report the sales if they're sure he has enough streams for #1 or to withhold the sales data if they don't think he has enough streams for #1?

^Just filling out the paperwork probably.
No paperwork = no sales.

How could his own label report sales figures from his own website? How accurate can that be?

hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=300541Tuesday, April 5, 2016 YOUR TOP 15: TRAVELLER 'S CHECKSStarting this week, we’ll be separating our midweek projections into two lists, one for sales and the other for the SPS chart.
