Does any song peak at #2 on Pop these days?
OTOH I love this so if it's #1 indeed good for Adele.

I'm suspicious of this as well. I like this over "Cold Water", but that just slows down out of nowhere?? I bet SML starts losing spins tomorrow or Tuesday.

It definitely had a chance. It just started to slow down a few days last week, which made it chances seem small. But it was most definitely a contender.
Congrats, Adele!

Could the cries of payola please stop LMAO. I don't think this was payola. Just a concerted effort by Adele's team at her label to give the song one final push throughout this week to get #1 when it was well within grasp. As for what happened between the morning and final updates, IDK. Normally gains that big come from panel changes but I don't follow when those happen and I don't know whether one was meant to be happening around now. Even then, those tend to happen on like Friday/Saturday and not on the Sunday update.

#1 for Billboard's Pop Songs Airplay chart as well.
Bow down to Send This Cash (To Your New Mistress).

www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/7503646/adele-tops-pop-songs-airplay-chart-send-my-love-to-your-new-loverAdele Tops Pop Songs Airplay Chart With 'Send My Love (To Your New Lover)'9/11/2016 by Gary Trust The song is Adele's fourth leader on the list, and the second from '25.' It's also Max Martin's 36th Pop Songs No. 1 as a writer. Adele crowns Billboard's Pop Songs radio airplay chart (dated Sept. 24), as "Send My Love (To Your New Lover)" rises 3-1. The song is Adele's fourth No. 1 on the tally and the second from her album 25. Lead single "Hello" reigned for four weeks in December. (Between "Hello" and "Send," second single "When We Were Young" reached No. 13.) Adele previously topped Pop Songs with "Rolling in the Deep," for five weeks in 2011, and "Set Fire to the Rain," for four weeks in 2012. "Send" led the Adult Pop Songs airplay chart for two weeks in August, where it became Adele's fifth No. 1. On the Billboard Hot 100, the song has reached No. 9 so far. (Check Billboard.com later today for highlights of the latest Hot 100.) The official video for "Send" premiered during ABC's broadcast of the 2016 Billboard Music Awards May 22. 25 has sold nearly 8.98 million copies in the U.S. since its Nov. 20, 2015, release, according to Nielsen Music. "Send" also marks the record-extending 36th Pop Songs No. 1 as a writer for one of its co-authors, Max Martin. It's also his record-padding 31st Pop Songs topper as a producer. (Put in perspective among artists, Katy Perry and Rihanna share the mark for the most No. 1s: 11 each. Martin has written nine of Perry's No. 1s, and produced seven.) All charts will update tomorrow (Sept. 13) on Billboard.com.

Yay! Setting up the stage nicely for "Water Under The Bridge" to smash this fall/winter. Can't wait to start tracking the 4th single.

Adele has been so resilient this era. Even with a "slip up" like WWWY, she still proved that one song doesn't end an era. "Water Under The Bridge" needs to come and become another hit for her.

Lol @ all the whining about this going #1. Y'all wouldn't do well in the country forum. This is nothing compared to the revolving door over there. Anyway, I'm super glad this was able to get to #1 in the end before "Cold Water" caught up to it. Adele deserved this. I hope all the implications that WUTB is next come true, because that's another great one. <3

Yes. "This Is What You Came For" says hi. Shhh, that went #1 (on my mind). :'( Pop will not let Calvin Harris get a #1. He's the new Usher.

Adele only slowed down during the long weekend :) nothing weird about it Great to see her reaching her deserved #1! And a new peak in the hot 100 --although I still hope it reaches the top 5. So good to see that all of us who saw the potential of this song since the time 25 was released have been vindicated
