There was one but it got thrown into a different forum. Allow me to bring back Billboard.biz-esque (I don't actually have it) formatting:

Do you all think that "One Dance" will be the song of the summer?

Do you all think that "One Dance" will be the song of the summer? it doesn't look like anything else can overtake it (unless something like a viral remix or something causes CSTF to resurge)

I forget how long Billboard has done this chart, but what song has the most weeks at #1 on it?

I forget how long Billboard has done this chart, but what song has the most weeks at #1 on it? Officially started in the summer of 2011. Fancy spent the entire summer at #1 in 2014, the only song to have done this so far. Blurred Lines, Call Me Maybe, and See You Again each only missed 2 weeks of their respective summers.

Was the time span shorter then? I don't remember "Fancy" being #1 until Labor Day, but maybe the sun is setting on my memory. Ha.

View #1s for all years at: www.billboard.com/archive/charts/2015/summer-songs There's a small red link near the top that allows you to toggle between years.

I was confused about that at first as well

Cake By the Ocean gets washed out of the countdown this week while H.O.L.Y. ascends in. The entire top 10 is static (including 7 Years somehow; man, that's some inertia!).

Fancy was #1 on the Hot 100 on the chart dated first weekend of June, spending the majority of that summer at #1 on the Hot 100, and #1 on the SOTS chart for the entire eligibility period.

Paul Grein's Chartbeat article last week listed cool facts about Billboard's Songs of the Summer dating back to 1959.
This was weird: I thought Gary Trust only retroactively went back to 1985.
Have they published a list recently that went back to the 1950s?!?

So Fancy was 8-12 weeks at #1? Cuz I remember it only being #1 for a few weeks. It spent 7 weeks at #1. "Rude" finished out the summer with a six week reign. "Fancy" was #1 for the Songs of the Summer chart for the entire summer, though.

"Majority" was probably a questionable word choice on my behalf. I should have said "the most weeks at #1 during the summer eligibility period."
Anyway, like Fancy, One Dance will probably have at least 7 weeks on top during the Summer tracking period and likely will have the most weeks on top, making it difficult (but not impossible) to beat. Even with a potential smash from Katy Perry on the way, One Dance has a ton of points under its belt even after only 5 weeks, and should have a nice point spike from the video.

How long do you think songs like Send My Love, Me Too, and Controlla can enter the top 20? I hope these can get in and knock some songs that aren't as summery feeling off the chart (Love Yourself, Stressed Out, Work)
Where do you think 7 Years will be on the final chart? I hope its low because that song seems really old to me and is not a summer smash.
