Hm this started out very much like The Greatest but that sound kinda went away for me in the second half of the song. Just glad it didn't turn out like Don't Wanna Know.
I, too, like Castle On The Hill a lot more anyway.

I love Cheap Thrills and The Greatest, and is so-so with Don't Wanna Know, so naturally, I like this. The chorus is a bit too wordy, but I think it'll grow on me.

This isn't the knockout Sing was instantly for me, but I really like it and it does sound like a hit. It'll grow on me, and it improves as it goes along.

Interesting how the two single covers combine to form a division sign. SO SHOCKING that the album is titled Divide...! Maybe that's why there's two singles being released... it's "dividing" the single release into two! There are rumours that it will be a double album. One would be "-" and the other one will be ":". Also, there is a tweet from a few months ago where Ed said "Albums 3 and 4 are going to be special" so it makes sense in that way!

I'm not sure it's the best idea to have two first singles. He should ditch this one.

I just heard it and Jesus Christ what the hell is this
What I dislike the most is that production. He is better than this, "Sing" or "Don't" didn't try to capitalize on current trends, and this is definetely trying to be this tropical house dancehall song like Cheap Thrills or One Dance. It's not a bad song, but kinda disappointing.

Is it bad that I find this incredibly catchy? Definitely prefer the verses to the chorus though, King of great verses and mediocre choruses

It's cool.
It's very similar to last year's big hits but it's still very Ed.

I cannot stand Ed Sheehan but I kind of love this. Also unsure if that lyric video just hypnotized me

Love this. Hit #1 please.
I was a huge fan of Sia's last two singles so this is obviously a no-brainer for me.

I really like this on first listen. I can see the recent Sia comparisons, but it retains a more singer-songwriter vibe too. It actually reminds me of a modernized vibe of John Mayer's dabs into full-pop territory on Heavier Things back in the day.

After it goes #1, they should do a Rihanna remix where she does the pre chorus. Would be hot af.
Obsessed with this now. Both songs are great.

The most amazing thing about "Sing" was that it made him step into new music teritory without losing his trademark and style, as that song was mostly driven by acoustic guitar. This however... I don't want to use the word "sellout" but it is kind of sad, seeing people like Sia and Ed Sheeran water down their material and becoming this pulp without personality just to jump on the current trends.
Not saying that this sound is bad, I like these songs for what they are, but it's always sad to see big personalities fade away to follow trends.

I don't think it is Ed selling out at all. Why do people always freak out when artists jump on trends? Why are they not allowed to capitalize on some fame as well? Especially if they are bringing their own unique twists to it? There are clear defining elements of ED only in the song in the vocals, etc. The record has to have a single or two to sell it as well. If there are 13 records on the disc and 3 are "trendy" and 10 are all new sounds, who cares? I want Ed to be able to continue world domination and you can't always do it by creating some drastic new sound. But I still think he did a good job of mixing his own strengths with what is popular currently.

Ed is not the kind of person who is going to sell out like that. He likes making these kinds of songs, so he did. Plus, when playing it live, it will sound drastically different. I mean he wrote this song with Rihanna in mind, and liked it so much that he kept it. That should tell you all that needs to be told.

LoL, I really like this on first listen but I'm not your typical Ed Sheeran fan. I like some of his stuff. Mostly the singles and the song "Nina". So it's no surprise to me I like this after hearing comments here. It does have a very similar sound to "The Greatest and Don't Wanna Know". I thought it was going to pick up some at the 1:55 point. It sounded like the 2nd verse was setting the song up for a more powerful 2nd chorus but I guess I was wrong. lol It seems like the last section of the song he "Sheeran's" it up a little to remind you of who it is. lol.

While I'm not crazy about this, I prefer it to the other single; that one is a snoozefest.
