Considering that Strictly Come Dancing requires artists to sing to a studio track and is the UK version of Dancing, I’d imagine the same terms apply. It was one performance. Let’s move on.

I think she needs to stop doing TV appearances if she has to lip sync. People are not being kind about DWTS. If she lip syncs on the CMAs, it's not going to go well for her. As cody pointed out, some times it's the rules. She got a lot of flack for lip-synching the Superbowl in 2003 (mostly because at one point she just stopped singing), but that was the rules that the NFL and its producers put on the performers. This is a great chance for her to get in front of an audience, and she looked phenomenal. I agree, I hope she doesn't lip at the CMAs, but she's done that before, too (most recently in 2004).

Her voice has begun to change by that point so it's understandable (2004 CMA's).

This is such a mess. During her appearance on The Talk she performed LATGG and TDIMM. What is going on? Why not promote the new single?

Okay...I may not be crazy about the fact that LATGG was played instead of WGSTD. BUT...that was the best vocal performance for both songs. Sure she seemed to struggle a bit during TDIMM, but that was insanely good. Proved herself to the haters after DWTS.

When she says "the first two albums," she is referring to her self-titled debut and not counting The Woman in Me as her first, right? :)) I wish she would perform material from the first album- since she started touring after hitting it big, is "What Made You Say That?" the only song from the first set that she's performed? (and that was with young kids doing most of the singing hehe) The songs aren't as strong as what came after, and she only had a hand in writing one of the tracks, but I'd welcome her performing one or two of the singles from time to time.
There was a little less than two years between the first two albums, and then two years and nine months between TWIM and COO.

Wait.. Wasn't she supposed to perform at the CMA awards? Her and her team apparently backed out last month. I'm guessing they invited P!NK to take her place. In other news: Shania has a Christmas duet with Nick Jonas coming out tomorrow.

Stupid decision by her label, it was the highest rated CMA's in a while...

HITS is reporting a second week SPS and sales decline of 90% (14k SPS; 13k sales). :ouch: With country radio not supporting her, I wonder if this will album will have much longevity from a chart perspective. Ouch indeed. I was just checking the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart. After only six weeks in stores, Now is out of the top 100, sitting at # 152. How the mighty have fallen...

Sad to see :(
I could’ve seen Shania making a huge comeback maybe 7-8 years ago, but I guess this gap was just too much. Still proud of her for conquering her fears and releasing new music, though!

Unfortunately, she didn't have a voice 7-8 years ago to make a comeback. I don't care about sales, because in the end she is still Shania.

Unfortunately, she didn't have a voice 7-8 years ago to make a comeback. She still doesn't. Sadly, her "voice" has been replaced by a soulless robo-coder-autotune...thing that has no connection to the warm, expressive instrument she once had. Tragic indeed.

During a press junket in Canada in preparation for her Grey Cup Halftime performance, Shania did an interview with a French radio station based in Montreal. According to the native French speaking fans, Shania confirmed she will perform three songs: two classics and one song off of NOW. I'm assuming that one song will be LATGG since TSN has been using the song in their ads for the Grey Cup since last week.
She did say there will be a lot of elements to the performance and that her outfit will be a big part of the show.
On tour, she plans to do a lot of the upbeat anthemic songs from the new album.

She sounded good at the Grey Cup, sounded live. There were too many ad-libs in there for it to be pre-recorded.

Sad to see the era already over commercially. Hopefully they can release some music videos to keep some buzz around the tour.

I watched the Grey Cup performances on YouTube and I really enjoyed it. I kinda like the raspiness that her voice has now.

I bought this album but have only listened to it once all the way through. It just didn't resonate with me like her earlier work did but I certainly appreciate her efforts.

It's interesting that there is so much about her voice with NOW, but I don't recall THIS much snarking when she was in Vegas. Did something else happen between the Vegas stint and NOW?

No. Nothing else happened. It is interesting that people keep bringing it up though. No one complained when she used the studio tracks during GH days either. So, I don’t get it myself.

The only thing I find odd is that her voice sounds very different between "Party For Two," "Don't!," "I Ain't No Quitter," "Shoes" than it does on "You Needed Me," "White Christmas," and "Endless Love" and then different between those songs and her new album. I don't know if it's because different producers pushed her to use more of her voice, if it's a decision she's made... it confuses me because those on those duets, she sounds phenomenal. On some of the tracks of "NOW," it's like she isn't even trying. On the other hand, some of the background vocals she recorded are better than the lead vocals. I don't get it.

She said in an interview recently that she had to push herself to get to those places vocally on "Endless Love" and "White Christmas" and if she had to push herself that hard all the time, it just would be too hard on her voice, and it would take the enjoyment out of singing.

No Grammy love for Now. Can’t say I’m surprised. Was released literally the day of the cut-off. My guess is her label will push it for next year's Grammy awards.
