Lol, agree to disagree because I thought Sign of the Times was a total dirge that went nowhere. I couldn't understand for the life of me why they thought that was a good lead single. Sign of the times is better quality music. But you don't have to have quality music to get a hit on Pop radio. Ma'am, people have differing opinions. You're right that it doesn't have to be quality to be a hit. The other person is right that SOTT was an obviously poor lead single choice that had no chance at pop radio success. The rest about song quality is just a matter of personal opinion. No need to go back-and-forth about something that is purely subjective and will not change.

In the chorus, he sounds like Justin Timberlake but without the smooth delivery that JT can do.

Yeah, this is a Justified reject. And that 1D line is actually unforgiveably bad. That will follow him for the rest of his career in my eyes.

Parts of this is melodically similar to Shaggy's It Wasn't Me. I'm loving this. Best thing about this though is the single cover.

It's pretty obious that Harry's objective wasn't getting a radio hit. SOTT showed a change of path, and given his album sales it's clear that he suceeded. This on the other hand looks for being a hit, and it's probable that it became one. It's generic and forgettable, but very catchy. Of course Zayn showed that getting a hit doesn't build a career, but you must start with something

The more I hear this, the more disappointing it is. It's the type of song you expect a boyband-gone-solo member from 1999 to release while still catering to their boyband audience. This is even more boyband sounding than most 1D songs.

All around the world pretty gurls... I don't hear that at all. What I do hear, though, is Work from Home. Not directly, mind you, but the influence is there. But Justified era Justin Timberland is definitely the main ingredient here.

This is seeming more and more like a flop with every update. Hasn't even cracked 1000 spins yet, down to #27 on iTunes. Surprising considering this had huge hype.

I want to love this. It's good. Hoped for more. Can't get past the corny 1D line. Ready to see what the next song is.

I don't see how the one d line is so talked about. It's cute and fun. THIS is the solo single I wanted from one of the boys. The others have put out quality material but I don't want to dance in the summer to sign of the times. This is a nice song to relax and enjoy. Doesn't have to always be about quality. It's fun and perfect for radio

This is what happens when you're last to the party- everyone else has found their place and you're left standing there with Quavo.

He definitely has the most stage presence of all the members. This was good. The song came up on shuffle today and it just...clicked. Liking it now.

Louie hasn't released any music though? He seems more interested in the business side of the music industry.

To be honest, out of this, "This Town," "Sign of the Times" and "Pillowtalk" this is the only one I actually decided to listen to on it's own organically. The rest I simply tolerate and/or somewhat enjoy on the radio.
"Slow Hands" is probably the best effort so far.
