I've been attending these every year since 2009 and I also attended the "ACCAs" (the one and only year they had that, lol) and that was at the Music City Center. Will be very interested to see what these will be like with the venue change. Thinking a bit of a cluster, but at least they're being very accommodating and supportive of our Preds!! Nominations should be out tomorrow, correct? Waiting on that and ticket info!!

Where the heck are they having this at the Music City Center? Anywhere in there has got to be significantly smaller than Bridgestone...

Haha, thank you Where the heck are they having this at the Music City Center? Anywhere in there has got to be significantly smaller than Bridgestone... Oh, it for sure will be. Curious to see how this is gonna all play out... Not to mention, tickets are always near impossible to come by. It'll be 10 times worse now!

Full list of nominees are up.
Few observations:
- 15 nominees for Video of the Year with Blake, Eric & Jason not included seems odd. - Jon Pardi got Video but Brett Young didnt? Would argue Brett's song is much bigger. - Seems odd to include Midland, but not Rascal Flatts - Love the Lauren Alania love...think she has a shot in Breakthrough - I think you should have to actually be in the video to get a nomination...sorry, not sorry Pink & Kenny

Oh my, the stage is set for a train wreck with FGL and The Chainsmokers! I don't mind Florida Georgia Line but I do not want The Chainsmokers anywhere near country music. I hate their stuff on pop radio enough as it is.

They were featured on The Chainsmokers' album that just came out recently. The performance will more than likely just be them in the background "DJing" while FGL are up front singing it.

Actually I'd expect that somehow that song is part of the performance, probably coupled God, your Mama, and Me. Also yet another reason to not watch the CMT awards.

Keith has also posted that they're working on a "different take on the song" - wonder what they have up their sleeves..

Final Video Of The Year nominations have been announced:
Finalists are: Forever Country, Carrie Underwood, Cole Swindell (this is a surprise to me), FGL, Keith Urban, Luke Bryan & Miranda Lambert
Missing the cut are: Brad Paisley, Brett Eldredge, Dierks Bentley & Elle King, Jon Pardi, Kelsea Ballerini, Little Big Town (shocked fans didn't vote this through), and Thomas Rhett.

Well, that's a first, really disliked that performance by Miranda.
Also the opening was terrible
And this Keith/Carrie remake is......um interesting?

Random thoughts so far... - Thomas Rhett should not be dancing - 'Pink Sunglasses' was introduced as Miranda's new single... interesting choice if true - The fighter remake was surprisingly good

Thought Thomas and Blake were the best thus far but no one has sounded bad.
Love, love the winners thus far. Lauren's speech was awesome,

"Tin Man" hasn't even been out for 3 months, barely 2. If "Pink Sunglasses" is the new single it's their best chance to score a hit off that album I guess.

I would be completely and totally stunned if Pink Sunglasses was a single, and even more stunned if it was a hit. The responses to it tonight on FB were savage. Also I'm still trying to decide if I like the new Keith/Carrie interpretation... it's probably good? But it's close enough to the original that I just keep hearing the differences.

RIP "Tin Man." "Pink Sunglasses" was always my least favorite of all 24 tracks from TWOTW. Still better than most songs performed tonight, though, so I'll take what I can get! The song likely won't do anything at radio bc radio.
They also announced Lauren as the winner, and then proceeded to have the rest of the nominees perform throughout the evening, including Chris, who performed directly after her accepted speech, lol. I'm a liar.
Anyways, the 'remake' of "The Fighter" was pretty predictable, but the first half was pretty nice. Would've preferred it to be entirely stripped down. It was nice to be able to experience them use their vocal talents on it. Carrie damn-near stopped airflow.
Oh, and I still really hate the "When someone stops loving you / It don't make the evening news" line in this LBT song. But the song itself is pretty.
