This is pretty good, although sounds maybe a little too familiar on first listen? Not as epic as "Shut Up + Dance", and not as smooth as "Aquaman", but somewhere in the middle.

...I really, REALLY wanted to like this more than I do. I like it enough, but it's no "Shut Up and Dance".
On a happier note, I have no doubt in my mind that this is going to be huge, at least on Alt. Will probably be the song to unseat "Thunder" from #1, once it (inevitably) gets to #1.

Didn't like this that much on first listen. By the end of the second listen I was hooked. It's really great.

This song is their worst release and embarrassing to quality songs like Anna Sun. They are trying too hard to mimic the 80s with all of these goofy sound effects. In my opinion this will make it to the teens and then this group will be dropped all together by the Alternative format. They are clearly trying to cash in on Top 40 and since this song has many elements that make it sound ordinary to everything else out there, I don't think it even cracks the Top 30 over there.
This song is a clear indication that no groups who has had prior hits have any concept to what the "new" or a new sound in general should be like. Taking over three years for this to be a first single is completely unoriginal. The fact this will outpeak The National, The War on Drugs, and AAA acts who actually seem like they are attempting to move Alt-Rock a different direction is blasphemy.
This is absolute rubbish.

Even though I do like this, I totally agree with this. I still see this being a big Alt hit, and they will continue to get hits, but I can only see like a Top 30 showing for this on CHR.

on my first listen this isn't bad but it's really underwhelming (especially considering their last two leads) and I can't see myself listening to this too much
maybe it will hook me later idk lmao

Even without having listened to this, and seeing that *some* people like this, I'm still predicting this goes to #1. If only because the competition is so weak right now - after "Thunder", the only other song I see as a potential #1 contender is "Up All Night". The fact that "Feel It Still" and especially "Wish I Knew You" are hanging around so long means there's a clear lack of songs the format can really get behind. The format itself doesn't even seem to have an idea of what the "new sound" should be, and I just don't see acts like the The War on Drugs and The National ever fully clicking with the masses. I think we're just waiting for the next big new thing at this point.

This, its chorus specifically, reminds me of the Ciara song "Livin' It Up".
I like it. My favorite by them since "Shut Up And Dance". Is there any link to the rock mix?

Hopefully, The War on Drugs and The National won't try to appeal the masses and continue delivering.

There are parts of this I like, (the guitar is really nice) but the synth and voice that does the "ooh-ooh" in the background throughout is really annoying. Understandably they went poppy to try and crossover again but I'm not sure if it did their sound any favors.

This really reminds me of if American Authors and Imagine Dragons had a baby. I don't hate the song, but man those high notes and weird noises are annoying as hell. This is super duper poppy and that goofy dance the singer is doing is along with the guitarists rocking out like this is a hard rock song is quite amusing.

Chorus seems really off to me, but I guess I have to hear it some more
About The National and War On Drugs, they really don't write clear hooks to their songs, at least not repetetive hooks, so the stuff is really subtle and does better on non-commercial radio- I'm not sure if either band really wants their songs on power rotation 70 times a week- I feel like they're more album-based bands
Also, with the War On Drugs, it's really hard to make out the lyrics

A rock mix has been sent to Alternative and AAA. Now this might be interesting. Some raw guitar works would do this song some good, because the more I listen to this, the more I get those nasty vibes , some of you all are getting. "one Foot to The Ass" is more like what they are giving us with this bull.

American Authors + Imagine Dragons is giving me the chills for how bad that would be. It would be like a modern version of Spin Doctors and Smash Mouth combined for something 20 years ago. Which if that happened everyone would have died.

This doesn't tread any new ground but if Walk The Moon didn't have prior success, there wouldn't be as much handwringing about this one.
This is a good song. I'm guessing it'll peak at #2 on alternative and peak at #12 on the pop chart.
