With all the grumbling about this song I expect it'll be a big hit. It's undeniably catchy. Plus it's being played at bars already so looks like a good sign. Same bar followed it with Savage Garden “Affirmation” so I don’t know about that

Honestly when I heard it I didn't really like it I am literally drinking a beer right now as we speak and this is on at the bar, this song is absolutely garbage. It really is a hot mess, the pre-chorus seriously hurts my ears with the possible howling and killing of a bad guy noise from Castlevania in the 90s. Also did we have to put the “hey!” In the song too. Dumb. That is all. Come on, man- I feel like you need a few more beers to mellow out I agree that it's kind of dumb, but I wouldn't call it garbage

Interesting. In an article with Rolling Stone they said that the album is more rock based than it is pop.
This reflects the opposite of that, lol.

I mean to be fair this isn't super poppy or anything, I dunno why people seem to think they pulled a One More Light. Their past singles struck a nice balance between the two and I have no reason to believe this won't as well. Also I fuc king love this now. Honestly can't believe there's so much hatred towards it, this is so fun and just pumps me up every time I hear it. That chorus and especially that "drop" is fantastic. I know I'm probably alone in this, but I think this is way better then Anna Sun or Shut Up and Dance.

"Anna Sun" was probably their rockiest song

"Anna Sun" was probably their rockiest song "Different Colors" was pretty rock leaning too. The guitars were very noticeable in that one.

So I did some hard core breaking down of this song. gave it 5 listens in a row, and realized that it gets better as the song commences. The intro is the only part that kinda sucks. Once the guitars kick in : I found myself in familiar Walk The Moon territory. The drop is what I would call the breakdown. That's the part with the 80's feel. I'm not gonna apologize for my initial thoughts, but it could turn out to be a grower and maybe make a cameo appearance on my charts? Kinda like Fitz and the Tantrums "Handjob" did. maybe?

I think this is miles better than Imagine Dragons' Thunder though.

I think this is miles better than Imagine Dragons' Thunder though. Those two songs are not even in the same ballpark. "Thunder" is quite possibly the worst song of 2017. This is not.

Best part is that this finally knocks off Suit & Jacket off the top 10.
I have mixed feelings about this song. It's catchy and fun, but I cringe at the "flex with us" line in the second verse. Still, better than several other songs on the chart. For the most part I like it.

Rather weak bullet though, I don’t see it getting any higher than #8

Man was this a turn off. Now it just sounds like a song any fool can perform on a street corner? Who does a acoustic version of a synthpop song? Acoustic "Don't You Want Me Baby" would not work. The scary thing is that most comments on youtube were positive. They will probably release a version like this for CHR?

Looks like it'll be a decent-sized pop hit at least

I'm super happy this appears to be recovering on alt and CHR! CHR has been seemingly a lot more friendly to followups from alt bands lately considering how well Unsteady and Ride did and now this.

I can't remember the last time an Alt song was sent to pop this quickly - I guess that means this must really be catching on

I can't remember the last time an Alt song was sent to pop this quickly - I guess that means this must really be catching on I hope it does. I love WALK THE MOON. And even if that new album was hit or miss they deserve any success they have coming towards them. But this will NEVER be as big as Shut Up and Dance that’s a guarantee.

But yeah, I'm super surprised this has caught on so quickly at CHR considering even the two Imagine Dragons singles from this era took longer to do something over there.

This is very much on the pop side of the spectrum, but it is also insanely catchy. Not as good as some of the best songs on the last album, but I'll easily take this over the majority of songs in top 10 right now.

Has anyone bothered to preview the "What If Nothing" album. They have uploaded some songs up on youtube. All I can say is don't judge by this "footjob" song alone. The rest of the albums groove is very much WalK The Moon we prefer. I review three of my favs tonight.
"Tiger Teeth" turned out to be a pleasant 80's shot I was waiting for. Not the poprock style of "Shut Up and Dance" , but more along the lines of proper synthpop. has a bit of that 1975 airy synthpop. Pretty damn great song. I gave download action to that one almost immediately.
"Can't Sleep (Wolves)". Another great one. More guitar in this one too, but still very 80's in his vocal tones and melodies. I got Freeweights vibes here. Second download of the night.
"Headphones". This is one of my favs. This is unlike anything I ever heard from the band. It's Walk The Moon doing garage rock style. Think The Strokes, The Hives or even Jack Black. This shit rocks proper.

I've heard the album once through. I remember "Headphones" being a stand out track from it, but I'd have to get more used to the individual tracks to get a better idea. Pretty good album though. Maybe about on par with their self-titled? "Talking is Hard" will probably be hard to beat for many years to come.

See, I thought the album was quite disappointing. Their new sound is way too dated dubstep sounding. The only other songs I really cared for where "Surrender" and "Tiger Teeth". "Headphones" is just a wall of noise.
