What are some instances in songs where the artists either themselves, coming close to swearing but cutting themselves off, or cover a song by someone else but change objectionable lyrics or words? A few instances that I can think of off the top of my head:
Cher Lloyd - Want U Back (I don't give a shhh) Johnny Cash - Hurt (changed shit to thorns) Ed Sheeran - multiple places on his second album (ughhh)
What are some other examples you guys can think of?

Other ones off the top of my head:
Theory of a Deadman - "Rx" (I am so freaking bored...) Nick Jonas - "Jealous" (You're so fucking beautiful, and everyone wants your sex)

Keri Hilson - The Way You Love Me (an explicit version exists though it was never released but it did leak) Lil' Kim - How Many Licks Madonna - Bye Bye Baby Madonna - Holy Water Mariah Carey - Say Somethin' Nick Jonas - "Jealous" (You're so f ucking beautiful, and everyone wants your sex) There is an explicit version that is posted on Nick's YouTube channel but the clean version is on the album and that is the standard version. www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKjfCBOTRZ0Definitely Don't by Ed Sheeran comes to mind. I was irritated by the fact that the remix with the random rapper on it has the f-bombs uncensored.

Missy Elliott often does it sometimes where some words in a song are censored and some aren't.

In Em Beihold’s “Porcelain,” one of the lyrics is “My bones are made of glass, what a pain in the -,” but instead of saying “ass,” she sighs (which I’ve always found cute lol). However, in “Pedestal” (another song written around the same time), she says “you took over my goddamn mind” without self-censoring, so I’m not quite sure why she self-censored “ass,” as I don’t think that’s any worse than “goddamn.”
Another example that comes to mind in is the Beastie Boys’ “Brass Monkey,” they self-censor in the line “We’ve got the bottle, you’ve got the cup, come on everybody let’s get -.” It then leads back into the chorus rather than them saying “fucked up” as the listener would expect. Presumably, this was done to tease/troll the listener as part of their more comedic/tongue-in-cheek image.
One more tangential example that’s always been kinda weird to me is that Ke$ha self-censored her whole first album, except “shit talker” in the chorus of “Backstabber,” despite that all other instances of “shit” were censored.

I don't think that one counts as self-censoring lol, the acoustic version uses the exact same vocal uncensored, the 'woop woop woop' in the main version was an artistic choice by Clean Bandit.

I think your fave Sabrina did it in "Pushing 20" also. ("Act like I don't give a uhhhh...")
