First single release from Brothers Osborne since repeating as Vocal Duo of the Year by the C.M.A.. Hopefully, a #1 can come out of it. They were so close in early 2016 when Stay A Little Longer peaked at #2 in Billboard.

While it's undeniable Brothers Osborne, I hear a pinch of Chief Eric Church and a dash of Chris Stapleton--and I love it.

There's no other album in 2018 I'm more excited for. These guys remind me of a new school Montgomery Gentry.
I LOVE John's backup vocals and guitar playing. I'm predicting this next album will win an award somewhere for sure

This is good stuff. Their debut was a nice start, but I hope on this follow-up album it's more cohesive and features tighter songwriting. I hope they fully realize their potential and prove themselves to be the top duo in the mainstream realm.

Methinks they have another hit on their hands, and a new CD from these folks is a wonderful way to start the new year; typical solid musicianship as well.

I liked "It Ain't My Fault". One of my favourite country songs of 2017. This looks like a good one too.

"Stay A Little Longer" reached #1 on Mediabase, onebuffalo is just allergic to the Mediabase charts😉 (jk).

This song kicks so much ass!!! The melody is wonderful, their vocals are perfect for this style of music, and the instrumentation is straight up country/rock PERFECTION! 2018 country is off to a GREAT start. I like this even better than "It Ain't My Fault" which ended up being one of my favorite country tunes of 2017.

It is a great song but I doubt it’ll make it past top 20 or 15. Like I’ve said in other threads songs like this hardly become hits over bro/pop country songs.

I'm not getting this notion that there's a lot of bro country or pop country. Or at least pop country in the sense that it's more of a detriment. If anything I feel like pop country lately has really managed to as a whole take a more definitive sound that sounds not too pop, but not overtly country imo. Seriously if you remove the success and songs of "Body Like A Backroad" and "My Girl" there hasn't really been that much bro country songs that have been successful in recent memory imo. Also looking at the charts there isn't a lot that really qualifies as bro country. Honestly I feel like the term bro country gets overused/misused.

It's a bit too 'in your face' to do too much...I'm gonna predict a chart run sort of like The Outsiders Eric’s music is a perfect example of what I’m talking about. He’ll come out with something like “The Outsiders” or “Mr. Misunderstood(both of which are good)then they’ll stall in the top 20 or lower then he hits you right in the face with a smash hit like “Talladega”, “Record Year” and the current single “Round Here Buzz”. If him or these guys would release something like them songs all the time there’s no doubt in my mind they’d be collecting hit after hit. Brothers Osborne need more “Stay A Little Longer” type songs and they’ll be racking the hits up. “American Crazy” from their debut album was a missed hit I think. The chart run of “Rum” really surprised me. I honestly thought it should’ve been a top 10.

Lately there’s been more pop country hits than bro country.

Lately there’s been more pop country hits than bro country. Ok agree to disagree. I feel like bro country has basically all but gone the wayside or at the very least it's not a staple trend like it was in 2013-2014, yeah you still get your traces of it on the chart, but it's not prevalent. Where as pop-country has always and will always be a thing, I mean pop-country has been a dominant sound for a long time and way before bro country was prevalent. Also maybe it's just me but pop-country isn't a bad thing so long as there's a balance and to me I feel like there's no distinct sound that is on the charts right now and it feels like there's a good balance or at least a better balance of the pure country sound and the pop country sound, in my opinion. Again agree to disagree.

As long as there’s pop country songs dominating the charts then songs like “Vinyl”, “Wild West”, “Never Gets Old”, etc. will probably never be able to make the upper levels of the charts.

I understand the point you're making, but honestly the 3 songs you mentioned have downright abysmal sales/streaming numbers. Radio is a business, and spinning certain songs that don't connect with large scale audiences simply because "they're good" or "authentically country" isn't going to fly anymore. As for this song, it's okay. I personally don't hear a smash hit and I'd be surprised if it makes the top 5. Radio seems to like these guys so it'll be given a fair chance, but this just doesn't sounds like a radio hit.

I will say out of those 3 songs that "Wild West" probably has the greatest shot at being a hit as I do believe radio likes Runaway June a lot and wants them to succeed (hence "Lipstick" making the Top 30 despite horrid sales and research). I do agree though that it's a business and if I was a Radio person and I had 2 choices. First is a song that is selling well, and testing well or a song that's selling poorly out of the gate and not testing well locally at all. I'd go for the former. Just because a song is traditonal or undeniably country shouldn't equal automatic airplay.
