Maybe "Keep On"? I can't really see any other album tracks having multiple last-place rankings... You are not too far off. Both High Horse and this song name-checked John Wayne. 26. Keep On
Yeah, so keep on lookin' at me that way That way we can move this along And I can finish sweepin' her off her pretty little feet And your buddies can carry you home
Total: 478 Average: 19.91666667 SD: 8.010409894
Album: Chief Songwriters: Eric Church, Ryan Tyndell Country Airplay peak: 55
I think Keep On can be viewed as the continuation of the storyline of Drink In My Hand, mainly one night affair. At least he tries to imagine some stuffs that can "keep on lookin' at him that way". Tbh the rock part is not that memorable either so this is a meh song.

"Raise 'Em Up" is excellent. One of Keith's best singles of the past 5 or so years and Eric Church's part is actually my favorite bit of the song, in particular the way his voice sounds on the line "don't ever let 'em tell you who you are" -- there's something that gets me every time about how his voice rolls off the word 'are' at the end. It's just so good. Much better than a lot of his solo stuff, and certainly far better than the collaborations that landed in the bottom 2.

Okay, that NASCAR hint is WAY too obvious, so it can't be "Talladega"... Also, those toes are really gross, eeeewwwwwww! They're practically long enough to be fingers!

Painting your toenails pink.25. Like A Wrecking Ball
Crash right through the front door, back you up against the wall Love you baby, take it right there baby, rock you baby, like a wrecking ball
Total: 470
Average: 19.58333333 SD: 6.619580091
Album: The Outsiders Songwriters: Eric Church, Casey Beathard Hot 100 peak: 51 Hot Country songs peak: 6 Country Airplay peak: 11
Rankdown history: 2015 Country - 67 CMA Song of the Year Nominees - 93
Like a Wrecking Ball has a weird effect on his vocals and is surely divisive for radio (but not here because it has 6th lowest SD). However it is his last 1 million selling song, despite being a fifth single. It has also massive streams (there is a fan made lyric video that has 40M streams on Youtube... ). So the peaks are lies. Anyway although it is a sex song, it is still somehow outstanding by focusing on the vigor of their sex. And I actually don't mind the vocal that much, maybe that's because I listened to that song too much lol. It's a good ballad for me.

Kane Brown has a tattoo on his neck. Apparently the protagonist of this song is speaking to him (not really)... 24. Homeboy
If you don't ever do anything else for me Just do this for me brother Come on home, boy
Total: 463 Average: 19.29166667 SD: 7.882171223

Homeboy is the lead single from his third album Chief. In this song the narrator hoped his kin would come back home to enjoy small town simple life instead of urban style. While I appreciate the wordplay on this ( come on home, boy and come on, homeboy, and Before they're called...home, boy in the bridge), the production of this sucks. The guitars are just unnecessary front, even though the composition itself is far from bad, the production is just a misfire. Then the whole song became a mess musically. (It actually is the very major problem of the album as well but this song is the worst) Top 5 loss from a well-known EC stan and top 10 loss form a moderator here.

I'm tired of this seesaw, merry-go-round, so merry you can go to hell.Hungover & Hard Up is somewhat weird in the sense that it doesn't really have a chorus. Probably to portray a confused state of mind I guess. "Round and round, up and down/I'm tired of this seesaw, merry-go-round/So merry you can go to hell" is a good lyric with cohesion, but the song feels less when compared to others. Cody Wants Out... and zack97 lost a Top 10, while tim finally loses his #31 (third slowest to lose last place)

Hints for #25~21 (not in order) Did she have to leave me one beer short of a twelve pack?Cold One is one of his underrated singles. The songwriting is an interesting one with these swamp production, and the double meaning of song title - when she left his life and when she took away his beer. She had her feet up on the cooler as she put our love on ice and She left me hanging high and dry in that hell hot summer sun are cool lyrics. The fleeting bridge is also awesome and energetic. This time another mod that is Kanenrá:ke loses a Top 10 here, together with gardyfan . I was hoping this song can reach top 20 but nah.

He had written a song that expressed his love to NASCAR before Talladega... Love Your Love The Most is the formal first single from his second album Carolina. Basically he said he likes a lot of different things but his wife's love is what he loves the most. Welp this song is too laundry list with some tried hard connection to traditional country music (e.g. Any song sung by George Strait is country at it's best). Unfortunately it didn't work for me and the twist is quite forced (as in I Hate Love Songs). There even is a random guitar solo that doesn't really match the vibe of song and is essentially a weaker version of the riff in Those I've Loved. And last but not least, he hates the song as a single. Goodbye to zaclord 🌈 and dub 's Top 5, and gonecountry and austin 's Top 10. Glad I push it out of Top 20!

noooooooooo "Love Your Love the Most" is so good!!! It missing the top 10 is a travesty, let alone the top 20. Carolina is by far my favorite Eric album and its songs like LYLTM that make me love it.

LYLTM and Cold One should've been Top 20 imo, but I'm not that sad about either missing. I need "Garbage Man" to hurry up and gtfo though. :sip2:

Does the album cover of Jhené Aiko's album (titled Trip) remind you of a psychedelic trip? 20. Roller Coaster Ride
Since you had to go, I've been on a roller coaster ride Up and down I go, over you, then about to lose my mind Pain points his gun, and I hold my hands up high Off the edge I go, on this roller coaster ride
(Obvious fan-made despite the title saying official)
Total: 401 Average: 16.70833333 SD: 7.641301771
Album: The Outsiders Songwriters: Eric Church, Jeff Hyde, Ryan Tyndell Country Airplay peak: 52
The production of Roller Coaster Ride is cheeky (imitating the song title by instruments), but I like the effort, particularly the ending where the melody is going off the edge. Unfortunately seven participants lose a Top 10 here, including me . bboat11 even loses a Top 5. On the other hand, four participants lose their bottom five rank.

I punch the clock trying' to make it to the topHow 'Bout You is Eric's debut single released in 2006 (time flies). Written with his brother Brandon (RIP) and Brett Beavers, the song highlights the type of person he is: his social background, values and beliefs, and enthusiasm in performing country music. It is the highest charting song on Country Airplay and Hot 100 for Eric in his first album era. While it is a standard upbeat contemporary country with some rock leaning, I couldn't help myself to compare the melody of this to Dierks Bentley's Lot of Leavin' Left to Do (which Brett Beavers also co-wrote). It is a bit lack of originality. It is the first song from his first album to be eliminated, taking two Top 5 ranks, six Top 10 ranks and three bottom 5 ranks with it. It went from being a Top 10 contender, to middle of teens, and finally being barely in Top 20.

All the crazy in my dreams, Both my broken wings, Every single piece of everything I am... Like Jesus Does is the fifth and final single from Chief, his third album. It is a heartfelt song of praising his wife loving him unconditionally. While the steel guitar is good for these types of ballad, it isn't that well used here. Not much impression from it unlike Miranda Lambert's To Learn Her for example. Still decent to listen to, but not much. Not worth it to ruin the "co-wrote every song in the album" streak. Unlike How 'Bout You, this one had been outside of Top 20 for a long time, but it finally made it. We have a Top 5 loss from .indulgecountry , and Top 10 loss from collinkottke and Cody Wants Out... .

Just thought by now I'd be pushing up daisiesA Man Who Was Gonna Die Young is a more folk-leaning song from EC, and serves as a love letter to his wife (interesting that it was eliminated alongside with Like Jesus Does). I like In the mirror I saw my surprise/Who knew gray hairs liked to hide on a head/That didn't think he'd live past thirty that describes the process of growing old. It is a very touching song and is a great contrast to title track. And it officially became highest non-single in this rankdown! gonecountry 's last place and nine people's Top 10 are eliminated.

Our best blue jeans have skoal ringsGuys Like Me is the third single from the Sinners Like Me album. It tackles a common theme of complimenting girls that love him, who is an ordinary country man. Although it stands out from similar songs (e.g. More Girls Like You or A Girl Like You) by being more descriptive of his characteristics, and the third verse tries to elevate the song by mentioning "we" instead of "I", it just feels a little bit of clutter, and maybe I am not the target audience of the song. Also, the production is muddy here and the guitar riffs are not so clear, so this is my least favorite single from the album. We have six Top 5 loss here, and two more Top 10 loss. I didn't know this song is well-liked by a portion of Pulse members...

Missing the Top 10 guesses: Two Pink Lines Hell on the Heart Mr. Misunderstood Kill a Word Desperate Man
Really surprised that HOTH is still in this. It’s a fun little ditty but one of the least substantial of his songs, IMO

Missing Top 10 His Kind of Money (My Kind of Love) Say it isn't so, Joe.... I would love to see HKOM (MKOL) make the Top 10. Everyone (or so it seems on the Pulse Board) loves this forgotten gem. I don't know why Eric Church doesn't ever do this in concert. You can tell there are songs of his that he isn't a big fan of (I'm looking at you Two Pink Lines) and then there are some where I can't see him letting him go (These Boots and Sinners Like Me).

Thinking it'll be Carolina to lose all its singles. Whether or not that includes HKOM (MKOL) or not is up in the air, but the other 2 I see going soon. So I'll say those 2, "Creepin'" and "Desperate Man" (seriously, wtf is this still doing in?) plus either HKOF (MKOL) or Two Pink Lines misses the top 10. Outside chance to Mr. Misunderstood or Round Here Buzz
