"Pop country is a thing." What a shame. Pop country has always been a thing for a very long time in country music's history.

"Pop country is a thing." What a shame. What's wrong with it existing? The genre helps get a lot of people into country music, especially when it crosses over.

I just suggest you explain it some instead of just simply saying it or people on here will jump down your throat

Diversity and variety within the genre!? The audacity! I apologize for my comment, I'm new to the board. I will keep my opinions to myself from now on. Sorry if I upset anyone because it truly was not my intention. All good! Ignore my snark ;) New members are always welcome, as are differences in opinions! The "too pop for country radio" argument is just very old and tiring around here for those of us who have been around here for awhile. Country has evolved and expanded over the years and because of that, it has grown tremendously as a genre, so I actually appreciate quite a bit how diverse country radio can be nowadays. As a lover of so many genres of music, I like how country has borrowed from pop, rock, and soul over the years and blended what's great about country with what's great about other genres. So while I definitely understand the purists' arguments, country music today isn't country music from 20 or even 10 years ago - it's that and much more. Welcome to the board!

βSixteenβ moves up six spots to #20 on Mediabase. Thomas Rhett also has the highest bullet in the Mediabase Top 30 with 859 spins gained.
This song is probably one of my favorite songs on radio. In a word to describe this song is smooth. This type of song is just so perfect and I am glad to hear it on the radio. Honestly this album era there's been no songs that I have actively disliked unlike his first 2 eras.

Bubbling Under Hot 100: #9 (re-entry)
Jeez, it's moving quickly. A debut on the Hot 100 next week is guaranteed barring a massive album bomb.

This is actually outpacing "Life Changes" which was at #22 in its 7th week (This is technically in its 11th week, but the chart run as an official single started in its 4th week on the chart).

Can anyone else hear Eric Church singing this song?
Glad it's doing so well, and hope it continues to climb quickly.

So, there won't be a video for this song? It is already high enough in the charts to warrant a boost by releasing a video. Sad this song didn't get one, but Leave Right Now did... with a bad remix :(

This has become my favorite single of his. It's lyrically simple and definitely not something new, but it is executed perfectly. Personal but not overly personal like "Life Changes" and general but not so general that it's bland.
The production is also spot-on. I actually wish the song was about two minutes longer; I understand that songs are crafted for radio these days but 10 years ago this could have been a 5 minute album finale.
Hoping this can get a few weeks at #1.

He performed "Life Changes" instead? Why? This song could've used the boost.
Oh, well. "Marry Me" won Video of the Year at the CMAs, at least.

That said, I was really looking forward to him performing "Sixteen". At least it was an interesting performance of Life Changes.

I like this. Reminds me of early-mid 80's rock (like John Mellencamp).

So I know we all assume this is his last single from this album, but with his dad going on tour with him next year, is there a chance they may release "Drink a Little Beer"?

"Sixteen" enters the Mediabase Top 5 at #3 gaining 6 spots. Thomas Rhett gained 848 spins and has the highest bullet in the Top 30.
Once "Speechless" by Dan + Shay clears out of the #1 spot, expect this song to hit #1 soon after.
