congrats. She still enables sickos This seems to be a issue very near and dear to you since I remember you posting in xxx’s thread a ton when he died, and now you’re onto 69. May I remind you that no one was actually proven guilty. I don’t like either personally but maybe you should join an advocacy group or something if it’s really that important instead of bitching about it on a message board. And, just to be clear, I hope you don’t like any of the other artists that those two have collaborated with, and will collaborate with, since you seem to be taking a lot out on her. Something tells me this isn’t just about 69. 69 pleaded guilty. Defend your pop star but please don't defend a sicko with your bs lies. Don't be that low brow and thirsty to defend Nicki you're going ride with that rainbow haired sick freak trashiest tekadhi or whatever his name is.

The thing is 190k is actually a good and respectable number but she tried to pull all those stunts instead of flopping with dignity, she set herself up for embarrassment.

Without stunts she would've reached 130k or so probably. But you would've been happy because there were no stunts. Now with stunts she reached 190k which you say is GOOD but it's still somehow embarrassing because of the stunts. It must be hard to be in the biz when people act like this. Artist must try to sell records but do it RIGHT WAY? ok.. Only here on forums people get their kicks when albums "flop with dignity" (or without it, that's even better lol)

She would sell ~150k without the stunts and that would have been great, she didn't actually earn more money selling 190k equivalent copies, she was giving them away + subscriptions on Tidal for $5... Putting Fefe on the album was the last nail in the coffin. And before you say I'm a hater or something, I actually think the album is very good, it didn't deserve the mess of a rollout it got.

Artist must try to sell records but do it RIGHT WAY? ok.. People are pretending she wasn’t damned if she did and damned if she didn’t. Let’s review the scenarios: 1. She didn’t add anything and opened with 150k at #2 and people would have claimed it was a flop (People who are saying “at least she would have debuted at #2 with dignity”, please. She would still be trashed like hell and we all know it) 2. She did all the extra additions and bowed at #1 but cheated her way to #1 3. She added all the extra things and still debuted at #2 and looks desperate She will be fine. Once all the bandwagon hypebeasts who don’t actually care about her or her singles but just want to see her fail will disappear once the important part of the era begins: single tracking, etc..

I sort of like that "flopping with dignity" term though. Makes me think about a person who stands proudly on top of the hill after burning all the bridges behind. Dramatic!
I'm gonna use it shamelessly when Lady Gaga's techno album arrives at #7 with 54k

Numbers would have been more impressive without the 69 song. The 30k difference is irrelevant though, because the narrative for this era will depend on her getting a hit single out of it.
#2 was no big deal until she made it a big deal.
We'll see.

She isn't even been dragged here by most of us for being #2 it's not that deep. I don't think anyone is reading her for her placement but more that her stunts didnt work . If anything most casual fans are dragging her more for her desperation . I say that term to say there is plenty of ways to promote your album that also holds up your iconic brand. Dragging up years ago drama on social media, tacking on some other guys song half way after album was released and what many of us see as her going out of her way to start drama for pay during album week when she had in most cases years to discuss it :almost 5 in Safaree case.
Funny thing if that was my favorite I'd drag her for being messy too. Wouldn't be the first time.... You can drag a bitch and still think she is all THAT! Just don't play dumb is all we ask.

Why do people even care whether Queen or any of Nickis solo work does good or not? Doesn’t Nicki chart and sell better as a featured artist?

To be honest although I am calling his a bit of a loss for Nicki, I genuinely don't have any feelings of embarrassment towards her for pushing so hard for #1. Artists would love a #1 album and if she and her team want it bad they can push for it. Nothing they did was any more sneaky or dishonest than when countless other artists took similar strategies to boost their figures. Nicki has had a groundbreaking career, Even though I don't think she's always made particularly great music and she and her fans annoy me to death at times, and even though I said before that her missing #1 would give me life, seeing all the unnecessary flack she's getting makes me feel bad.

I didn't realize she lost the No 1 in sales too. I guess her team could still say it's the best-selling digital album of the week...

Not many solo female acts have several solo singles consistently chart high, most include a male feature. Nicki has had several high charting features because, at least on rap, it’s been a male’s song she’s been featured on or vice versa. It’s not a reach, it’s true.

I recall seeing Lily Allen's It's Not Me, It's You being promoted as an album that hit No 1 in both the US and the UK. Whilst it did hit No 1 in the UK overall with great sales, it was No 1 in the US only digitally.

I'm not sure if this was posted:
CHART STORY: WORLD DOMINATION
Travis Scott’s second-week number was in fact big enough to keep Nicki Minaj from debuting at #1 on our Top 50 Chart. The widely applauded Cactus Jack/Grand Hustle/Epic set, Astroworld, which earned the year’s second biggest bow (with 553k) last week, tacks on an additional 223k. Meanwhile, YMCMB/Republic’s Minaj makes her entrance at #2, scoring 190k with fourth studio album Queen.
It’s worth noting that we spent an extra day counting on our fingers and toes, because the race to the top was so heated. In this instance, every stream, sale, D2C number and ticket bundle component had to be looked at closely. Merch was a big factor in Scott’s total, while a retail bundle at Tidal boosted Minaj.
Drake’s Scorpion (YMCMB/Republic) took third place, pulling in just south of 100k in its seventh week out. This kid may have some potential.
As for the other key, new releases, Trippie Redd’s Life’s a Trip (TenThousand) bows at #4 with 71k, while Jason Mraz’s Know. (Atlantic) arrives at #9 with 31k. And a previously unreleased gospel set from Elvis Presley, Where No One Stands Alone (Legacy), shows up at #20.
One of the week’s biggest stories, however, surrounds the late, great Aretha Franklin, who broke hearts across the globe when she passed away on Thursday. As fans mourn the loss of this beloved legend, they turn to her music for solace. The Queen of Soul’s Rhino/Atlantic compilation, 30 Greatest Hits, re-enters the chart at #8. How much will fans’ ongoing devotion be reflected in the marketplace next week? Time will tell.
When it comes to marketshare, UMG is #1 with 56%, SME follows with 22% and WMG is #3 with 21%, while the indies claim 1%.
Streeting this week are albums by Republic’s Ariana Grande, Warner Nashville’s Cole Swindell and Atlantic’s Death Cab for Cutie.
In other news, we’re happy to report that our next merch bundle will include a handful of weed-infused gummy bears found under the couch, some bacon-flavored chips and a partially dried-out highlighter.

my bad. Only one pedo and one sexual predator. Is that better? I think it's best to maintain the sting in those labels for those that actually deserve them. Her brother does, but 6ix9ine would be better described as a sex offender.

Reading is fundamental. Shes not coming for GaGa. She was using an example of the reactions when Gaga worked with R.Pervy.

This kind of scenario is just the latest in a long line of situations where I miss the days before the internet, let alone social media. Things just sold what they sold, and artists weren't discussing numbers in realtime, or at all, really. The chart would be released in Billboard Magazine each week, and that was that. Entertainment tonight would give a rundown of the top 10 albums, and there was no comments section for stans and trolls, or platforms for artists to act a fool over chart placement.
It made a huge difference in terms of artist allure, as well as what people focused on when an album was released - THE MUSIC. The digital era has made a mess of things, and Nicki is a prime example. Her artistry is overshadowed by her and her damn twitter account.

Honestly, the bigger story is that Aretha's "30 Greatest Hits" managed to get to #8 largely on 1-day. It will vanquish the #117 peak it previously achieved. That's an amazing placement, not just for the one-day, but the fact that several popular tracks appear on at 5 other compilations that had placed in the Top 20 iTunes (and I'm assuming were also tapped through streaming) as well as several other albums that hit the Top 100.
I'm a bit surprised that none of the albums managed the Top 50 sales, considering she had 5 in the Top 10. I guess it shows what a large gap there was between 30GH and the rest.
