We can all name artists who we feel don't release enough music or don't put out albums frequently enough, but what about those artists who put out too much music? Do you think such a thing a exists? When an act releases an album and months later they're already moving on to a new non-album single or as a featured act on some other single while completely abandoning their own album. Do you find it hard to get invested in the era when you barely have time to let it sit before even the artist is already moving on. Or when an artist releases so many one-off songs and singles between their own albums that by the time they finally come to put out their own album, you just don't care because you didn't have a chance to miss them.

BTS DRAKE NICKI MINAJ Cardi B David Guetta I don't think Cardi is eligible for this considering she's only been around for a year. Most good artists have successful cycles that last for at least a year so..

Yeah, they release on a yearly (or even more often) basis. Bareilles? She does not release music that often. Often a three year gap in between albums. Also, I agree on Drake. He needs to go away for a couple of years.

My first pick for this is Sia. She hasnβt put out an album in like 2 years but the number of soundtrack songs and random singles make me not really care.
I can certainly understand Drake. He put out a giant album last year too. Plus didnβt he also put out a few non-album tracks since then before this new album? When an artist abandons their album shortly after release (Kanye), it sometimes makes me wonder why Iβd want to get invested in the album if theyβre just going to move on to newer stuff. Obviously if itβs about the music, that shouldnβt really matter but for some artists and some types of music, part of enjoying the music is the experience of being along for the ride - if that makes sense. If they end the ride to push even more new music before you have time to settle with the last batch, it just kind of gets tired.

I came in here to say Drake but I got beat. He needs to take a break for 5 years. I am sick of him.

Yeah, they release on a yearly (or even more often) basis. The way k-pop acts operate is entirely based on total saturation because of the short shelf life of the members at any given time. But the way they release is also super confusing. They'll release several EPs in quick succession and then release an compilation album album of them all with more tracks added on but they never work a full cycle on anything.

South Korea is pretty unique in that regard. The most annoying part, yes, is the releasing of the same songs onto albums. BTS just did that to increase their stream totals.
