Drake said he plan on going right back into the studio after his tour, hope y'all necks are used to that boot.

Drake. I used to like him a lot, but at this point I’m like staaaaaaaahp. The quantity has gone up, the quality has gone down.

Drake. I need a good 2 year break from him. He peaked for me at One Dance and the quality has gone down since then. More Life was kinda meh for me and Scorpion is ok but the over-saturation is a bit much. God's Plan was annoying, Nice For What was good, and In My Feelings burned on me quickly due to that ridiculous viral challenge. I'd be happy if 2019 music was Drake-less.

BTS (Released about 4 mixtapes in elss than a year)
6ix9ine (Too much garbage and TATI was released after the album by 3 months)
Anne-Marie (Everything except 2002 was garbage, 7 singles from her album)
Drake (Almost an album per year)
Nicki Minaj (Queen was a terrible album)
Bebe Rexha (An album + 2 EPs in a year and a half)
Future (Last year he released 2 albums in the space of a week)
DJ Khaled (No need of an album that is a clone of your last album, thanks)
My point is that artists who release too much music have the quality of their music go down. Look at A-list pop stars (Adele, Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, JB, Rihanna, Taylor Swift), they release an album every 2-3 years (with some collabs in between) in order to make a good album instead of releasing an album per year/6 months (Maybe even a week in Future's case) or releasing too many singles (Anne-Marie) which makes the album feel effortless and terrible.

Ed Sheeran's album was still trash after his break. Fight me ginger nerds.

Quality of music is mostly subjective, but artists who release an album every couple of years have their albums be more praised by the GP and critically acclaimed than artists who release albums every couple of months.

Ed Sheeran's last album was slammed by critics, so his break didn't bring up any goodwill there just by being a break. There's no set rules for the relationship(s) between project gaps, critical acclaim, and commercial success. Drake's last several projects have gone back and forth between stronger and weaker reviews, and all were commercially very successful. Ed's critically slammed album not only went on to do extremely well, it did so with far less actual hit singles in some territories. Two huge US hits for such a big album is small quantity-wise, but just leaving it like that ignores that SOY and Perfect went on to become massive smashes with long lives that did more than a standard hit single (as well as the importance of releasing COTH at the same time as the more different (for him) SOY). On the other side, critics and internet people were ready to go Andrea Yates on their families in the name of CRJ, and she still tanked.

My first pick for this is Sia. She hasn’t put out an album in like 2 years but the number of soundtrack songs and random singles make me not really care. I can certainly understand Drake. He put out a giant album last year too. Plus didn’t he also put out a few non-album tracks since then before this new album? When an artist abandons their album shortly after release (Kanye), it sometimes makes me wonder why I’d want to get invested in the album if they’re just going to move on to newer stuff. Obviously if it’s about the music, that shouldn’t really matter but for some artists and some types of music, part of enjoying the music is the experience of being along for the ride - if that makes sense. If they end the ride to push even more new music before you have time to settle with the last batch, it just kind of gets tired. Releasing an album a year plus some extra singles might not seem like so much for Drake if he edited them better, or paid more attention to quality. 10 great songs a year would be welcome, but not so much when accompanied by 20 mediocre ones. Kanye is another one who we don't need to hear every page of his personal thoughts put onto vinyl (or streaming or whatever). If he can't be bothered to promote an album, or single, EP, or mixtape, for more than a moment then why should we have any interest in it? And while I get the desire to emphasize collaborations with hot names in order to get a hit, having 5 features out from Justin Bieber or Cardi B or whoever in addition to their own releases sometimes hits overkill levels. Artists like Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Adele, or Rihanna don't release too much music; it just sometimes feels like it when they do and their hits get overplayed or a single album era stretches out for two years. But generally they've given us at least a year or two between eras.

Kanye? he's released albums in 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2013, 2016 and 2018. It's not like he releases something every year.
