I don’t like it. The lyrics feel too direct and heavy handed. Sounds like something a college freshman would write trying to be edgy and “deep”.

I don’t hate this. Definately wasn’t expecting this The Killers meets Springsteen sound (it reminds me of something that could have been on The Rising). Video was directed by Spike Lee.

Not surprisingly considering the comments above, I'm not a fan of this. Killers trying to be Springsteen usually doesn't go over well, and this sure is no "Born In The USA" or "The Rising".

this isn't the sound i want from The Killers...but...it isn't bad...i'll chart it but i don't think this is getting anywhere near my Top 10
decent political lyrics, it's Springsteen-lite...i don't see this getting much love from radio, other than maybe AAA...if this were 30 years ago, it might get played on stations that played alt-country

I can't say the song is musically great. The gospel parts don't sit terrific with me. I mean it's fine, but I do however love the message that the song is giving. Kudos to Brandon Flowers for standing up and stating despite how corrupt things are in the States right now, we can still make the world a better place.

It’s not bad, but I found it too be a little too corny. Doesn’t seem like much of a radio type song either. As others have said, I prefer either their mores 80s sound or their edgier rocking sound, and this is neither.

Hey, you know what they needed to do? A political song, except they have no understanding of the subject matter, so why don’t they just repeat everything we’ve heard before?
It’s like they made a Nickelback song, and took their 80’s influence to We Are The World. Just, I hate this.
