Next elimination is a big one. Only one #1 ranking though, and it also has a #40 ranking. Although this band had prior hits, this was their first really big one.

Sorry but how could anyone put any of the five remaining songs last? They're all great. My guess is overplay or to prevent it from winning. Last place is definitely a bit harsh, though.

And I just liked all the other songs more than this. I mean I really liked my top 34 and my #35-#38 are okay.

The gap between #3 and #4 is pretty big, bigger than any other pair of songs in the rankdown. This song was this band's biggest hit, but I think I prefer their first hit... I wonder how it's run would have compared in this rankdown if I had included it.

And clearly Basket Case couldn't have been included in this rankdown because of the timeframe.

The #3 song started out with a very strong lead at #1 for the first few submissions, and remained at #1 for the first 9 submissions, but it's lead was gradually chipped away at.
I suppose it's fair that it didn't make the final two, since it has only two #1s while the 2nd place song has three and the first place song has four.

So it's Green Day vs Keane for the final two.
The #1 song started out a bit slow, it was still #7 about halfway through the submission process, but slow and steady won the race, pulling into #1 with only the last submission.

Really surprised that "Mr. Brightside" had less #1's than "Somewhere Only We Know", but I'm not complaining.
1 vs. 13. My #1 would be a really obvious and predictable winner, so I'm definitely fine with my #13 winning and making things a bit more interesting.
