Will this be just Katy Perry or Katy Perry feat. Zedd? The guy needs to meet his 1 hit a year* quota. * At least Top 20 in the Hot 100 and Pop radio

Personally, I would like to know who are the writers, aside her, Anton Zaslavski (Zedd), Daniel James and Leah Haywood (Dreamlab), assuming the latters also helped with the songwriting. I found that there's a registered track called "Now That It's Over" on ASCAP and it says that it was written by Katy (her birth name was used) and Linda Perry, so I'm wondering if this is an early version of the song, which could have been renamed to "Never Really Over" or they are totally different and it's a scrapped track.

Realistically, shouldn't they let the Daddy Yankee song smash before trying to have two Katy songs on radio at the same time, given her lukewarm reception currently?

I guess I can update (and confirm) the title of the song because it was revealed by an insider, who works at Universal Music, in a Spanish forum. The track has been described as a pop hit, which begins slowly and it explodes later (I assume when the chorus begins). It doesn't have any latin influences, it's not a midtempo and it's 100% enjoyable. The spanish term that was used was 'disfrutΓ³n', so I think 'enjoyable' fits better in the translation. Hopefully something like Into You but a stronger summer vibe!

If this isn't a bonafide bop then she's completely lost it and it's OVER for her.

Judging by just the writers this sounds dated but maybe thatβs what she really needs to get a hit.

I guess this implies that "Never Really Over" and "Now That It's Over" are two different songs. Also, cool to see Dagny's name there. Glad that it's more than 3 minutes, almost 4 minutes. I know that the current trend is to create/produce songs less than 3 minutes, but I'm not so into that to be honest.

I'm ready for another smash from Katy, I enjoyed 365 a lot and I'm loving Con Calma right now, so hopefully, it's great!

Iβd be ok with Katy trying a throwback sound to earlier in the decade. Sweet But Psycho has shown that dance pop can still push through and do well. If Katy can do something with an explosive catchy chorus, I think she will be fine.
Also, Iβm surprised Katy hasnβt tried any trap influenced songs again, seeing how trap influenced songs are still popular and DH was a massive hit.
Either way, I hope this is the beginning of a new era!

I donβt think Rise has any trap influences but I could be wrong?

Bon Apetit was her attempt at Dark Horse part II and we all know how that went... Bon AppΓ©tit was definitely not Dark Horse pt. 2 sonically and especially lyrically. There were some trap beats but nothing like Dark Horse.
