Might As Well Get Stoned is the tenth track from Traveller. According to Chris, it is the answer to the question of what a guy in a country song might do if he ran out whiskey. The steel guitar instead of harmonica ran wild here. Not particularly meaningful lyric but it is a stoner mood.

Go'n Down is the third track from Official Motion Picture Soundtrack of Ambush at Dark Canyon. Kix Brooks wrote the soundtrack and was the main actor of the movie. I dig the western vibe in this a bit. A nice first listen. bboat11 loses his #2, Kanenrá:ke loses a top 10 while phil1996 finally loses his last place.

Oh wow "Go'n Down", "Love Me Anyway", and "More Of You" is sorta expected to not do as well as they should. But "Daddy Doesn't Pray Anymore" is such a classic sounding country song that Chris just excels at. Surprised it was this low.
Julie Roberts recorded it as well and did a fantastic job with it.

Quite disappointed to see “You Are My Sunshine” out already and it really deserved better. Chris and Morgane have been singing this live for years and it has always been one of the biggest highlights of the show. I first saw them perform this together here in Austin back in 2016 and was blown away by the amount of energy they put into this simple song. I’ve always been a fan of Willie Nelson’s “Last Thing I Needed, First Thing This Morning” and the same can be said for Chris’ version. I often find myself putting this on every now and then when I’m having a bad day and somehow it manages to put me in a better mood lol. I did kind of have a hunch it wouldn’t fare all that well here so at least it made it into the top 30. I think I probably overranked “Love Me Anyway” by a few spots and would probably put it somewhere closer to my bottom 5 now. I actually enjoy Pink’s output for the most part and both of them are incredibly talented artists but “Love Me Anyway” isn’t going to be something I seek out to listen to again. “Might As Well Get Stoned” gets ranked on the higher end for me because I’ve always enjoyed the live performance of the song. This is definitely something that the crowd gets into and has some fun with…and when at a concert here in Austin it wouldn’t come as a surprise that more than a few light up a joint when a song like this is played

A Simple Song is the sixth track from From A Room: Volume 2. It is holding on to your beloved ones in adversity. someguy loses a top 10 while castleoblivion26 loses a bottom 5.

“A Simple Song” leaves about where I expected it to and for such a simple song it does seem to have more lyrics than your average Chris Stapleton song lol. This really is one of the highlights overall from the From A Room albums.

Sometimes I Cry is the final track from Traveller. It is a devastating and lonesome song about losing someone. His strong vocals are put on display here. These turns and belting are quite strong. castleoblivion26 lsoes a top 5 and phil1996 and I lose a top 10, while George Strait Junkie and gardyfan lose a bottom 5.

Someone will lose a #1 and someone will clear his bottom 10...

I went back and forth with my ranking for “Sometimes I Cry” because it’s one of the standouts from his discography overall...this just happens to be another one of those songs that I prefer in a live setting versus a studio recording. Chris absolutely kills this song live and every time I’ve seen him sing it the entire crowd is in the moment. I assume Kanenrá:ke is the one to clear out his bottom 10!

Tryin' To Untangle My Mind is the fifth track from From A Room: Volume 2. The song is a reflection of his struggles against the devil’s temptations. Quite generic songwriting especially "I do what I do and I don't know why/But I do what I do, til' the day I die" line, and I don't really like the guitar riff in this song. gardyfan loses his #1 while Kanenrá:ke got rid of his last bottom 10, and castleoblivion26 loses a bottom 5.

Up To No Good Livin' is the fourth track from From A Room: Volume 1. The song talks about escape of his past but realized his wife still has not forgotten about it. Didn't realize many people like this song. To me the guitar riff sounds so awkward even though it has some vivid similes and metaphors (I'm tired of her turning her questions/Into the Gettysburg Address) phil1996 loses a top 5 while George Strait Junkie and Kanenrá:ke lose a top 10. I cleared my bottom 10 lol

I Was Wrong is the sixth track from From A Room: Volume 1. The song talks about his regret on mistreating his ex. This sounds like an unreleased Sam Hunt track imo, from the R&B leaning to lyrical theme. Chris belts his vocals well in this one. So either way phil1996 hurt the most from the tie as he loses his #1 here. singingrulebritannia and I lose a top 5. castleoblivion26 cleared his bottom 10.

When The Stars Come Out is the eighth track from Traveller. The song plays on stars as in those at the sky and celebrities. Besides that wordplay I think the melody is smooth. The fact that he does not try hard on vocals in this one may make people like this song more as well. Kanenrá:ke and bboat11 lose a top 10 and singingrulebritannia loses a bottom 10.

Hard Livin' is the second track from From A Room: Volume 2. This song was one of the songs premiered on Farm Aid 2018 befre the release of Volume 1 and some assumed it would be in volume 1. In this song he felt his age might come to him but asserted he won't slow down his hard living, followed by a lengthy guitar solo. I like the solo but not so much on other parts. Plus feels too much like Nobody To Blame which is obviously better than this. Kanenrá:ke loses a top 10.

Either Way is the fifth track and the first radio single from From A Room: Volume 1, previously recorded by Lee Ann Womack on her Call Me Crazy album released in 2008. The song is about the indifference of a man in his relationship. Whether it continues or ends, he’s fallen out of love. It won the award for Best Country Solo Performance at the 60th Grammy Awards. This is one of the poorest radio single choices. It just doesn't fit the radio demographic nowadays by having "three chords and a truth". Although his vocals can be piercing in this one, the vocal performance is hard-hitting and deserved to win that Grammy Award. bboat11 , castleoblivion26 and I lose a top 10, while someguy and gardyfan cleared their bottom 10.

Whiskey And You is the fifth track from Traveller, previously recorded by Tim McGraw on his Let It Go album released in 2007. The song contrasts between whiskey and a woman to describe the lingering pain of their breakup. Above average songwriting and appropriate singing for this acoustic track. And I am glad almost every one thinks so. tim loses a top 10.

Midnight Train To Memphis is the seventh track from From A Room: Volume 2, previously appeared in Chris' bluegrass band The Steeldrivers' self-titled album released in 2007. The song investigates the mind of a prisoner. This is the best rock leaning track in From A Room series. I especially like the delivery of the line "whistle blows when the sun comes up". Quite a fired up track! Also recommend the bluegrass version. I hope more country rock/southern rock songs would be sent to Mainstream Rock stations because they are more hard rocking than quite a few songs there lol singingrulebritannia and I lose a top 5 while gardyfan loses a top 10. George Strait Junkie loses a bottom 10.

Glad to see “When the Stars Come Out” sneak inside the top 15 because that’s long been one of my favorite songs from Traveller. This has a great melody and makes great use of the steal guitar.
“Either Way” may not have been a great single choice but it gives Chris the ability to showcase his vocal abilities which really comes through with the chorus.
I lose my first top 10 with “Whiskey and You” leaving just a couple spots shy of making it in. This is the type of gut-wrenching sad song that I just love and each time I’ve seen Chris sing it live I’ll be damned if he doesn’t always make me tear up a bit with this one.
“Midnight Train To Memphis” is a great country southern rock song and I miss hearing more of these kind of songs on country radio. This is also always another highlight of Chris’ live show.
And with that I have nine songs remaining heading into the top 10!

It has to be repeated for those who haven't seen him live, make sure you do so! He truly brings some songs to life in ways the album doesn't do justice. MTTM is one of them! As for predictions I really don't have a clue here, I believe all of the singles that remain were more or less received equally. I'd think "Second One To Know" is first out is my only guess.

And it is partly caused by you. Second One To Know is the third track from From A Room: Volume 1. In this song the narrator hopes she would let him know anything she does to their love ASAP. Chris debuted this song live at the 2017 ACM Awards. This song seems unfinished to me. i don't think the fading out ending suits this song. It is the worst rock-leaning song in From A Room series. tim , singingrulebritannia and castleoblivion26 lose a top 10.

While disappointing I’m not surprised to see “Second One to Know” be the first to leave the top 10. This has been a favorite of mine since my ears first heard the guitar riff intro and is one of my go-to jams still to this day. And it goes without saying that this is a killer live song.
