"Heartache Medication" debuts in the Mediabase Top 50 at #47 gaining 13 spots. Very strong start for the song and hopefully this takes Jon Pardi back to #1 after "Night Shift" came up just short.

Jon Pardi was sent to save us all. "Ain't Always The Cowboy" is fantastic and so is "Heartache Medication". I can't wait for this album.

“Ain’t Always The Cowboy” should’ve been the lead single I think.

He's 3 for 3 so far. This album might be bigger than "California Sunrise".

“Tequila Little Time” should have been the lead single honestly. That’s a big hit waiting to smash. Perfect summer song as well.

Even though I love 'Heartache Medication', 'Tequila Little Time' would've been a great choice for a lead single. Judging by the songs we have heard so far, this album is shaping up to be really good!

The weirdest thing just happened to me—I was just using my phone when “Tequila Little Time” popped into my head, except George Strait was singing it. You can really tell from the music that Strait is a huge influence for Jon.

Jon Pardi low key makes a ton of bops. This one is still such a jam in the cold of the winter. I think it's fair to say he has an evergreen sound.
Side note: I can still turn on Heartache on the Dance Floor anytime and be driving with the windows down like it's the middle of the Summer.

Man, I really hope Dan + Shay/Justin Beiber don't block this song (or Lady Antebellum) from hitting #1 on Billboard. While this song has been a lesser hit than "10,000 Hours" I do think this song has been a solid enough hit to justify hitting #1 on both charts. Unfortunately, I do think there is a strong possibility that "10,000 Hours" goes on a multi week #1 spree on Billboard and blocks this song and Lady A's from hitting #1 on Billboard and restricting both to Mediabase only #1s.

I like the song, and love the fiddle, but it's currently barely top 30 on the country charts on itunes (29) and outside the top 100 (107) on the all genre chart. It won't be the weakest #1 if it gets there, but it's also clearly not a big hit.

Yeah, I think at this point it's possible this one gets kept out of the #1 spot and it's not connecting the best, so I think the sooner they give this one up and move onto the next single the better for his momentum and this third album cycle. Getting it a few positions higher on the chart isn't going to be really worth it in his case (Lady A's song is a much bigger hit tho so I hope they find a way to make it happen before "10,000 Hours" ends up sitting there for like 3 weeks, which it might at this rate).

Well this song has similar sales to Ridin' Roads, maybe even slightly better because there are two versions of this song on iTunes. So if that song can hit #1 on radio, why not this song?
Plus I feel this song will have steady streaming after it peaks, just like all of his singles before.

Not sure how much that would add, but certainly combined it is a little higher.

No idea when Capitol will do the final push for this one. Could be the week after Lady A presumably gets at least a Mediabase #1 (which would hypothetically be 1/13-1/19). But Jon's chances of getting to #1 on the Billboard chart would be slim that week, since Dan and Shay are continuing to open up a wide lead over Jon in audience impressions. Basically, I'm thinking Jon could get a Mediabase-only #1 on the 19th, or, if the negatives and burn rate don't get too high (a huge IF), Jon could potentially wait for Dan and Shay to get a week or two at #1 and push then. Either way, it'll be pretty challenging for Jon to reach #1 on Billboard. "10,000 Hours" is just too huge a hit to compete with. It remains in the top 5 on iTunes all-genre and is getting medium or heavy rotation on most pop, AC and Hot AC stations across the country. Compared to that, "Heartache Medication" looks like a much softer hit. This really feels like a #2 peak.

I absolutely love this song, and bless this man for bringing the older sounds back to the forefront. He really has been one of the leading forces in that regard and I'm so happy about it.
Wish this would surprise everyone and place itself at #1 on BB, but with 10,000 Hours more than likely about to get like 3-4 weeks at the throne it's highly unlikely, but I'm not all that upset with its finish. A possible #2 peak at BB three albums in, and with a song that features instrumentals unfortunately not heard on the mainstream often enough, is nothing to scoff at.
I do also hope Lady A doesn't get blocked. Both "Heartache Medication" and WIINGOY are hits worthy of both Mediabase/BB #1 status.

It's amazing how this man is trying to single-handedly bring back cool instruments like the fiddle into the mainstream while also pushing for #1 hits. I still can't believe we're talking about two completely different songs on opposite ends of the country spectrum vying for a #1 spot.
Country is crazy, man. This is probably the only time we'll ever say Dan + Shay and Jon Pardi in the same sentence.
