Probably since it is getting marketed as a new release it is being treated like a new release

The rules of re-entry since 2012 has been #50 or higher and significant gaining in at least one of the metrics(now two)
before that re-entry could take place if:
-It was marketed as a new single(as in Lizzo's case) -a new single version of the song was released (Prince - 1999 in 1999) -A new mix - December 1963 - 4 seasons (in 1994) -Repopularized due to a movie (Bohemian Rhapsody from 'Wayne's World' or Unchained Melody from 'Ghost')
There are probably a couple more
Listed some examples - it did happen although not that often

So Senorita is #1 on Pop, #3 on Radio, #3 on iTunes and #4 on Spotify and it gets knocked out of #1? Can someone explain how Truth Hurts edged this out?

YES LIZZO!!!! So proud of her and she damn sure has earned this by grinding for years and paying her dues.
2019 has been so much better number one wise imo. , just refreshing compared to last year and there's more woman than men on top of the Hot 100 this year as well.

Lizzo got her first #1 (for a third week, that is well-deserved), all of Taylor Swift songs are in the chart (I'm a little bit surprised I Forgot That You Existed is above Cruel Summer, I thought it's the other way around and ME! skyrocketing back to the Top 50)

It's looking like ME! has a good chance to reach more than 20 weeks on the chart. I definitely did not think that would happen.

Taylor Swift & Dixie Chicks Debut in Hot Country Songs Top 10 With 'Soon You'll Get Better' 9/3/2019 by Jim AskerThe song is Swift's first top 10 as a lead artist since 2013 and Dixie Chicks' first at all since 2002. Taylor Swift's "Soon You'll Get Better," featuring Dixie Chicks, flies onto Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart (dated Sept. 7) at No. 10. .... Dixie Chicks earn their 15th Hot Country Songs top 10 and first since their cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide," which reached No. 2 in November 2002. They make their first appearance on the chart since 2006, when "Everybody Knows" peaked at No. 45. Their last country top 10 was "Travelin' Soldier". The week after the controversy, it fell from #3 completely off the charts.

okay WOW what a great week, especially for lizzo and taylor. truth hurts at #1, good as hell debuting (which i'm assuming debuted at #52 because it would've been top 50 if it weren't for "lover"), and juice (to my surprise) re-entering!! plus taylor breaking the record for the most hot 100 entries for a woman is pretty iconic. definitely surprised yntcd rose to the top 5, as well as me! somehow skyrocketing to #11. lover just barely making it to the top 10 makes me very happy too. #justice4delicate

So the 10th biggest country song this week only registers at #63 in the overall chart. That’s crazy to me.

^ Hasn’t that been kinda normal for Country Songs during the last 21 years? Remember the 80s when not a single country song was in the top 100 for 7 years?

That started around 1985 right, when Country was in serious decline due to the overplay of Country from 80' to 82' and MTV being a factor as well.

crazy how Lover can top spotify all week and only be 7 on Streaming "Lover" was #1 on Spotify for like a day, "Ransom" had more streams most of the week. I believe she lost some chunk of the video streams AND her Apple Music was strong but not phenomenal, especially because the song has no remixes/clean versions etc. at the moment.

Bad Guy / Senorita / Truth Hurts has to be one of the best #1 trilogies since at least 2017.

I can't believe a random, out-of-nowhere, 17 year old rapper is outstreaming Taylor Swift.

Maybe YT views made the difference?

Happy for Lizzo and Lover entering the top 10!
ME! almost returning the top 10 was a surprise! But I guess it still has enough airplay to rank that high despite not being streamed high compared to the other album tracks on Spotify. Or I guess its YouTube streaming was strong as well
3 weeks, 3 different #1s is great to see!
