Circles is #1 on Spotify, #2 on iTunes right behind Lizzo. I can see the song debuting at #2 honestly, then go to #1 when the following week when the album drops. I guess we'll see. Goodbyes had a video right away, Circles most likely doesn't so can't see it going top 3 this week. Top ten should be on lock. Circles has a bigger debut number than Goodbyes on Spotify.

I'm pretty sure Circles does have a music video, there is a little moving clip of Post kneeling in a suit of armor with a sword when you play the song

Also Post Malone's songs are growers on spotify in most cases, I'm pretty sure Psycho debuted with a similar number of streams on spotify and that song debuted at number 2 on the hot 100 with 48k points which would be enough for number 1 in today's chart.
Considering Circles has been very well received I could see something similar happening here, and if not, it seems very likely it will go number 1 on album release week.

so in 2007 we had the first 2 artists born in the 90’s (the previous decade) to get a #1.. if ransom goes #1, 2019 will also have the first 2 artists born in the the previous decade (00’s) with #1 hits

Wait so we agree Truth Hurts will be #1? Will be close with Shawnmila but I think the remixes and new videos will give Lizzo the edge.

^Anyway, on the weekly YT chart Señorita lost about 5% views while Truth Hurts gained close to 14% so that the latter is only trailing by just 4%.

Damn, so they are really pushing this. It can probably get a few weeks at #1 imo if Ransom doesn't grow too much and Circles doesn't get too big of an album boost

So weird how Truth Hurts is #2 at Pop radio, but still #13 at Urban radio. You'd think it'd be the exact opposite.
Also it seems like The Git Up has stalled and peaked at this point. Kind of hilarious it stopped its momentum exactly when OTR finished at #1.

You would think it would be the opposite but I think it speaks to how Lizzo’s comeup has been so far. I feel that she’s not getting much support from the black community as some newer artists recently like Megan. It seems that she has more of the soccer mom type fanbase which would explain why her album and songs are doing so well on iTunes, since thats kind of unusual for artists with an urban fanbase. I dont know if its bc of her personality or bc of how pop leaning her music is but yea its weird.

The song absolutely would not work if released by a Pop female (Taylor, Ariana, Katy, etc) thus I don't see how it would really be a Pop song. It is completely a song that is moreso suited to Missy Elliott, Beyonce, etc. It reminds me of the 'Hit Em Up Style' of 2010s. Both songs have strong Hip-Hop influence, with some R&B vocals that made them crossover hard at Pop radio. They also performed pretty similar, with 'Hit Em Up going #1 at Pop/#5 Rhythmic/top 20 at Urban.

White people are the majority supporters of EVERY genre, including typically blackity black genres like rap and r&b, which shouldn't be surprising since they're indeed the majority. Lizzo has black fans. I just think in recent months, she's seen more of an influx of white soccer mom supporters who make up a huge amount of Adele's fanbase. She's got the big girl audience support on lock. I'm definitely not surprised that pop radio is eating up her music. I fully expect Lizzo to lean even harder into her pop influences on her next album seeing as it's what's finally taken her career off the ground. Her debut album was basically a rap album and that did nothing for her mainstream aspirations. Her career didn't start taking off till she started leaking into being more of a singer than a rapper on her sophomore effort and on her latest album, she leaned fully jnto these big anthemic pop-esque songs and now she's finally arrived.

I'm actually surprised songs like Juice and Soulmate didn't take off. Those songs are MADE to be hits.

I never said otherwise... My point was that she wasn’t getting much support from the black community, not that she had more of a white fanbase than the average black artist......

"Blackity Black genres..."What?Also, no. White people aren't the "majority supporters" of every genre. Moreover, since when have White people been the "majority supporters" of R&B music in any capacity? Whether it's the traditional/classicist orientated Rhythm & Blues of the 1970's/1980's, or the Hip-Hop driven Contemporary R&B of the 1990's/2000's and the more Indie-R&B of the 2010's? White people aren't sprinting in spades to purchase albums released by Adult-R&B acts ala. Fantasia, Ledisi, Chante Moore, Tank, Raheem DeVaughan, Raphael Saadiq etc. - artists of whom have even struggled to receive playlisting from Mainstream Urban radio stations the past five to ten years.

blackity black genres like rap and r&b What I learned in boating school is... blackity, blackity, black! Why are you all making a big deal out of what I said? I'm a black person and I say that all the time in casual conversation. Rap and R&B are still genres that are made of mostly black acts. The two genres we still have which white artists haven't completely taken over yet. And that's why I said that. But of course, you guys completely disregarded the rest of my post to express faux anger, as usual. Lmao.
