#34 is a lot less polarizing than the previous reveal; in fact, it's the lowest SD of the whole rankdown. Not much love was shown towards it - a single top 10, which came pretty late in the process, resulted in every song having at least one top 10. 3 other top 20s accompany it, but all of those were dragged down by 10 bottom 10s. Interestingly enough, no one will get a perfect ranking on this one.

Going from one extreme to the other, #33 is the holder of the highest standard deviation. Its rankings are somehow not that representative of such a feat, however - it has 3 top 10s, including a single top 5, and four other top 20s. The opposition was harsh on this one, as all but one of its eleven bottom 10s reside in the bottom 5; multiple people will be relieved of their #35 as a matter of fact. The song traveled a decent amount in between reveals, but spent the most amount of time in its final position.

"Man I Used to Be" had the simple issue of being in a rankdown where I liked every song, and some songs had to be in my bottom five. Given the reputation of "What a Waster", I actually expected to like it more than I did. That's not to say that I didn't get into it, because I did. I just expected more.
"Night of the Hunter" is quite the case for me. I think I've just worn off of most of that era's songs. The only two I still really enjoy are "Closer to the Edge" and "Hurricane". Still, this is probably the third best song on the album.

#32 does not have a remarkable SD; however, its journey was interesting as it actually spent time in the top 10, albeit for a single list. Needless to say this did not last as this was continually drop kicked down the list. Two people will be losing their first top 10s, and they're both top 5s; they were joined in the top 20 by 6 other people. Again, the opposition was harsh with seven bottom 5s and yet another occurence of multiple people losing their #35.

Honestly, my 35 is the only song that I felt even a little iffy about liking, and that one is completely fine, too. This just kept dropping as I kept listening to more songs.

The final reveal for today is fairly uneventful. Traveling in a pretty small range, it ended up right in the middle of its movement amplitude. A single low top 10 is lost, but seven other people partially came to the song's aid by providing top 20s. Another seven people however disagreed, and shoved this song in their bottom 5s, along with one perfect ranking.

There were a couple of songs in this rankdown that I ranked lower than I expected, given the artist involved, and this was one of them. I guess I'm just kind of attached to their first couple of albums instead of their later work, though this is one of the better later-era Used songs I've heard.

I swear The Used get robbed in every rankdown they're in.

Frusciante's solo work is so much more creative than what he does in RHCP

35. Man I Used to Be - k-osHit that one on the nail. This one had me fooled with the groovy beat until the rapping started than It fell right in place. LOL at this being the host's tanker too. 34. What a Waster - The LibertinesI kinda dug that early Arctic Monkey's vibe. 33. Night of the Hunter - Thirty Seconds to MarsThis is what happens when a band releases crap. It's the last memory we have of them and its a hard stain to remove. These guys are gonna have to release their next album in 3-D for us to forgive them. This song here is a masterpiece compared to that shit era they just had a couple years back. Plus Jared sucks as the Joker. 32. Going Inside - John FruscianteFirst time listen. It had some interesting guitar works, but the song itself was quite unsatisfying. Especially his vocals. 31. Empty with You - The UsedAnother first time listen. I liked the vocals and music. I'm not the biggest fan of this band, but this rocked right.

Do people here just not like rap or is it specifically k-os' rapping? He has some good songs without rapping too.

Do people here just not like rap or is it specifically k-os' rapping? Well, Doc doesn't like rap. But for the rest of us you can safely assume it wasn't the song being not good, but the rankdown overall being too good. Though I do feel both of the k-os songs I've heard in rankdowns kind of pale in comparison to, say, "Freeze"

Hi! Let's get this thing going. #30 somewhat starts us off with a bang, as this will take care of the 6th highest standard deviation. This song actually spent one list at #35, before rebounding slightly and hanging around the borders of the bottom 5 for a good while. Multiple people who have already lost a top 10 will be losing another one, as this song features five top 10s, including two top 5s. Eleven people disagreed and put this song in their bottom 10, although only four are bottom 5s, and none of those are excessively low. This song digs a trench between itself and the bottom 5 songs as it is over a full ranking ahead of #31.

This has an oddly high standard deviation.
If all of this is building to "Sea Within a Sea" having a low SD...

I wasn't expecting this to be a high standard deviation. Sam Roberts Band is normally solid, and this was no different.

If you had a hard time with the previous reveal, you might be in store for another harsh reveal, as #29 waves goodbye to three more top 10s and six other top 20s. Opposition-wise, this had four bottom 5s to counter it. This reveal does not have much of a story to tell and had a fairly smooth journey, cruising constantly between a six-spot range.

Probably one of the more obscure songs on this rankdown, these guys have actually been around for quite a while. "Lift" is another song of theirs that is pretty darn good also. The guitar is hauntingly beautiful, and Marko Saaresto's rich tenor vocals feel very warm on this ballad. I didn't have much hopes for it, honestly, but I'm happy it made it out of the bottom 5. I also thought the video was kinda cool for a video that came out in like 2006, lol. 29Carnival of Rust Poets of the FallPOINTS: 307 STANDARD DEVIATION: 8.69RankingsZach : 4 nickd : 7 Doc Indie Party Rock : 10 Beno : 13 Leaf : 15 rowellfarm490 : 16 wheatsquares33 : 16 peacebone : 20 Daryl the Beryl : 20 @trilogy : 21 alexcuse : 21 Geometrical : 21 Juan Carlos : 25 @humanshazam : 25 Red : 26 Butterflies & Hurricanes : 27 American Idiot : 30 maine : 31 @carseatlegrest : 33 Lordef†ones : 34 singingrulebritannia : 34 Movements27 28 28 27 31 31 30 27 29 30 32 30 29 27 29 29 31 29 29 29 {Songs Remaining}ain't got time for that

Obviously the toughest bottom ten entrant because of where I ranked it, but man, I REALLY did not want to put this bottom ten. This was too good to be bottom ten.

#28 followed a movement path very similar to that of #29, however, its stats tell a totally different journey: first, its standard deviation is much higher; the 10th highest, specifically. But more importantly, this features five top 10s, including two top 5s... and our first #1 loss of the rankdown. The high SD can probably be explained by its ten bottom 10s, of which three are bottom 5s, and one is even an infamous #35.
