#22 never quite made it to the top 20, spending its entire run inside the twenties; as a result, its standard deviation is pretty average, on the low side. Only three top 10s are observed here, with one top 5. Nine others provided assistance with top 20s, but its opposers served up a seven-course meal of bottom 10s, including five hard-to-digest bottom 5s.

We will end today's set with a pretty big one: the 3rd highest standard deviation! What makes this song particularly interesting is that it was nearly inside the top 5 at one point. Despite spending nearly the entire process inside the top 20, it ended up at its second lowest position.
A new high of eight people ranked this song inside their top 10s - although only one went the extra mile to rank this top 5. Seven people answered with bottom 10s, including three bottom 5s; one might need to sharpen their tomato-dodging skills, as they will be exposing the removal of their #35.

I expected this to be bottom five, so it escaping the bottom ten is a victory.
The lyrics are not really the point here. This song is wild. There's so much going on in the instrumental, and ALL of it is performed well. The last minute or so of this song is pure bliss. I couldn't justify putting it at #1, though, despite how much I was rooting for it. As much as I love the music in this song, despite what I said before, the lyrics do bring it down a bit.

This having a high standard deviation is not surprising whatsoever.
Honestly, I really liked this song. I also really liked 33 other songs.

30. Brother Down - Sam RobertsFirst time listen. The best aspect are how good his vocals are. The song was sacrificial material among this list of songs. 29. Carnival of Rust - Poets of the FallOne of a couple first time listens that made my top 10. I thought this was beyond awesome. had some FFDP powerballad aspects too. I don't know where they are from so I looked them up. Sure enough European. Finland to be exact. That's pretty close to Sweden, so it made sense that it was soooooooo great. 28. In Too Far - AcceptanceGot pulled in by that intro. fast bass line melody with a bit of Alkaline Trio vibes. Almost made my top 20. 27. First to Love - Blaqk AudioIf you reveal a Davey Havok song before the top 10 chances are you're gonna kill one of my top 10's. I charted this one as well as new B laqk Audio music released this year. 26. Ghost Ship of Cannibal Rats - Billy TalentI've previewed some Billy Talent talent on other rds, and I gotta say this is easily one of my favorites. Vocals really drive the song home. Great song on a hard list of songs to rank. 25. Born to Lie - DREAMCARThis was New Wave heaven for me. A Huge top 5 song on my personal chart. I think I charted no less than 5 songs from this debut album. Anyway, one Davey Havok song left , and you all better not F U C K with it. 24. Synesthesia - AFI...and you did F U C K it. 8D Dammit no more Davey Havok. I might as well go home. 23. Wet Sand - Red Hot Chili PeppersSmooth RHCPs ballad style. If I'm gonna listen to something calm make it a RHCPs ballad. 22. Antibodies - Poni HoaxThis gave me some cool as hell Franz Ferdinand vibes. One of my favorite first time listens. D/L checked this one and filed under songs Geometrical tuned me on to. There are 7 songs in that file. 21. Dark and Stormy - Hot ChipAnother song that made the file. This is more my style. Guitar oriented with 80's New Wave vibes. *up next top 20 and I still have 4 of those pesky bottom 5's swimming around. What gives?

Do people here just not like rap or is it specifically k-os' rapping? Well, Doc doesn't like rap. But for the rest of us you can safely assume it wasn't the song being not good, but the rankdown overall being too good. Though I do feel both of the k-os songs I've heard in rankdowns kind of pale in comparison to, say, "Freeze" No argumant there, but it does depend on the rapper , the song, and the tones. Ex: Snoop Dog. Loved him in "Cailfornia Gurls", but I can't stomach the "gangsta" stuff. My all time Favorite rapper was George Michael.

Some songs of his you can check out that don't have anything that I would consider rapping include "Born To Run", "Crabbuckit" and "Sunday Morning".

Oy I just looked at what my remaining 20s are and I could see all of them making the top 10 lmao So I'm likely not holding onto that first place in closeness for long

Hello! Reveals are going to be a little earlier tonight, so let's go. Starting smoothly today, #20 holds the 2nd lowest standard deviation. A whopping thirteen people ranked this top 20, but a measly two put it top 10, including one top 5. Only five people ranked this bottom 10, and most of those are pretty high anyway; a lone wolf shoved this song inside their bottom 5. This song was almost always inside the top 20, and even broke into the top 15 on separate occasions.

This is great, and it was not particularly fun leaving this out of my top 15, let alone my top 10.

Contrasting the previous reveal #19 is the recipient of the 5th highest standard deviation. After an average start, this song nearly crashed down into the bottom 5 before receiving significant support and spending a good chunk of time inside the top 15, before experiencing a slight dip near the end.
This song features an interesting ranking distribution as there are no duplicates among the 21 rankings. Six people will be losing top 10s, including two top 5s. The opposition was kinda harsh for this stage of the process as they provided eight bottom 10s, including three bottom 5s, of which one is especially low.

Well, other than Acceptance, we took care of the top tens I expected to lose early.
I'm half-tempted to put it back into one of my pop rankdowns, where it was initially going to be before it was included here. And this isn't even my favorite song from this album.

Performance-wise this song is quite good but I don't usually gravitate towards this type of melody, takes a lot to make it not feel stale

#18 spent time inside both the top 10 and the bottom 10. Despite this feat, its standard deviation is not remarkable. What is, however, remarkable, is that this is the fourth and final song to feature multiple #35s, which are the only bottom 5s attached to this song. At the top, seven top 10s are lost with just one top 5, and it's for someone who had a pretty good set of reveals last night.

This was supremely difficult for me to rank, because my heart lies with early-era Thursday, and I've never really been able to get into their later work. But this is one of the best songs from their later era, to be sure. This is now the second time in recent personals where I've had the last remaining last place. It's, somehow, even better this time.

#17 is probably the most unremarkable reveal of the night, as it only features four of both top 10s and bottom 10s. Multiple top 5s and bottoms are eliminated, This song spent time in the bottom 10 early on, but jumped back up and spent a few lists inside the top 15 before hopscotching around the 15-20 range for a while.
