"Chaos" is one of those songs that has aged remarkably well with me over the years. I've always liked this album, but none of the other songs on the album get close to that level, and that includes "Noticed". It's still really, really good, though.

#16 isn't an especially high standard deviation, but it surely feels like one. Seven people ranked this song top 10 - and all of those ranks have a twin or even a triplet ranking. By contrast, six people provided bottom 10s, with four bottom 5s, including a low one. This song actually spent most of its time outside the top 20 before a wave of support on the final two days kicked it up to new heights.

There's something that's both clunky and smooth about this song at the same time, and it has always fascinated me. I don't think that this is one of my absolute favorite Queens songs, but it has held a soft spot in my heart for over a decade. The main reason I didn't put it top five is because I had "Somewhere to Hide" outside of my top five originally, which was a mistake I needed to make up for. I think I have as many bottom 15 songs remaining as I do top tens, and my #35 has outlasted three of my top six. This is for those of you who think that I'm just this master of doing good in rankdowns. I'm not infallible.

We're finally hitting another high standard deviation as we land onto the 8th highest standard deviation at #15. Of its twelve top 20 rankings, all of its top 10 rankings are also top 5s. Six people will be relieved to lose bottom 10s, and half of those will be delighted to lose bottom 5s. This song spent multiple lists inside the top 10, but otherwise was very erratic in its overall movement history.

This was the only song in this rankdown that I didn't really get into. It's perfectly fine, it's performed competently, but I can't get into it on a personal level.
Fuck, I wanted to have an anti-rooting interest in the top ten, and now, I don't really have that.

It's been over 10 rankings, but #14 brings us back to a familiar feeling: someone is losing their #1 here. Despite spending nearly half the process outside the top 20 early on, this song ate some serious steroids in the second half and nearly cracked the top 10.
On top of the aforementioned #1 loss, seven other people are losing top 10s here. A lone bottom 5 can be found within the five bottom 10s that this song holds. Additionally, there is a significant gap between this song and "Loud Pipes" as this is over a full ranking ahead of it.

I hate how Chino only does one real album with whatever side project he takes on: Crosses, Palms, and ESPECIALLY this, because a second Team Sleep album could have been absolutely phenomenal, and it's a wasted opportunity.

We're staying on a trend here, as #13 brings us the second song in a row with at least one #1 biting the dust, which also happens to be the 9th highest standard deviation. Despite landing at #13, this song peaked at #2 (!) and otherwise spent multiple episodes of consecutive lists inside the top 10.
Fourteen people are losing top 20s here, with six top 10s of which three are also top 5s. What probably explains the high standard deviation is that all of its bottom 10 ranks were also bottom 5s - of which all but one were pretty darn low.

Okay, well, this wasn't the song I was expecting.
Perfectly solid little song, though I wasn't wowed by it on first listen. This did sound like a song I would probably like more with repeated listens, though.

Things are getting serious at #12, as this song also spent multiple lists inside the top 5, albeit in a much shorter range than "Waiting...". Otherwise, this song spent a lot of time hovering around the #15 mark, sometimes above it, sometimes below it, before a final push solidified its presence inside the top 15.
Eight top 10s, containing four top 5s, which contain in their turn at least one #1 are eliminated. There's six pesky bottom 10s plaguing this song, of which three are bottom 5s.

The first half of this song is cool, but not necessarily #1 material imo
But holy shitttt that second half, I don't think I've enjoyed a part of a song for a rankdown as much as that for a long time

This was always going to be high for me, but those last couple of minutes were enough to push this ahead of a couple of songs that I liked about the same.
This is also my highest first listen.

The final reveal of the day continues our streak of four consecutive songs with a #1 elimination.
This was only 6 points short of making the top 10, although it spent most of the rankdown inside the top 10, peaking inside the top 5 for a single list. On top of the #1 ranking, we're waving goodbye to seven more top 10s among which there's five top 5s. This song didn't receive that much hate either as it only received four bottom 10s and none are bottom 5s.

I did not enjoy ranking a White Lies song low. This is another solid song from them, but there's a couple of songs of theirs that I'm more attached to overall.
Two bottom tens remaining, and I expected one of them, for sure. The other, less so, but I expect it to go out early in the top ten. Good top ten overall, even if I don't have the anti-rooting interest, like I wanted.

THE TOP 10:
Anberlin - The Feel Good Drag Arcade Fire - Rebellion (Lies) Bloc Party - Hunting for Witches Crosses - Telepathy Cut Copy - Lights & Music Interpol - Obstacle 1 Metric - Gimme Sympathy New Order - Crystal Silversun Pickups - Growing Old is Getting Old The Black Queen - Ice to Never
If y'all are bored, here's some questions.
• Any surprises making or missing the top 10? • Any predictions on the winner? • My #1 is still around. Any guesses?

Any surprises making it or missing the top 10? I thought that Team Sleep would make the top 10 and that Metric would probably miss when I saw STG get out Any predictions on the winner? "The Feel Good Drag" My #1 is still around. Any guesses? Maybe the song with the album cover that used to be your profile pic here? Lmao

This rankdown made me absolutely obsessed with White Lies. I've already dove in and listened to almost all of their albums now. I'm in love. "Farewell to the Fairground" is awesome. I'm sad it missed the top 10.
