Bubblegum-leaning pop deserves to be in its own pop RD so it can't get shafted like this (#PlugForPopMiscellanea) :sip2: BSB didn't deserve bottom 10. Also Albie you suck.

Wow these reveals kicked my ass, but at least I know I'm doing things right. 40. Bananarama - Robert De Niro's Waiting... The 80's purge has begun to F U C K in' early. 8D With that being said how can you not love this melodic wonder. 39. Dawn ft. Tony Orlando - Tie a Yellow Ribbon 'Round the Old Oak TreeI didn't even know this existed. This is probably the only time I'll run into this song on a PULSE RD, and it sounded like something I expect to see in one of those Vegas Barry Minilow shows. But hey that's was Chico from 'Chico and The Man'. 38. Spice Girls - 2 Become 1I didn't know PULSE disliked Melodic Girl Groups. 37. Christina Aguilera - Come on Over Baby (All I Want is You)All I know it that this song is pretty fun. What else is there to look for in Pop, but fun , bubblegum and Bop? 36. Heaven 17 - TemptationI didn't expect anyone, but maybe Red or Butterflies & Hurricanes to know this song but me, but hey I'm out my #1 song which means , this is going exactly how I thought it would. On the other hand You all suck. 35. Annie - Chewing GumOh yeah I charted this synthpop masterpiece, and also "Me Plus One" which is even more 80's. Can you guess the melody it borrows from. 34. The Mamas and the Papas - Monday, MondayThis falls exactly where I said it would. I like retro 60, but this one never did anything for me. 33. The Ting Tings - HandsHere comes another stupid predictive RD. Can't we take a chance on some fierce 80's sounding New Wave retro wonders for a change? 32. Backstreet Boys - Everybody (Backstreet's Back) After all those remarks I didn't expect this to be a certain member's #1 song? This is a Jam. It's tuff, catchy and sexy, and from the looks of me losing yet another top 10 song there are going to be a bunch of songs that I thought sucked at the top of the list. 31. Lights - Same SeaNow I'm Kinda glad I kept this out of my top 10. BTW Bubble pop synthpop will not be making a comeback as long as this generation runs the airwaves.

Let's reveal at a more normal time, shall we?
The second set kicks off fairly calmly with the ninth lowest standard deviation at #30. This song spent more than half of the rankdown outside of the bottom ten, though its highest point was fairly early, and it spent the rest of its time in the bottom 15 somewhere.
Ten top half rankings will disappear (with all but one of the remaining spotless top halves losing their first), and three top tens will also join them. Two of those three top ten rankings will be the first top ten loss for two posters, and one of those posters is losing a little bit more with a top five. Six bottom tens fought this song's existence, including three bottom fives.

I love Rina Sawayama, and this song just hits me in all of the right pop spots.
I'm crazy for thinking this song would do better, I guess.

Let's keep up the low SD brigade with the reveal of #29, the tenth lowest standard deviation. This song spent multiple movements in the top half early, but it fell hard into the bottom ten and stayed there for a while. It only found its salvation fairly late...and, even then, it struggled to stay out of the bottom ten.
The most top half rankings yet will leave the rankdown here, as more than half of the participants (thirteen in total) ranked the song at #29 in their top half. Despite that, however, only one poster is losing a top ten, and it's not a high top ten. Seven bottom tens stopped this song's momentum, three going a little further with bottom fives.

I knew the moment that I heard this song for the first time that I was listening to a winner. This song is just gorgeous and extremely well-made.

One more time, we must reveal a low SD song, as #28 brings us the fifth lowest standard deviation. This is another song that I thought would be pretty decently higher. It was for a little while early, even spending multiple movements in the top 15 and a decent amount of time in the top half...and not just early. It also spent a couple of movements in the bottom ten (if only barely) late.
As you would expect with a low SD around this stage, not a lot of people ranked this song in their top half (seven), and less posters ranked it in their top ten (three). Still, multiple posters are losing their first top ten here. Meanwhile, just four posters will be shedding a bottom ten, but the reason this song's low standard deviation isn't even lower is because half of the bottom tens are bottom fives...and someone is getting rid of their #40.

I had to get something from the Jackson 5 in a rankdown, at some point. Including Michael in personals is old hat. Including younger MJ and his brothers? That's a little different.

Finally, we reach a song that does not have a notable standard deviation. #27 did not spend any time in the top half, and it spent much of the early stages of the rankdown in the bottom ten. By the end of the rankdown, it had pushed and crawled its way out of the bottom ten and close to the highest position it had found itself in not too long before this moment.
Ten top half rankings will saunter onto the scene, and four top tens will also have a chance to shine, though this is one of the few songs remaining that does not have a top five ranking to its name. We'll also see seven bottom tens push the spotlight away, with three bottom fives particularly wanting out of the scene.

Sad to see When I'm With Him not even make top 20. Y'all don't deserve Empress Of.

Alright, enough of the (relative) quiet, let's get to a big-time reveal. #26 will hand out the seventh highest standard deviation, and it's a doozy. Half of the rankdown participants pushed to make this song one of their top halves, half going for a bigger top ten variant. Some of those posters are also losing their first top ten. What brought this song down? It may be the eight bottom tens that grabbed this song by the scruff of its neck, including four bottom fives.

This was always going to be a tough sell, but I really, REALLY wanted to include this band in a rankdown somewhere, and this was the best fit I could think of. Well, that's not entirely true...I could have easily put it in the 80's rankdown. I just forgot to do it.
Oops.

Things...kind of(?) calm down with the reveal of #25, though it's not like this has a particularly low SD, either. This song spent time in the bottom ten both early and later on, also finding itself at its highest point multiple times at different points.
More than half of the rankdown will be on their way to another top half loss, though only four posters will also be losing a top ten. One of those posters will be one of the last posters to lose a top ten, however, and another is losing a pretty high top five. Six bottom tens had an issue with this particular song, however, half having a bigger, bottom five problem.
Oh, by the way, this is tied with #26.

I thought about using "Anything Could Happen" here, but I really wanted to showcase what Ellie could do with a more upbeat song. Suffice to say, I think she did pretty damn well.

#24 is another song that doesn't have one of the top ten highest standard deviations, but, again, feels like a high SD all the same. This song had trouble staying out of the bottom ten, returning to the pit multiple times after escaping the bottom ten for the first time. It was finally able to escape for good late, almost even making the top half.
Eleven top half rankings have to leave now, with five top tens needing to make a pretty hasty exit. At least no one is losing a top five? All but one of this song's six bottom tens are bottom fives, on the other hand, and we'll see one of those pesky #40s show up, too.
