Say what you will about the poppier songs on Come On Over (and I don't particularly love any of them), but there's no denying that the production on those songs hold up, especially "You're Still the One".
Now, compare those songs...hell, compare the song that this song is most trying to be ("That Don't Impress Me Much") to "I'm Gonna Getcha Good", and you'll hear a difference. I don't know what happened, exactly, but this felt so dated on a re-listen. I blame Mutt for this way more than Shania.

"Norwegian pop duo M2M released 'Everything' as the lead single from their sophomore album 'The Big Room' in 2001. The song was written about Zac Hanson (of the band Hanson) whom M2M toured with in 2000. Marion Raven had dated him while they were on tour, but the relationship ended with the tour. The song featured a more mature pop-rock sound compared to the duo's earlier material. I was surprised how well this song held up, as I felt M2M's previous work was VERY teenybopper and if anyone had familiarity with the band they'd get tanked and yet that didn't happen. I'm okay with this, as 'Everything' is my favourite single of theirs."Adrian C. π 3 Juan Carlos 3 alexcuse 5 samoπ¦ 10 singingrulebritannia 10 Exclusive 13SHOOTER 13@crapkuki23 13Red 13newpower 14 #LisaRinna 17 @antigonerising 17 Sambalada 20 willapted33 22 Ty 26 Az Paynter 27 maine 29 Albie 29 @doinktheclown 30 π

So CoCo Lee is still in? I might've underranked that song. Should've supported my Asian queen.

IGGG is such a guilty pleasure but Up! has not aged gracefully at all.
And Iβll take that PR as well! I adored M2M.

Oh, believe me, I knew what M2M was like before this. "Don't Say You Love Me" was prime TRL material.
I probably would not have had "Don't Say You Love Me" low, if it would have been eligible...though I prefer "Everything".

"For once Solo Spice actually manages to do somewhat decently! 'I Turn To You' is the fourth single from Melanie C's debut solo record 'Northern Star', remixed by Hex Hector for its single release. Hex's remixof this song would go on to secure him a Grammy win in 2001 for Remixer Of The Year (now known as Best Remixed Recording). Rather unfortunately this song missed the top 10 in Australia, getting stuck at #11. Meanwhile I'm lowkey pissed about this song exiting here, as it was a top 10 mainstay and really looked like it was going to finish strong compared to its utter wreckage in Max's LGBT rankdown. And then Hurricane Andrae happened. Thanks. :sip2:"Juan Carlos 1π

Me: Only singles with videos!!! Also Me: THIS SONG IS A MUST. "Japanese-American singer Utada had already enjoyed major success in Japan, and in the early 2000's made an effort to jump across to the American market with the release of her second English album and US debut effort 'Exodus' (a previous English album created under the stage name Cubic U went unreleased in the US). While 'Easy Breezy' was chosen as her commercial debut single, 'Devil Inside' was released as a club release with remixes from Richard Vission and The Scumfrog. The song was a #1 club hit, also hitting top 10 on the dance airplay chart. Here's another one I'd have loved to see finish in the top 10, only for the final tanking to ruin everything for it (all #40's are now eliminated)."Sambalada 3 singingrulebritannia 4 Red 5 Az Paynter 8 SHOOTER 8 alexcuse 8 @doinktheclown 11Albie 11Juan Carlos 12 π

Well, the end of this set was absolutely horrific.
That said, I've been expecting this song to go out for at least ten reveals, so while it just missing the top ten after being in the top ten right before the last submission is heartbreaking, it's not what I would have expected for this song, in the first place. This nearly making the top ten wildly exceeded my expectations.

I'm stunned that my 10 made it to the top ten, but I'm not complaining.
My 26, I'm fine with making the top ten. It's not particularly good, but it's a song archetype/sound that gives me nostalgic feelings, so it gets enough of a pass from me. My 29, on the other hand, has big problems that are impossible to overlook. I have a hunch it's one of the songs Andrae boosted into the top ten, though maybe I'm wrong.

Utada's Japanese catalog is miles stronger than her English one and that is a fact.

This is such a great one. This was featured in an episode of Sex And The City. The Lange remix is absolutely massive. The vocalist on this Moony also had a few solo singles under that name and then there was her alias Angelmoon for the moderate hit "He's All I Want".

I still love this. This got some attention in the U.S. when it was on the U.S. version of Queer As Folk. The original and funkier Illicit remixes were good. Unfortunately, Alcazar never got anywhere here. A U.S. release of their cover of The Human League's "Don't You Want Me" was planned with specially commissioned remixes by Junior Vasquez and Matt Piso.

This is one of the greatest songs and remixes. It's an instance where the remix elevated the song even further. There are two different Hex mixes of this. Hex version 1 <- this is the one we ranked and is the most well known version Hex version 2 <- this is on some editions of the album and single; it has that acid pad synth effect heightened, slight differences to the drums, and additional piano keys not heard in the other version; this is the version played during the club scene in Bend It Like Beckham; some of the elements in this are heard in the Ground Control Dub.

The last batch of reveals from Sugababes to Shania is BAFFLING. No taste whatsoever. Btw "Crying at the Discothèque" is a MF BOP and iconic!

"Canadian R&B and dance singer Deborah Cox released this song as a single in 2005; produced by Tony Moran and Warren Rigg, the original was an R&B song but it has since been superceded by the dance remix (also produced by Moran & Rigg). Backed with additional remixes by Christian Dio, this song became Deborah's 9th #1 on the Billboard club charts. Wikipedia says Deborah had a hand in writing this song; however a version by Nicole J. McCloud had already been released in 2004. I can find no credits for the Nicole version so it's possible Deborah did still write it only to record her own version later. I'm pleasantly surprised how well this song did; I really liked seeing both dance remixes in the top 10 during the course of the game and tbh if only one of them could be here I'd honestly have preferred Mel C/Hex Hector took the spot over this. Side note; who in f**k was the graphic designer on this single, the artwork looks so low-res and garbage even in supposedly HQ images."samoπ¦ 3 Albie 5 @doinktheclown 8 Az Paynter 9 π
