Wow, was expecting maybe half of that. Not surprised once looking closer though, it's dominating Apple Music and the explicit/clean reached #1 and #2.

Well deserved, hopefully this means Juice's posthumous album has similar success.

POP SMOKE SET FOR BIG DEBUT (UPDATE)
The late Pop Smoke is on pace for a runaway #1 on this week's HITS Top 50 with his highly anticipated debut full-length, Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon, via Steven Victor's UMG imprint Victor Victor and Republic. Streaming over the holiday weekend kicked the set into overdrive.
Pop's posthumous LP is slated to debut in the 200-225k range, with audio streams approaching 225 million. This is what specialists in data analysis describe as "hella big." His previous release, breakthrough mixtape Meet the Woo 2, opened at #7 with 36k in February.
Pop Smoke (Victor Victor/Republic) 200-225k total activity, 35-45k albums
Guests on the album include DaBaby, Lil Baby, Roddy Ricch, Future, 50 Cent, Quavo, Swae Lee, Tyga and Karol G, among others. The set includes the late rapper's hit track "Dior" as a bonus cut.

Juice Wrld's posthumous album could do more than 300k. I don't see that happening. At most, 275K. Anything is possible if his label uses bundles, though.

Hamilton will repeak in its 250th week. It's performing like the old musical soundtracks of the late '50s and early '60s.

^A potential new peak for the Hamilton OST. I'd love to see Luke Combs in the top 10 just to change up things a little bit. It looks like Chromatica would be the lone album by a female artist in the top 20. Plus, except for Hamilton OST, the rest of albums would be by solo artists.

Wow thought it was still 4xP The streaming era has really impacted the certifications of older albums.

Hamilton is a 2cd album. So 6xP is for 3 million copies.

^Plus having 46 songs in the soundtrack doesn't hurt it in terms of streaming since none of its songs really needs to be dominant for those to stack up over time. Until this week, I probably have heard about the Alexander Hamilton song, probably from some interview or new report they did about the play but since some other of its songs are actually charting in iTunes, I've become more familiar with them.

Since it’s a double album it’s probably gonna be the most recently released album to definitely go Diamond.
It’ll probably move atleast 1 million (aka 2x Platinum) units the next year alone. It will obviously then move another million down the line.
Although double albums certifications with streaming make no sense. With sales, yes, because for many double albums you paid a much higher price than a normal single album. However in the streaming era they’re saying because you have more tracks.... you only need 750 streams to equal 1 album sale instead of 1500 streams. Why would you reward longer albums with needing LESS streams??

Why would you reward longer albums with needing LESS streams?? I think that you are wrong about the streams part. HAMILTON still needs 1500 streams to count as 1 album unit. 10 songs sold are still 1 album unit. 1 album sale = 2 album units (if the runtime is more than 100 min, and there are 2 discs).
Only sales are counted double for double albums. And HAMILTON has 1,939,000 pure sales total. Whic when multipied by 2 you get <4M. Based on oldbloke's estimates it has sold 34,000 pure sales in 2020.
Aditionally, Billboard doesn't have a rule for double albums. HAMILTON has 4.6M album units during its chart run on BB200. -number is by oldbloke
So when you add 4.6M & 1.9M (album sales that count double), you get 6.5M album units. HAMILTON had 300K in 2020, and was certified 6 X Platinum on April 4, 2019

Oh wow, I was under the assumption streams were also counted 2x because I remember Chris Brown's "Heart Break on a Full Moon" double album went 2x Platinum even though it barely sold any pure sales and was barely past 1 million units on Billboard 200. Perhaps he just had a bunch of YouTube streams somehow. That would be surprising though, because none of the album's singles even peaked above #40.

^Yeah. That's the problem of having to pay RIAA to certify. The album should be recertified this year if they pay.
