"Lolita"Written by Jessica Origliasso, Laura Pergolizzi, Lisa Origliasso and Toby Gad Produced by Toby Gad "Lolita" is a song from The Veronicas, which was released on July 27, 2012. The track, which reached the Top 40 in Australia, was meant to be the lead single off their third album Life On Mars, but the album was shelved due to complications with their former label Warner Records.

One of my all time favorites from them! It's a staple on my Halloween playlist too thanks to it's creepy production with the screaming being used as part of the instrumental. (The single cover is pretty creepy as well.)
I really wish we could have gotten the album this was supposed to be a part of. Life on Mars or something along those lines? Shelved. :( Don't get me wrong, their eventual third self-titled album was still good, but I think the album this would have been a part of would have been amazing. This sounded like the perfect natural progression from Hook Me Up instead of the more acoustic driven pop/rock of self-titled.
I also recall when this first came out people compared the intro to Ellie Goulding's "Lights."

(The single cover is pretty creepy as well.) Poor Jess and Lisa's mom because it's a photograph of her.
